I visited you church this Palm Sunday (4/17/2011) and I would like to share my experience with you. Sometime last week I heard about your church on WTRM and I was interested in the comment that this church was being started for people who had been "hurt" by the "church". In that broadcast I thought I heard that your church started at 10:00 AM. I found your Web Site by looing for "The Church in the Alamo Theater, Winchester, VA. I looked all over your site and I could not find anything that indicated your start time. I also could not find a place to make comments or ask questions. There was a lot of personal information what you were trying to do and why you were trying to do it but nothing that would help a visitor. So I showed up at your church at 9:50 AM this Sunday. I went into the lobby and a lot of people were standing around but nobody said a word to me. Some were eating donuts, some were drinking coffee, some were talking to each other but nobody was talking to a stranger who was just wandering around the lobby. I finally asked a theater employee if this was the place where the church was located and she told me it was in theater 5. I went to theater 5 and on my way again nobody said a word to me. I walked into the theater and saw that someone was preaching on the theater screen and it appeared that he was about ready to finish his message. I stood at the end of the entrance walkway right next to two guys but they did not say a word to me. I finally decided to go ahead and seat myself but by then the message was over. They played a song and then they passed the collection "bucket" around. As it turns out the two guys standing next to me when I came in were the "money takers". After paying my admission fee they announced that they some need volunteers to put signs in their yard and around town advertising the new church. then the service ended. As I left nobody said a word to me. In summary, I came to this church because I have been hurt by other churches and now I can add another church to my list. I do not provide you with this feedback with any kind of malace in my heart but in the hopes that the next time someone wanders off the street and into your "church" someone hopefully has some time to welcome and assist a stranger trying to find his way. read more
