I had a tooth emergency (severe toothache) that I had to wait until Monday to be seen by a dentist and Dr. Garlitz and his staff was able to get me seen early Monday morning. Originally we thought I was going to have to get a root canal on my very last toothe (before the molars). So he gave me Ibuprofen and antibiotic to help with the inflammation and what not. I was later seen a week later for my root canal oral surgery and crown placement. Once Dr. Garlitz started cleaning out all of the decay and previous fillings, he realized that there wasnt going to be enough above the gums to save. He told me about this and let me know a cheaper, more effective way for me to deal with the tooth. We needed up extracting the tooth during my appt time. He let me know that my molar tooth would more than likely move into that empty spot now. I'm truly thankful for his honesty and integrity on his work because he could've went ahead and did the root canal, even though I would've been back in his office 6 months to a year later with a similar problem. Not enough words to say, but thank you! I will be only going to him from now and you should too!

Ok, I was hoping to be able to write a great 5-star review for this place. I have a huge fear of…read morethe dentist, so finding one that can really help me sounds like a dream. I was reading great reviews, and it was great. An appointment was made for a few weeks from now. I had called and told them that I can only see one of the dentists who is in my insurance and network. I had an issue with one of my teeth and called to see if I could get in any earlier. I came to find that the doctor I was scheduled with was not on the website anymore. I asked the person on the phone, and they were very confused about who I was talking to. I come to find that they just started. I understand that they are new, but as a business, would it be good to let them know that there were three doctors there and have left recently? Also, really, you can not call your patients and let them know that their doctor has moved to another location. I would have gone out there and then realized that and had to leave, and it's a long drive for me. It was not right not to inform them participants of a huge change like that, and on top I even have in my file that I can only see one as of my assurances. So I have found the doctor that I wanted to see and can now get in even earlier, so that is a plus, but really, please inform your customers before the day of the appointment of a huge change like that.

Deciding whether a dentist is "good" or "bad" often goes beyond technical skill--it can be a matter…read moreof ethics, too. I'm 81 years old, living with poor health, and I made sure to inform Dr Crocker about my challenges, including Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), which makes it hard for me to follow directions or conversations. My health conditions include multiple sclerosis (MS), chronic back pain, and heart failure, all of which make everyday situations more challenging. Unfortunately, my appointment turned into a nightmare. Due to my health issues, I asked to remain seated in a chair until the dentist arrived. After receiving a numbing shot, I waited over an hour for him to see me. As my pain levels steadily increased, I noticed he seemed upset and even blamed me for his running behind schedule. Despite my confusion, I told him I was willing to wait as long as necessary. At some point, I asked a fair question: if he was so behind schedule, why spend so much time blaming me when I had already agreed to wait? That's when he revealed his real concern: I learned later he was going to be late picking up his daughter. I explained that I was already numb and preferred to proceed with the treatment, but this only seemed to frustrate him more. He abruptly stormed out of the room, declaring the appointment over and instructing me to leave. Feeling confused and hurt, I asked a nurse to help mediate. I said we weren't understanding each other, and surely, as adults, we could work it out. Still, the dentist refused to return. I remained calm, never raised my voice or acted disrespectfully; I only asked for clarification about why he had decided to stop the treatment when it had already begun. His response was to have the police escort me out. The stress of the situation, combined with my heart condition, ultimately landed me in the ER. I prayed for him to reconsider and find a compromise, but instead, he blamed me for making him late to pick up his daughter. I reminded him that this was his issue, not mine. He had the power to dismiss me as a patient, but his actions became an ethical dilemma. I noticed that he continued treating other, healthier patients without issue and only forced me to leave--an 81-year-old with significant health challenges. To me, his motives weren't pure. He used his authority to bully a vulnerable patient instead of treating the situation with compassion and professionalism. I was willing to compromise, but he insisted I couldn't make him treat me. He was right about that--I couldn't force him to do anything. But I left without understanding what I had done wrong. This was an ethical failure. A dentist who chooses to work with elderly patients or individuals with disabilities has a responsibility to treat them with dignity and care. My time and health were of no concern to him. His priority was elsewhere, and his dismissal of me felt less about scheduling and more about the power he held. While I could have simply walked away, I believe he must be held accountable for his actions. He got flustered when I continued to tell him I didn't understand and I would wait the extra time . What a terrible situation for all including his staff who had more compassion than he did.

This review is specifically for the stockton family denistry located in Columbia SC…read more I would not recommend this business. The staff do not seem to understand how or care enough to do their job properly. I came here for a cleaning, xrays, and had a tooth filled that had a cavity. Later I was notified that i was responsible for a $700 bill that my insurance was refusing to cover. When I asked the claims specialist why the claim was rejected she let me know that its not her job to find out why and i would need to reach out to my insurance company. My insurance company let me know they only denied the claim because there were billing errors listed on the claim and it was submitted multiple times. They had already sent the dental office this information and were even willing to reach out to them again. The concerning part is the claims specialist didn't even take the time to follow up on the claim before sending me the bill and instead of taking accountability she acted as if it was no fault of hers when things were settled. The bill came out much less than $700 and i didn't owe them for any out of pocket expenses. Also the hole in my tooth wasn't filled properly. I had to go to another dental office to have the procedure redone. I didn't mind the loud club music they were playing though it seemed unprofessional for medical care. I could handle the poor attitude of the staff but, I can't compromise on getting quality dental care. I learned this is not the place for it.

Walking in Ms. Alyssa and Ms. Marie welcomed me and got me checked in. Then Ms. Lacey came and brought me back she had me take a seat and explained what was going to happen. The purple napkin and the silly jelly with some gauze. That sat on there for a few minutes and then Doctor Yarborough she came in and said good morning and talked about what was gonna happen before it did but like in a way that I could understand. Then it was time to have the numbing shot, which unfortunately, for me is the worst part, thankfully this is a place with amazing people where they don't see it as that instead they see it as someone being a brave person that's just really nervous. And they find ways to help people get through that whether if it's with laughing gas, it's with iv sedation it's with medicine or in my case with turning on the TV and having somebody stay in the room and just talk and hold your hands. And that's exactly what happened for Me , Fuller house on the TV, and Ms. Gabby just talk to me while holding my hands, helped me while Ms. Lacey and Doctor Yarborough fixed my tooth, they all were telling me that I was doing a great job. She told me everything she was going to do, so there were no surprises, and before I knew it, I was done. Everybody was super supportive, kind, caring, even with some tears. They helped me with my tooth. Ms.Marie was able to check me out upfront and I was on my way with a half crooked smile on the account that my face was still numb from it being fixed! Don't worry it went back to normal. This isn't just a dentist's office. This is a dentist, family who really cares about their patients, takes the time to help them feel comfortable, confident, and brave, even if they're a little scared and walk out with an awesome smile!
