I recently leased a new Ford Bronco for my daughter from DeSoto Ford in Arcadia, Florida, and it was a very pleasant and seamless experience, which is often rare in the car industry. While we started off apart in terms of the numbers, after going back and forth a few times, we were able to agree on the terms. I am definitely not the easiest of customers, but Christian Diaz was patient, professional and attentive, and that tenacity is what made the transaction happen. Everyone from Christian in sales, to the financing department and management were a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend them if you are interested in a new vehicle. When the time comes for my son's car, Christian will be my first call. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased a vehicle from Desoto Ford. I''ll preface this by saying that I know that i could have walked away from the deal, but I chose not to because I believed what I was told. In mid July 2026, I initiated contact with the dealership on a 2020 Mustang Convertible. The first salesperson I spoke with was Scott. When he quoted me the out the door (OTD) price, which was around $41,000, he explained that I was being "penalized" because I didn't have a trade. I declined the offer. I really like the color scheme and the car was being sold Certified Ford Blue Advantage, which warrantied the vehicle for three months or 4,000 miles. A week or so later, I can't remember who initiated the next contact, but I spoke with salesperson JB (name being protected so as to not embarrass them) and sales manager SC, who presented me with the final OTD price. I was clear that the OTD price needed to include all taxes and registration fees paid to the State of NC, which is where I live. I explained that NC has some extra fees when it comes to registering a vehicle especially if it's the first time being registered in NC. I implored him to ensure they were aware of all taxes and fees. On July 28, 2026, SC presented me with an OTD price of $35,925. I asked SC for his reassurance that the vehicle did not have any major scratches, rips, etc. SC had JB send me a video of the car, which JB just happened to highlight the hole in the front bumper and large scratch on the rear bumper. SC said these could not be repaired, but could be fixed by replacing the entire bumpers. SC said he was at his absolute lowest price and would not fix the bumpers; I would have to absorb the cost. I'm not sure how you can sell a car with damage like that, but I like the car so I reluctantly agreed to pay to have the bumpers replaced because SC said he would get me the parts and labor at cost $750.00. SC also said for that $750 he would have the body shop repair the small dent on the on the passenger side front fender and they would touch up some of the paint chips around the car. I asked SC how many keys came with the vehicle. SC said the previous owner only turned in one key, but he would get me another key, which was valued at dealer cost of $260.00. When I got the final contract, the price of the car went from $35,925 to $36,922. In addition to the $750 for the bumpers, apparently someone conveniently calculated the NC registration cost by $267. I should have walked away at this point, but I did not. After I reluctantly agreed to pay the increased amount for the registration, SC told me that I misunderstood him about the key and that he was not supplying me with a second key, but if I wanted one, he would get it for me for $260.00. I should have walked away at this point, but I did not. So, now the car I thought I was paying $35,925 just went up by approximately $1,275.00. I told SC I could not pick up the car until August 14th and he agreed to have the auto body do all the work and hold the car for me in the back of the lot until I could get there and pick up the vehicle. In the meantime, I completed the paperwork and sent everything back to the dealership. On August 13th, I flew from NC to Florida and spent the night at a friend's house, which was about two hours from the dealership. On August 14th, I drove to the dealership, met with JB, and we took the car for a test drive. I noticed there was a lot of outside noise, but I chalked it up as it was a convertible and convertibles are noisy. Before I left the dealership, I noticed that SB never had the body shop fix the small dent or touch up the paint chips like he said he was going to. I think this was done intentionally. SC knew I was picking up the car and needed to head back to NC and gambled that I would not have time to wait around to argue with him. I pointed this out to JB, but he didn't say a word. Instead, he said " enjoy your car" as he walked into the dealership. No one even offered to go over the features of the vehicle with me. I drove back to my friend's house and took a few pictures of the car to send to my wife who was home in NC. That's when I noticed that the rear passenger window on the driver's side was not extended all the way up and did not meet the driver's window. There was a small gap between the windows and the rubber seal. That is when I realized that was the noise I heard on the test drive. I suspected that is one of the reasons why the car remained unsold since April 2026 and that was why JB said " enjoy your car" as if they were finally able to unload the vehicle without fixing it properly. On or about September 17, 2026, I received the NC Registration; however, I had to pay an additional $340.00 for the vehicle's property tax. I strongly suggest not buying a vehicle from Desoto Ford / Desoto Auto Mall. read more

Worst salesmen, (Rick), worst after sale service. Once they sell car to you, you don't exist anymore. No answer to phonecall or emails. If you have problem, don't expect and help from salesperson or management. read more

