    Beautiful hike

Came back for another time although this visit was much warmer than my last visit. We brought our dogs this time and boy did they enjoy the hike. Beautiful and quiet with great scenery. The drive up to and back down was also enjoyable.

We rented all 9 camper cabins and 3 beautiful loaded cabins. We had everything for a 4 day family reunion and this place was nothing short of amazing. We had no problem at all. Everything was well kept, clean and fresh. The maintenance team could do some work on a few of the units. But overall cleanliness and friendliness was wonderful. The park and trails are all well maintained and the hiking is fantastic here. Stay if you can but go for the day hike if you're able. This place won't let you down. We even worked with a private company allowed by the park to take us horse back riding up to the top of Yellow Rock viewing area. Awesome time had by the whole family. Thanks Devil's Den State park for helping set a new family standard in how reunions should be done.

My family and I were driving through Arkansas and I've never seen much of the state before and know hardly anything about it, so we decided to stop at Devils Den to explore and so we could get out of the car for an hour or two before we continued meandering along. This was so much more gorgeous and breathtaking a stop than I could've imagined or hoped for! We only walked the shorter trail and it was still just incredible, such an enjoyable hike with all the greenery and view points! I loved it so much and they even have cabins you can stay in, so it will definitely be the goal to come back at some point!

Great place to get free water bottles from kind strangers. Trails can be a bit intense and don't have guard rails and things so be prepared going in.

We love visiting Devils Den in Arkansas.

My kids and I like to explore Devils Den in Arkansas. Even though the caves are no longer accessible the hike is super simple.

Beautiful hills, rocks, caves, streams around great hiking, horse, atv trails, cabins, and pool for the kids in this state park.

A great family friendly state park with everything! All season stopping place to get away

My husband and I did the (BUTTER-FIELD) trail 15mile loop and tint camped one night to split up the hike.... Weather was beautiful 70 high low 40's night. It was definitely more like a 17 mile trail. It is definitely off a little bit and they will tell you that when you check in.The terrain is a variety ~Pictures to follow~ very clean, lots of places to stop and rest, with it being early April we seen lots of Brooke's/streams of water falls and was able to use our KATADYN WATER Filter to get some water **which you will need**. Had no issues and so glad we were able to make this happen

The caves were closed and the water was too low for the waterfall to be much but was an absolutely beautiful trail. Would say it was moderate and might not be easy for those with physical limitations but was well worth the hike and beautiful the whole way through. Specifically did the devils den trail. Wasn't too busy. Plan to go again and explore the other trails it has to offer.

We really enjoyed this park. It was the most crowded of all the AR state parks we visited but we were still able to keep our distance from others. We are on a mission to take my 85 year old father to all the national parks and in between we go to state parks. AR state parks are mostly all free unless you are camping or staying at one of their lodges/cabins. To spend a day hiking and having a picnic it is free. I love all the unique entry signs. This place has a pool that was closed I assumed other too early in season or COVID. The CCC has build some amazing things at this park like the dam that created such a great waterfall (the jewel of the park). This park had some amazing cabin that I would love to stay in one day. Overall a beautiful park. I wish it was a tad less busy. I assume when pool is running it is even more popular. Glad we made time to visit this park.

This place is absolutely amazing. You can spend a few hours hiking a trail or a few days camping or in a cabin. There are so many amenities including a pool. There are trails for every level of experience and everything is very preserved making for some great views. We were here on a nice Saturday afternoon and although there were many cars on our drive in we seldom saw others on the trails because there are just so many. There are park rangers everywhere and they are not only friendly but very knowledgable as they should be. Make sure to pack water and plan your routes as there are not restrooms readily available everywhere. I would also advise stopping at the visitor's center and grabbing a map. The trails are well marked with markers and colors but can still be confusing if you miss one.

The most picture perfect park that was really cute and pretty to see all the greenery and scenery. The only downside was the sudden rain but it made it super fun peaceful and enjoyable :)

This state park is beautiful and has unique geology. The hiking trails are well marked and maintained. Our favorite hike was the Devil's Den trail with intriguing bluffs, caves, crevices and even a beautiful waterfall. Our pictures turned out great. I would give the hiking trails five stars for sure. As for the rest of the park, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed the night in cabin 18. The cabin was quaint and well equipped but could have used a bit of updating. The bed was visibly bowed and both my husband and I had a hard time sleeping and our backs hurt the next day. In fact, my husband ended up getting up in the night and sleeping on the couch. The toilet was in need of replacement and the indoor fireplaces did not appear to be operational. All in all, we had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend checking out Devil's Den, particularly for the hiking trails.

