It…read morereliably cleans bugs and bird droppings, doesn't leave any suds behind and provides a spot-free finish. The unlimited "free" vacuum system is very nice. A minor complaint: The suction drops precipitously if someone else starts using the hose next to the one you've grabbed.

I tried this car wash today because I received a text with a free Graphene wash for my birthday…read more I have to say that I am SO happy that I did not have to pay the $25+ for this wash. First is the VERY overwhelming odor of mildew when you enter the wash. Made me very concerned about the cleanliness of the equipment but, you can't back out at that point. The odor filled the interior of my car. Second, my car is not clean. I did not go over to the free area to wipe down my windows because it is over 90 degrees outside but, judging by the amount of spots and streaks on them, the rest of my car can't be that clean. Third, this was supposed to be a Graphene wash. Was it? Who knows?! None of the signs lit up to tell you what stage you were at. Not impressed. Would DEFINITELY not pay $25 for this.

I am sure everyone have noticed an explosion of fully automated car wash facilities in the past 2…read moreyears. Here on in Mechanicsburg, Shiny Shell is the newest and the third car wash to open with the 2 mile stretch on Carlisle Pike. And the other two are national/regional chains as well; namely, Cloud 10 and Mod Wash. I've had my cars washed in all 3 facilities. Even though Cloud 10 has the most clout & presence, Shiny Shell in my opinion has the most utilitarian value. I gave it a try during the pre-opening weekend on 9/21/24 (officially opens on 9/24/24). From the get-go, the camera deciphered my license plate, identified me as a member, and automatically opened the gate. Also, unique only at Shiny Shell: 1. I was given a dashboard wiping pack in addition to the customary air freshener upon check in. 2. There are 2 different vacuum nozzles: a standard one and a small one for hard to reach areas. 3. There is a faucet in the member lounge where I can wash my hands (listen up Cloud 10 & Mod Wash). 4. There is a complimentary fountain drink station in the member lounge for customers. 5. Work-in-progress: a play area for kids while you do the vacuuming and wiping. These added values are enough for me to bump up my rating to 5. PS. I do notice that the car aren't as dry the moment the car leaves the tunnel, but that's a small miss.

They used Armor All throughout the inside and our windows are spotless which is a task since our dog left nose marks all over them!! We had caked on bugs from a long road trip and they are all gone and not a speck of dirt left from our camping trip!! Absolutely amazing!! $50 for all of this - and hands down worth it!! We were in the waiting area with another gentleman who was there for the first time as well and he was just as impressed with the service!! SO GLAD we found this place!! This place is old and looks weathered - but it works....kinda. There is an automatic drive thru…read morewhich is what I used. It is not touch less. There are three options. A $4, $5 and $6. I inserted my card and selected the $6 option. The computer then informed me that it was sorry......literally! Across the little screen "........SORRY.........SORRY......." kept scrolling. So then when I selected the $5 option, it said thank you for your purchase - and naturally, my credit card statement was charged $6, ugh. So I drive in......and it begins......I felt like I was in a washing machine! I've never been shook so much in a car wash and I have a four door sedan. Once the shaking was over ....as I begin to exit I realized there was no dryer but a SPRAYER..........to wet the car yet again (an additional rinse to ensure all the soap was off). I had to dry off my self and this was not because of the $5 option, there is no equipment in the car wash to blow dry the car no matter what option you select. The owner showed up while I was there to clean up, empty trash and collect coins, he was nice. So I will give this place a extra .05. So final rating.....2.5.
