This weekly, free paper comes out every Thursday and can be found on stands throughout Long Beach. The "So Moved" section will keep you up to date on City Council, and the "Business Beat" column will keep you informed as far as new businesses, closed businesses, ownership changes, etc.etc. (For example, I just checked this week's Business Beat and found out there's a new Bob's Big Boy in Signal Hill! No more drives to Burbank for that cherished chili spaghetti!) Lots of other good stuff in this little paper, including good local coverage of the arts as well. But there are two key gems you must know about: 1. Rental Listings. If you are considering getting an apartment in Long Beach, this is as close as you'll get to a one-stop shop. Make sure you get the paper first thing Thursday morning and start calling and looking at places right away because by the weekend the best places will usually already be gone. It's as close as you can get to a comprehensive source, and it's much better than the PT's listings or than driving around to all the property management places and picking up their individual listings. 2. Restaurant Coupons. There are a ton of coupons in the paper for local restaurants, and the restaurant reviews are pretty good as well. P.S. The majority of the content is available online at http://www.gazettes.com, including the rental listings and restaurant reviews, but NO COUPONS FOR YOU! :)

Apparently I signed up for an online subscription Nov 2024 and was billed $14 every month on my credit card; but the day after I posted my Yelp scam comment, I got my first email of news from the PT. I want a refund for the 8 months that I paid for online news and didn't receive any.

They solicit business to business saying that they provide you with both print exposure and online advertising. My IT guy look into the LBBJ's websites structure and according to him they do not have meta-tags, hyper links to individual clients pages and the site is poorly constructed. This is a publication that boasts about being an affordable means of advertising small and mid size companies to increase sales and exposure but can't even offer data on hits or traffic to their clients website. It is clear that advertising in the LBBJ is a waste of money and with the economy being the way it is to invest in advertising that does nothing is bad business.

The accuracy of the details in this case on this article or totally flawed. This is coming from the victim in the case me Anna Williams. There was never a dispute nor was there ever an argument. Between me and Mr. Baird. I went to Long Beach PD on numerous occasions to report that Mr. Baird and I was being harassed, stocked and our property was being vandalized like slashing of our tires etc. So I think you could've done your due diligence and dug a little bit deeper in this case. Don't post what you hear from just police officers. Go to the source. I have copies of police reports that this matter was going on and we have been harassed for over so much time. But Long Beach PD did nothing to help us.