First and foremost, Rick was an exceptional salesman to deal with - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. If you plan to buy a car, definitely ask for him. - 5 Stars for Rick! Secondly, the price that you see online is not the actual price. I drove an hour one way with the intent to buy a truck at the advertised price online... Unfortunately, I did not end up purchasing the truck I went to see. The vehicle was listed on their website for a very fair price, but during the negotiation process I learned there was a $2,999 in-house warranty that is both non-optional and non-negotiable. Between that required warranty and limited flexibility on my trade-in value, I ultimately did not get the truck for the online listed price... which I was fully prepared to pay. The truck was listed online for $32,000, but the sales manager would not go below $38,000, and that figure already included $1,700 positive equity from my trade. I understand that some of the difference stemmed from taxes and fees, plus the mandatory warranty. However, I arrived at the dealership with the intent to pay the listed $32,000... hoping my trade-in's equity would help cover taxes and fees. The sales managers unwillingness to remove the in-house warranty that was not advertised or match another dealer's trade-in offer ultimately killed the deal. - 1 star for forcing a customer to purchase the $2,999 in house Desoto warranty even when the customer plans to purchase the other aftermarket warranty during the finance phase, 1 star for lowballing a trade-in, and not being willing to negotiate even when the customer is willing to pay the sticker price of the vehicle. At the end of the day, Rick went above and beyond to try to make the deal work and I appreciate that. read more

My husband purchased a Jeep from this dealership in July 2025. When issues started coming up, we reached out because we were explicitly told we had a warranty. We were even emailed documentation stating the vehicle was covered. Now that the Jeep is no longer working, the dealership is suddenly claiming there is no warranty at all, completely contradicting what they put in writing. When I called to clarify, I was spoken to extremely disrespectfully, told to essentially "go screw myself," that I'm one of those people that want stuff for free and then hung up on And blocked my number This is not just poor customer service ,it's dishonest and unprofessional. Selling a vehicle, confirming warranty coverage in writing, and then refusing to honor it while treating customers this way is unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to risk being left stranded with no support once they've taken your money. read more

It felt like pulling teeth just to get basic information. I asked for an out-the-door quote that included GAP and an extended warranty. They gave me a total but made it very difficult to get an itemized breakdown. When they finally provided itemized details, neither GAP nor the extended warranty was included, and the price was actually higher than what they advertised online. I was then told I'd have to get those details from the finance department. What should have been a simple, transparent quote turned into a frustrating runaround. read more

I came in with my partner specifically to purchase a used vehicle we had seen several ads for online. We called ahead and asked if the vehicle was available and were told yes. We arrived and were shuffled around and then finally told they had "Good news and bad news." They then took us to view a vehicle that was in service and had the engine torn apart. Despite the issue we were willing to proceed with a deal pending repairs. When the numbers came back, a vehicle that was advertised at $18,000 came back at $26,000. When we began asking lots of questions about why there were close to $8,000 in taxes and fees the salesperson said she'd get her manager. Manager Chad came over and was immediately rude and did not want to answer any questions. He stated that the state of Florida mandates dealer fees (that is not at all true) and then refused to tell us what the fee was for. Then when we asked him to explain another $2,900 fee, he basically said it was for a 90 day warranty which I said we were not interested in as we could buy a separate warranty for less. He became increasingly combative with every question. After I finally just said "I don't think you want to sell us a car." He said "No I don't" and tore up the offer in front of us. Then I asked politely who his manager was and he told me that not only was he the manager he also owned the dealership. As we were walking out he followed us and told us to leave immediately (as though we'd ever do business there after how we were treated.) I guess he didn't want other people to hear how badly he was treating us. Caveat emptor read more

Our sales person, DeAsia was fantastic! Kept us updated on what was going on and eager to take care of problems we had with the car (new tire and battery). The reason we got a new tire was because when I was doing a walk around the car, I saw that the front left driver side tire had a small slit in the sidewall. I guess no one else saw that so when she brought it to the manager's attention, that's when they addressed getting a new tire. She then proceeded to take it to get gas in it, which was very nice but got in trouble with her manager because she drove it on the bad tire. Well, if I wouldn't have seen that, we would've driven it home to Punta Gorda so I don't see what the problem was. I am glad I found it while we were at the dealership because if we would have drove it home and then found that they would've probably found a way to not replace the tire saying it was something that we did . She is a very good sales person, and I would recommend her to anyone. read more

