Upon our stroll we came across Miceli Cafe and my aunt who resides nearby mentioned they have the best gelato and granite--so of course I hade to try it! They offer a huge variety of flavors and options. My husband is a fan of the gelato inside the brioche bun. I stuck to 2 flavors on a cone. The consistency of the gelato was creamy and melts in your mouth! Each flavor is true to its name and are very rich and flavorful. I did not get to try the granite but when I return to Sicily I would check it out.

Pasticceria Irrera is considered by many to make the best cannoli in the world, and I would proudly agree with that. I literally got teary as I took my first bite. Just a word to the wise, though... Eat the treats fairly soon. Everything made from scratch also means no preservatives, so by the next night, not as amazing. But fresh out of the display case? It's a religious experience.
