Excellent service and as other reviewers have mentioned, the staff mostly all speak English. I had to make an appointment for the next day to set up an account as they were busy, but the next morning it took 10 minutes and was painless. Got all cards and paperwork within a few days. But the best part is that as of this writing Deutsche Bank is the only one that has an option for English on their website. If you have no familiarity with the way banks and electronic payments work here, the additional confusion of translating from German makes it extra fun. This point alone is what sold me, but the service when I've had to go in to this location has been great. Always helpful and courteous. read more

Disgusting that they just have two counters for over 10 people in line. The staff at the counter tries hard, the rest is just hangin' at their desks. I needed to deposite a check (... I know, but Amazon England sent me a Deutsche Bank check) with no way to deposit it at the machines. They closed down Danziger Str. branch so this branch is one of the few left in Berlin :( - if you just start looking for a bank - better look elsewhere. read more

The service at the branch in Berlin Spandau Germany is unprofessional. For a large Bank I aspect excellent service. They didn't help my mother, she is 95 and cannot see so well, and specially one of the lady's there is giving her not only ones a hard time. Discrimination against the elderly. Not a bad spot to open up a bank account. We arrived a few weeks ago, fresh and eager to dump our money into some German banks. We had tried comparing other banks to see who offered the best deal (Postbank, Sparkasse, Commerzbank, Deutsche Kreditbank) but alas! All failed. We couldn't even get past the websites, let alone walking through the doors. The people here speak English and we were in and out in 10 minutes, tops. Deutsche Bank is rad because if you're from the US and bank with Bank of America, you can withdraw as much scrill as you want WITHOUT FEES. This only works for Deutsche Bank locations in Germany though, and when I called BofA to confirm, they said Berlin was exempt. I tried it anyway, and bam. No fees. It's an easy to find location, near Alexanderplatz. The staff is pretty friendly and they keep the temperature in the bank exceptionally warm, which was kind of weird. It was quiet; definitely more staff on site than there were customers (unlike the Hermannstrasse location). Compared to the service we received at Sparkasse near our house, this was miles above and beyond what we expected! read more

I love Deutsche Bank. I have banked with them for almost 20 years and they are always very professional and courteous.

It's like being a kid when you're in a new country trying to bank in a foreign language and you need a little hand holding. Luckily in the three times that I've been to bank at this location they have always been very helpful and very polite - and do it in English. read more

The staff at the branches doesn't speak English. The overall service is poor. You would expect more from one of the largest banks in the world. Their rates are very high especially when it comes to foreign currency transactions. read more

Honestly I am really disappointed by their service. I wouldnt recommend anyone to open an account with them. Staff is NEVER friendly, they don't speak English and the online assistance service they provide is absolutely useless. Besides, at the end of the year when you will want to look at your transactions for tax purposes....forget it, you will only be able to see the ones you've done in the last 180 days. I heard bad things about Deutsche Bank, but not speaking much German, I thought I'd give them a go as I know they have English speaking staff, and also, as I travel, it's useful to be able to withdraw money without any charges from certain ATM networks in different countries (e.g., Barclays in the UK, BNP Paribas in France). The lady on the counter was very polite, led me to a desk and asked if I wanted a drink, within a few minutes, and a sparkling water later, one of the advisors came and setup the account with me, all in English, explained everything very thoroughly, how to deposit money, how to transfer money internationally, etc. I walked about gobsmacked within 15 minutes with my account open and my money deposited, if this is how a 'bad' German bank is, I'd love to see the others! So much better customer service than any banks I've used in the UK. Completely recommend both Deutsche Bank and this particular branch, despite being near the busy Alexanderplatz, it was mostly deserted and I was served in no time at all. It's not a perfect bank, but it is the best bank available in Berlin at the moment. I like Deutsche Bank and their service options are usually in English (although their English is usually either terrible or nonexistent). But at least they try hard. read more