If I was able to give no stars, I would've. Even negative stars would be too good for them. On November 25, 2022 I went to Desoto Automall in Arcadia and spoke with a salesman. I inquired and a 2023 Ford Raptor I was interested in purchasing. The salesman suggested that I order one directly from Ford because I would save on the up charging that the dealerships were doing on new F-150 Raptors. He said they up charge over the MSRP between 10-20 thousands dollars. I thought that was crazy. Charging someone $20,000 over MSRP and as soon as you drive the truck off the lot it would depreciate the normal $10,000 plus the uncharged amount of $20,000. Crazy So the salesman helped me order the exact truck I wanted. Plus I put a down payment down on the truck. The salesman said the down side of ordering the truck is that it would take 3-6 months before it would be delivered. I was fine with that as long as I was not going to pay the up charge. I waited 5 months and then called the dealership. I was assured it was on order. I called another months later and was given the same story. I waited another month and was still told the same thing. I called every months until September of 2023 and was given the same answer over and over again. I finally called the Corporate number in October. I'm po I'm read more

Amazing Service up til you sign the paperwork. Purchased a vehicle that dealership lifted and put larger tires on. Asked before signing if speedometer was corrected for tire size. Was assured it was. It is not. Have spoken with Joey the sales person, Michael the sales manager, and the GM. All of which have sworn they would call me back. None have bothered to call back. Too many reasons to even begin to explain. The highlights were taking a car in a test drive that had a dead battery and we had to have it jumped, a price sheet that didn't list what were debits or credits and had so many add-ons that were completely unnecessary to jack up the prices and a ridiculous slow ball on my trade. I sold my trade out right and went back with a counter within the range of what they had advertise the vehicle for and they said we were still way too far apart on the deal. Even after several request, never got the incentive for my test drive. This place is the epitome of the stereotypical used car sales place. Avoid! read more

Make sure you ask ALL the right questions. We recently purchased a used car from this dealership long distance. Because it was fairly new (2019) we did not ask whether the car had two keys available. When the car arrived, there was only one key. They tried to brush it off, but if you've traded a car in recent year, you know that dealers ALWAYS ask how many keys and if you don't have two, they will charge you for the second one. These keys are expensive - this one is nearly $500. We asked for them to either provide another key at their cost, or reimburse us for getting one made. So far, all we've heard is crickets. read more

I would give zero stars of possible. My husband and I went here on July 23, 2024 in Arcadia from Bradenton. Christine the sales person and her manager (we did not get his name) told my husband through Christine's text that he would accept $11,000 difference in cash to trade our vehicle, a 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV in excellent condition with 50,000 miles on it and purchasing from them a 2020 Ford Raptor, with 30,000 miles, with several issues, but could be repaired. We drove over an hour to get there, test drove the Raptor, agreed to purchase, then went into the office to what we thought would be to sign papers and write them a check for $11,000 plus tax, tag and title transfer, however the manager changed the agreed price, from $11,000 to $15,000 on a paper he gave to Cristine to give to us. We of course said no, so Christine went over to the manager and she came back with a price of $13,500 difference now. We said the agreement was for $11,000, not $15,000, nor $13,500, it was $11,000. My husband was very polite and thanked Christine for her time, but I walked out calling them all slimy and stating why lie to us and make us drive over an hour AFTER agreeing to an amount, if you were not going to do it? If anything, the Raptor should have been discounted more, since it was NOT in the condition specified online or over the phone, it had multiple issues, but our ESCALADE is in excellent condition. I would never go to this dealership, they are slimy and do not do what they state they will (again we have proof in text), they lie and I will NEVER deal with people like this. Bought the vehicle online, had it delivered the next day. That part went smooth as silk. After we washed the coffee splatters and vacuumed up the crumbs that the guy who drove it left for us (-1 Star), the vehicle was as expected. Unfortunately, they've been non responsive with regards to the other stuff they said came with the vehicle, like the 1 year satellite radio and the warranty information, which I've requested information on several times now. I'd like my satellite radio, and I'd certainly like the warranty documentation. I requested the info from "JR" when he delivered the vehicle and was told that "back in his day, they did it different, but that he'd check on it". He never got back to me. (-1 Star) I subsequently received a "thanks for your business, please let me know if you have any questions, and please review us on Google" email. I responded with an "I'd like that information" email. I received a response from Bethany saying "JR is out today and he'll dig into it when he returns". I followed up several days later with both a phone call and an email. No response. (-1 star) I'll update the review if they bother to make it right.
