Beautiful ,clean ,white fluffy sand with crystal clear water very family friendly .

What an amazing beach! The sand was fine and was white as snow! Came here on a Friday around noon. There was plenty of parking. It was $2 per person for parking and they accept credit cards. The bathroom was also clean. The water was a bit cooler on this day but it was sunny and hot in mid October. The water was nice to swim in. There are no life guards on duty. The beach was spotless. No trash or debris in the sand; it was nice to walk in barefoot. There's nothing more I could have asked for. My only regret was not discovering this beach sooner.

First time in Destin and we had a really awesome time. Came just as school got out for summer and the little girls picked Destin after hearing rave reviews from friends. Love the layout of the beach with so many cool restaurant options around and the convenience for parking directly off the beach. Less tourist heavy it has a small quant feel to it. White sand clear water it was a beautiful few days. Will make sure to come back for sure.

Clean and peaceful. No one bothered us while I drinked and smoked my hookah and played my Drake and Future!! We parked on the side of road Hwy 98 and walked through the dunes and parlayed all day everyday just the playa way

This is a great beach for fun in the sun. We have been to many beaches down the gulf coast and this has the best sand so far. You won't get the sunsets that beaches further south have but the water is clear and beautiful,

Absolutely beautiful beach! The water is so clear you can see the fish swimming. There is also a sand bar that allows you to go out further and really enjoy the waves. It's best to get here early because it definitely gets crowded (and there is not much of any COVID compliance by the patrons)

Beach is clean, not too crowded. Water is warm and clear. Destin (Miramar beach) is the best beach in this part of FL.

Pictures are so deceiving sometimes. People said Sept. is not a good time for Florida due to hurricane season, but since it was a memorial wknd (end of Aug and beginning of Sept.), we gave it a shot anyways. The condos are definitely much cheaper during this time. It was a 12hrs drive from Dallas to Destin. When I got there, I was dissappointed that the water wasn't blue and clear. As a matter of fact it was brownish and a lot of seaweed. The white sand was beautiful though. It was so fine like powder. Destin is definitely not knowing for good eat. They have mediocre restaurants and seafood markets. People in Destin are very friendly, but the tourist that comes here are a bunch of douchebags. We also went fishing and barely caught any fishes. I had no luck with crabbing either. The jetski experience was a lot of fun. Saw dolphins, stinkrays, sharks, and jelly fishes. Overall, it was a mediocre experience in Destin. Just don't ever come here after Sept. I guess, but will definitely return during summer time.

This beach is beautiful. BEA-UTIFUL. Sand. The best kind of sand possible. Powdery, white, and soft; it's better than snow. It's the kind of sand that makes it's a SIN to wear any sort of foot coverings. I don't care if you're ninety-three and can't walk -- make someone carry you to the beach, because there's no better feeling than digging your feet into that sand and wiggling your toes around. Bonus: it's relatively free of seaweed, (painful) crushed shells, and sticks too! Ocean. This water is flippin' fabulous. So what if I had to drive seven hours to swim in it? Worth every minute in that car. It's so clear, you can see the ground. Straight to the bottom, no creepy patches of seaweed or sketchy shadows to make you paranoid or wary of swimming. Nope. Swim to your heart's content, because this water is clearer than most public swimming pools, just sayin'. I saw a sea turtle swimming below me, that's how unclouded it was. Warning: the water is saltier than dipping a pound of McDonald's fries into a vat of straight fish sauce; your eyes may burn if you're unaccustomed to the water. Waves. Just crazy enough for body surfing and wave jumping, just calm enough to go paddle-boarding. Awesome. Note: if you're not paying attention, the waves'll smack you in the face and then you're left with burning eyes. -__- Convenience. Tons of beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent (daily rate is roughly $30), which saves you the hassle of having to lug all that stuff around. Less lugging = more relaxing. The math doesn't lie. Space. This is probably one of the least crowded beaches I've been on. No fighting the crowd for a tiny parcel of sand, just plop your stuff down and head for the waters. I came at the most random times and the beach still had plenty of moving room. All in all, love it. I love it so much, I'll move here one day and pay someone to carry me to the sand so I can wiggle my toes and watch the sunset.

