They are never open, even during operating hours. Selection is meh...I come because it's close to home but they are NEVER open!!!!

I used to shop here when I lived in Kingwood. Resale shops made up my business professional wardrobe in helping me dress for success in my earlier years starting my career in Corporate America. Designer Consignor is a good one to shop at! You can find unique high-quality clothes for the office. I am known as being the best dresser in the oil and gas companies I worked in. My most recent visit to Designer Consignor was a nightmare! My mother and I have been loyal consignors and shoppers since THE FIRST DAY TINA opened this place in 2005!!!! First, I called in November 2018 to secure a date to drop off my clothes to be sold. Guess the ridiculous wait time for the first appointment? January 2, 2019! My clothing is high quantity and in mint condition. I have never had a problem selling my clothing here before. I even took off work to accommodate there ridiculous wait time since it was the first available drop off date. So moving forward in the nightmare... I walk in and was not greeted. The older woman that has worked there for a while took 5 minutes to acknowledge me. I had 40+ articles of clothing. She went through each piece and told me she needed me to steam about 20 items and she wanted them back tomorrow. I said no problem. Keep in mind I drive from Houston to kingwood to consign with this business for years. So this is completely out of my way. I refer several people here over the years as well. Right after the appointment I went and bought a brand new steam cleaner since she said the clothes were a little wrinkled but great to sell. (In my opinion these clothes weren't wrinkled but whatever) I spent 4 hours back at my house in Houston steam cleaning and perfecting each piece to inconveniently drive 35 miles back to kingwood to bring back the clothes the next day. I bring the clothes back the next day. The other older women with brown short hair is there. I happily bring my consignments in, again not greeted, she wasnt friendly at all but I felt like I was an inconvenience to her!! She was very cold and didn't say anything as I laid my well pressed clothing on the counter. I wait about 10 minutes as she helped someone else look at purses right in front of me. Talk about not being able to multi task as a retail sales person. Horrible customer service skills. Finally she slowly goes through each piece of clothing all over again and takes them saying thank you for driving back and steam cleaning them they look great! We will put them on the floor soon. So I drove away happy knowing my hard work paid off! NOT FOR LONG!!!! The next day I get a phone call from the first sales lady saying my clothes are too wrinkled to sell. WHAT?!? I had literally spent 6 hours driving and pressing these items to make sure they were pristine. She said we can donate them for you??? I said: What! That's expensive clothing, I'm not donating it. Then she said you need to pick them up. First of all. My mother recently has become very sick and I really needed this money from the clothes to help her financially. Thus I went the extra mile to make sure they were happy with the items I brought in. I asked for Tina to call me (the owner) but the lady copped an attitude and hung up on me!! I'm shocked by this experience and will bring my business to other consignment shops from now on! There is a great place off 494 that has a better selection of designer clothing anyways! I recommend going there and the owner is very hands on and sweet. I'm disappointed I wasted time and money trying to do good business with Designer Consignor to be treated so terribly. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! Don't waste your time! Horrible service and old staff that has attitudes! Too bad there isn't anything lower than a 1 star. Because it would be here! In an unassuming strip center tucked down Chestnut Ridge Dr. you can find this little boutique. The building is as drab on the inside as it is the outside but don't let that fool you. Remind yourself "I'm not coming in here for ambiance. I'm coming in here to get a helluva deal." The store is fairly organized. The clothing racks are well maintained and arranged in a logical pattern sorted into color, style and size. I appreciate the extra effort and attention to detail because when I come in I don't have time to be wastin'. I personally have an extremely hard time finding work pants that fit me. In order to get a size 0 long that fits properly, you have to drop some bucks, and by some I mean a mini mountain. That's why I love it here. I can beeline to my size, pick out my favorite brand (I usually opt for Express, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor ect) and it's all priced at $10. Like any resale this place can be hit or miss. Absolutely worth checking out if you are shopping in the area. read more

Designer Consignor? Really??? You cheapen the word "designer" by putting it in the title of your shop. There was ONE pair of outdated Prada heels put in a prominent place. That was the only designer thing in there. That one pair of lonely Pradas were surrounded by Old Navy shorts and Ann Taylor dresses from the 90s. A decent Goodwill has better stuff than this. Don't waste your time. This place went WAY downhill since Anna C's review in 2010. read more

I have been visiting Designer Consignor for years. Tina Campbell has created an amazing business providing an upscale clothing and accessories option for women in the entire Houston and surrounding areas. She has clothing for teens, women, and plus sizes! Her clothing, accessories range from gently used to brand new! She has designer items from Gucci, Coach, Chanel, and many more. Her clothing is from US residents and European residents that have been transplanted into the local area. I love this store and visit every chance I get to fly back to Houston! read more

This place is a solid 3.5 stars out of 5. It's relatively well organized by type of item and then by size (which I highly appreciate!). Everything seemed to be relatively clean and in decent condition. However, if you're coming here hoping for "Designer" items, they're incredibly few and far between. The quality of items is a bit so-so and you'll find mostly mid to low range brands. That being said, I managed to walk out with a few cute items for a great price (items in the store more than 30 days are 25% off, and if more than 60 days they're 50% off!) I won't go out of my way to visit again, but if I'm in the neighborhood and needed to kill some time, I'd definitely stop in. As a side note, my GPS had a hard time locating this place. This shop is a wonderful asset to Kingwood! It is very well organized and color coordinated. Everything is clearly displayed and easy to find. The selection is great in all sizes...from 00 to 24W! It is a friendly environment and the staff is helpful. They play Christian music and it's a very warm place to shop. They carry better brands and do have designer labels. It's not that bad place to shop except for the older sales clerk named Karla if I remember right who gave us an attitude that Saturday. Never been uncomfortable shopping in my life till that day . My daughter came from out of town and we decided to shop at Designer. My daughter pick up some outfits to try on and one of the outfits has a zipper that wont zip up, so she decided to check the zipper and got it fixed and put back in the hanger and decided not to get it. So she tried some outfits, and I did tried on couple of outfits. Then my daughter was ready to check out and we re ready to go. While at the counter , Karla suddenly accused my daughter about the outfit and she told my daughter that she broke the zipper. This is what she said " You broke the zipper and I saw you in the mirror". We were shock the way she talk to us and the way she treated us. So I decided not to get the items I tried on. I was mad that she suddenly accused us about the zipper that wont zipped up. My daughter then spoke up and said, the zipper wont zip up when I tried on, so before I put it back in the hanger, I fixed it. I was so mad at that Sales Clerk. There's another younger sales clerk working there that knows what happened and she was apologizing that way we were treated. read more

I was consigning and buying from this shop quite a bit several years ago but no more. They lost?? one of the most expensive items I had ever consigned. It was a very expensive floor length evening gown covered in pearls and stones that had only been worn once. They didn't even offer to "compensate"me in any way.
