MAJOR BUYER BEWARE! Please read this entire review before considering Designs Cottage. You may save yourself thousands of dollars and hours of frustration. From my experience, it seems like their goal is to profit from unsuspecting customers with little knowledge of website building. Initial prices may seem sweet, but soon you'll be bombarded with calls from their accounts team and "lawyers." They'll push hidden fees on you, claiming it's time-sensitive and essential. They don't disclose any of this upfront. Surprise costs range from $1000 to $4000 USD, and they promise it's the last one, but I haven't found that to be the case. Designs Cottage lacks honesty and transparency, making trust impossible. They'll milk you for money until you put your foot down. Their treatment of clients is appalling and unprofessional. Their account manager is unhelpful and evasive. He'll ignore your requests, dodge calls, and surprise you with additional costs. Their in-house lawyer is also deceptive. He'll push you for a trademark, even if you already have one, insulting your lawyers in the process. This business is chaotic and disorganized. Scheduling calls is a nightmare, and communication is poor. They use different vendors for billing without explaining the relationship. Always demand written communication and thank yourself later. I stayed as a client, negotiating deals, but they lose interest if you don't pay full price. I paid for a second website, but the first one still isn't finished after nearly a year. Refunds are promised but never delivered. They might be in financial trouble and could sink soon. Protect your purchases or take your business elsewhere. I urge you to avoid Designs Cottage at all costs. This has been my worst business decision ever. Spare yourself the anger, frustration, anxiety, and cash. Public Service Announcement: do not use this company, period. They built our site, however we sent them page by page word docs with placement, copy, etc. and they still managed to make mistake after mistake. Worse, after the site was finally built and live, they tried to sell us additional services we didn't need by being dishonest and saying they were law. Those items were trademarking our name and logo and when we declined that, they took our site down and said the copyright (date on the bottom of the site) expired being the year changed from 2022 to 2023 and needs to be renewed. Options $699 for a year or $1499 for lifetime. Stated it was law, it's not and sent via text a suggestive blog post to try and justify. Ironically the prices quoted were the same as the trademark quotes. We moved everything away from them and have it hosted elsewhere. They are scam artists, coming up with money grab schemes - cannot trust them.....do yourself a favor and stay away, far away!!!! read more

Scammers. Sure, they might build you a decent website at first, but every couple of months they come up with extra fees - all being thousands of dollars, even if you purchase a "lifetime guarantee" package. We canceled our service with them and we got no refund, and they have held our domains hostage unless we pay them another $650US/each. I can not stress enough how I would never recommend this company and their never ending hidden fees. I would give 0 stars if possible. Absolute trash. read more

I wish you could give them zero stars. They are scammers. All of their packages are incomplete, so they can nickel and dime you for all the things that aren't include. For example, I bought an $800 commerce package, but it didn't include security, PCI or merchant indexing. They wanted another $1400 to do that. They don't include hosting. it is an extra charge and the list goes on and on and on. Hiring them has been the worst business experience ever. The only thing close it deal with car sales people. In the end I have a trademarked logo, a domain that is hosted forever and a ton of buyers regret and I am ashamed that I was scammed. My final advice. DON'T EVER USE THEM FOR ANYTHING!!! read more
