I did not find him to be very friendly. Months later I was looking for flowers with my mom in the area. I told her not to go to this one because they weren't really friendly so we went to the end of the block (Rainbow flowers or something). However that flower shop didn't have what we needed and we didn't have time to shop around so we came back to this one. We walk into the shop and once again, receive some unfriendly service. I purchased baby's breathe for my sister's baby shower and guess what... multiple people told me that the flowers smelt like stinky feet! Makes me wonder what kind of water they keep it in. These cuttings are always falling out of the soil because they're not even planted properly. When you buy something labelled as a "plant" that means it supposed to have roots! Reputable plant sellers will properly tell you, and put a disclaimer if something is unrooted, not fully-rooted, or rooted, and then price accordingly. And yep, shady racist behaviour. Not to mention the holier than thou attitude when you walk in. Unless you're a cool hip local friend of theirs, prepare to be ignored or scoffed at! One of my plants had mites and they treated it and showed me how to care for it to make sure they stayed healthy. A fun hole in the wall dessert spot x flower shop!…read more Essentially there's a dessert counter in a shared space with a flower shop operated by the one owner - super adorbable concept, the boss was so nice to introduce his menu to us as well! Located on the same block as quite a few other popular HK dessert spots, I more inclined to go to Rose Cafe because it's quieter and a more comfortable environment to relax and sit around in. The boss mentioned they can make anything for us (!) including ginger milk, the sago desserts and that they event have the pistachio paste (yum!). For a quick dessert run - I opted for the small mango shaved iced, it's served with nice and ripe mango chunks, and a fresh mango shaved ice base. For just about $10 it's worth the dessert stop! They had a nice menu of several classic HK items - from deep fried chicken wings, to bubble waffles to pearl based drinks that only HK locals would order. Worth a try if and when you're in the Nanaimo / Kingsway area! Also (!) - very reasonably priced flowers and potted plants!!!