Lots of exploring and hiking to do here. Beautiful views as well. Can be crowed in some spots near the River during good weather. The River walk can be challenging if going upward. Bring water.

Ask the Community - Devil's Den State Park

Can you go into the caves in the park?

If you are talking about the bat caves you cannot. They actually have added a metal gate to keep people out.

The waterfalls seen the photos will they be there in July?

The post-card photos you always see of them are, as far as I know, outdated--at least as of *my* last Summer visit, more than a year ago, when the falls over the back of the dam were pretty well dried up. I would think your best bet to catch them… Read more

If you're coming to Natural Falls for barbecuing, picnicking, short hiking, lounging around and camping...then this park is for you. I was scrolling through Google Maps and discovered a photo that looked intriguing. It was a picture of a 77 foot plunging waterfall among a scenic backdrop known as Ozark Springs. This Ozark Springs waterfall is the #1 top highlight at the park. The rest of the activities (I believe) are side compliments. So...if you're passing through West Siloam Springs, it could be worthwhile to check out Ozark Springs, and it doesn't take long to do. The trails map says 45 minutes, but it can be finished in less. The walk to the falls is half a mile at the most. You can find Ozark Springs along the Dripping Springs Trail. There are two parts to capturing views. First is from an overlook point high above. After completing this lookout spot, then it's 47 steps down to the bottom. The base of Ozark Falls has a boardwalk pathway leading you in front of the waterfall. I was tempted to step off the boardwalk to avoid the hand railing when taking pictures, but that wasn't not allowed. Also unfortunately, they don't permit swimming in the pool that Ozark Falls splashes into. But the waters appeared refreshing. You can connect Dripping Springs Trail with Ghost Coon Trail to combine two hikes in one. Or otherwise you can return to the Dripping Springs Trailhead and either choose another pathway or hang out, have lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There are a few other trails you can consider, but they're nothing dramatic. - Fox Den Trail - 1.5 miles to a "rock overhang and cavern area". - Bear Trail - hardly a hike but leads to Ozark Springs and intersects with Dripping Springs Trail. - Pine Ridge Trail - 3/4th's of a mile that navigates the perimeter of Natural Falls Park. It's $10 entrance fee for a day pass. You can pay at the Visitor Center. Plus inside the VC, you can purchase souvenirs from a small selection of items or buy snacks and drinks if you haven't arrived prepared. I noticed they have a lot of space for camping. Although I didn't spend a night here, the conditions for sleeping outdoors looked inviting. Btw...while walking along Ghost Coon Trail, I passed by these Yurts, or I'd describe them as huts accommodative for "glamping" or glorified camping. It's like upscale camping staying in tent - cabins. There may have been 5 - 6 yurts located beside the grass edge of the forest and pleasant looking for enjoying the great outdoors. Overall, Natural Falls State Park has a quiet setting and is fine for taking a few hours to breathe in fresh air, especially if you're in no hurry. Although I wanted more challenging hiking trails and activities to keep me occupied, I was okay with taking a lazy day to appreciate nature.

Gorgeous views and great preservation. The Battle of Prairie Grove (Dec 7, 1862; near Fayetteville, Arkansas) was the last time two armies of almost equal strength faced each other for control of northwest Arkansas and Missouri. Union forces, led by Generals James G. Blunt and Francis Herron, clashed with Confederate troops under Gen. Thomas C. Hindman. Hindman moved towards Blunt's division in order to attack while it was isolated. However, Blunt was reinforced by Herron, leading Hindman to take a defensive position on some high ground known as Prairie Grove. Herron attempted to assault Hindman's lines twice, but both were repulsed. Eventually, both sides disengaged and the fighting reached an inconclusive result. However, the unavailability of reinforcements forced Hindman's army to retreat from the field during nightfall. The battle ended in a draw, but the Confederates had to retreat, giving the Union control of the area.