If you want to be beachfront and have more amenities I highly suggest going with a VRBO. In the Destin area they provide way more comfort and accessibility to many nice amenities.

We were in search of dolphins and sharks, and the gal who told us about this local spot mentioned that she has always seen tons of wildlife in this area. It was not too difficult to find, but it took a little bit of looking at the map to locate. It is located right off Gulf Shores Drive. Know that this road dead ends, but it is located right before the dead end. You can pay to park on the street, and the small beach trail is located on the left.. Follow the path through a narrow opening, and it leads you to the bay. Crazy enough, this is where all the sunset dolphin tours go to search for the dolphins. You can't beat the location, as it only cost five dollars to park! You get the same view as the sunset dolphin cruise boats. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane, the bay was quite rough. We were not able to see anything, but I realize that is very uncharacteristic to this area. Due to the hurricane, the waters were rough and filled with dirt. The natural emerald like color was a replaced with dark, murky waters. It was still a wonderful spot to see the sunset! You could climb up onto the rocks and just watch the sun disappear beyond the bay. I definitely will go back! We met a nice local at the spot, and we were told that this is the perfect place to find decent size seashells. I think this would've been a completely different experience if the water were clear and the waves were not as rough. We were also told that around the rocks, around the perimeter of the bay, sharks are sometimes seen stocking their prey. I'm sure there were some in the water, but like I said, due to the hurricane, visibility was rough. It is definitely a hidden gem, and I cannot wait to go back!

Destin, Florida is a city in NW Florida located in the Panhandle. They have gained notoriety as the…read morebeaches are magical with Emerald Waters and Powdery White Sand. Interesting fact, the sand is that way from granite deposits that flow from North GA and beyond all the way down into the Gulf as silt. Because of the beaches, the area attracts more and more tourist every year and IMO is getting more luxurious as the years go by. I've noticed better restaurants, more aesthetically pleasing looking buildings and just a more upscale feel with each visit. I'm writing this here because I noticed many of the beaches along the 6 mile coast are PRIVATE. I'm not sure which beach to actually post this review but I find that simply horrible, ridiculous, backwards and restrictive! Who adds gates with Codes to a beach?!?! I can understand a handful of properties and major resorts but to secure majority of the coastline with Controlled Access? In my particular visit I stayed at a resort and had the codes for entry/exit but found many people having difficulty simply getting to the beach! I don't think they knew the beaches would have controlled Access! Even to exit, you need a code! That's shameful! It was frustrating to see people struggle with umbrellas/coolers and chairs only to have to find the Public Beach and have to walk back to their car. May I add the city also doesn't have any form of boardwalk to enjoy a long walk down the coast or some form of transportation to maneuver the public/private beaches! You're basically on your own! I'm curious Who/When/How that got approved because that's definitely some backwards N. Florida, My Property, ME, ME, ME planning! I'm not a resident but I believe some things on this planet are public and Imo a beach is one of them! Plus their has to be better ways to protect and maintain these beaches than blocking them off from the general public. Any who, for anybody planning a Trip to Destin, Please do your homework! Visit the website below which has hyperlinks for all the beaches which explains access points/fees/sizes of the beach and more details. I'll also attach a picture which shows a few of the main Public Beaches. It does appear the largest beach is Henderson Beach with1.22 miles of shoreline. Seems like the general "Dump the masses" area. The others are significantly smaller! smh. Any who I hope this helps! One Last detail, We had many umbrellas and chairs however this was literally the 1st beach that didn't have Umbrellas for sale on the beach. It's just very restrictive down there and is worthy of a review! https://www.cityofdestin.com/281/Beach-Information
