The kitchen was very well equipped, and I love to cook so that worked out incredibly well for everyone. The Ranch has a story - Bill and Gretchen are incredibly welcoming and warm and will share their love of the Ranch with their guests. We loved spending some time talking about the history of the Ranch with them; it's clear they love and respect the land their Ranch sits upon, and rightfully so. The Ranch abuts the Saguaro National Park, and the views are spectacular, right from your very own rocking chairs on the porch. The trails are amazing around the ranch and the flora is so beautiful in the spring. Anyone who hasn't seen this desert in spring must take a trip to experience this unexpected beauty. Even their horses in the meadow are welcoming. They have a darling "community center" that has a pool table and table shuffleboard with a few tables to sit around. Gretchen even set out home-baked cookies (and they are award winningly delicious) for guests. The birds sing and you can hear the buzz of nature, while the winds blow the palo verde and flowers. Cactus bloom unexpectedly vibrant colors. It's incredibly peaceful and soothing to the soul. There was a lot of sketching and painting going on with our family around the ranch, with an inspirational vista at every turn, trail, and casita. We are already planning our next trip back. What a beautiful experience and thank you to Bill and Gretchen for building this lovely destination and creating this "little slice of heaven" for their guests!

The property is wonderful with its very own grapefruit tree in the yard. The owner is pleasant and the price is reasonable for the location. The only thing I can say that would be a concern to some is the shower in the suite we were in, the Elegant Deco Room. It follows the pitch of the roof and has a low ceiling. With the shower head coming from above it will be difficult for tall people to shower comfortably. I am 5'9" and the shower heads is extremely low. Also worth noting, while the owner said the neighborhood is extremely safe we encountered some strange behavior from Tucson residents. While driving back from a concert around midnight I almost ran over a drunk that was laying partially on the curb and partially on the street in front of the house. Very bizarre and I was glad to have missed them on a rather dark street. The room was clean and comfortable with ample room to stretch out. The Kuerig was a nice touch, too. We will stay here again.

Comfortable Bed, Dusty Room, Dangerous Stairs, Dilapidated Furniture -…read moreWe stayed in 'Uncle Duke's Room'. The king bed & pillows proved to be one of the most comfortable of any of the hotels we stayed at for the 2 weeks we toured Arizona - including the luxury hotels! (topped only by the bed at Grand Canyon's Thunderbird Lodge - see our other reviews if interested) That's a big plus for this B&B. I was dismayed at the layer of fine dust over every surface - including the tops of the night stands which anyone would be bound to notice. There were a couple of dead flies on the window sills - in plain sight when we went to turn on the air conditioning - which rattled gustily but worked. I was happy to sit in the leather wing chair & prop my feet up on the ottoman with the a/c blasting away but my husband couldn't get comfortable on either side of the room due to the a/c by the chair & the wobbly table & broken lamp sitting in front of the a/c on the other side. He was also turned off by the stuffing showing through the cracked leather. The bare wall facing the bed with the wall mounted fan & large TV & cables stole some of the room's charm too. Despite us both being ~ 6' tall, the bedroom ceiling was fine. We thought our bathroom was across a private hall - ie no one else would see us but its in front of another bedroom & visible to all visitors to the floor. The sharp slant of the shower made taking a shower impossible for either of us. I tried taking a tub bath the first night & the last morning but despite letting the water run for 20 mins - there was NO hot or warm water to be had. The sink's hot water supply was almost instant. My husband's clearest memory is the difficulty navigating the corner of the staircase to our 2nd level bedroom. The staircase has a sharp turn to the left; 3 treads fan from a 2" barely there width to tippy toe only width against the wall - too big a distance to just skip over. The room had a keurig machine altho sparse supplies - which was fine - we travel with our own. The mini frig was a welcome sight. My husband went down to the exterior building that houses the kitchen both mornings for a bite to eat - which he enjoyed. The hostess was friendly & very chatty. We did have trouble finding the house when we arrived after dark - couldn't see any house numbers but a nice neighbor pointed us to the correct house. Parking is on the street right in front. The price was inexpensive at $120/night. Having a comfortable night's rest is so important but there were too many negatives that are management-oriented for us to recommend this hotel.

There are other complaints on-line and roadblocks by Mr. Caylor for deserved refunds. His pest invalid to claim there arent bedbugs was insulting and invalid.. The Pest Company, Amy, and Rob had 3 different conflicting false stories--none of them were compliant with National Pest Management Association and local Pima County Health Department search standard protocols. We saw Blenman's Amy strip our bed and remove the sheets before we left. Rob Caylor didnt argue that we werent bitten, so he claimed they couldnt find a bedbug. Protocol is that you dont strip beds and clean a room, prior. We gave Amy a live bed bug in a glass, that I caught on strolling on my pillow. She saw the bedbug--it saw Amy.She saw our bites, gave us Neosporin-type salve, apologized--but later Amy denied this. They have a 14 Day in advance cancellation notice policy, that Rob Caylor tried to hide behind, to not issue our deserved refund. Thats invalid. I didnt know we would be bitten up 14 days in advance. We had to leave, immediately, due to "Non Habitability." with Notice, accepted by Amy. Truthfulness matters. The owners, in my opinion are demonstrably not. If you are looking for a clean flop house this is it. If you are looking for a quality vacation forget it. The neighbors would idle their motorcycles for 30 minutes at 5am before they would take off. One neighbor would bring home his refer semi truck home for lunch and leave both running which were extremely loud and obnoxious. I was awakened once by rap music at 3am! Twice my apartment was entered without my permission during my one month stay. Couch was very uncomfortable and gave me a back ache. The appliances were purchased 2nd hand or were the cheapest I have ever seen. The refrigerator, washer and dryer were extremely loud. The stove top was almost unusable because the burners would not lay flat. The one owner, Cindy, was extremely combative and not understanding about any sort of complaint and loved to chortle that, "We are owners and are very proud of the 6 units we built." Well, the pride certainly didn't extend to the cut rate furnishings in the apartment and the non gracious, belligerent attitude!

I learned that Geaduate is a boutique chain in which each location selects a school, a city's vibe, and pop culture to guide its decor, so now I want to visit them all. I am so impressed with how the interior designers pulled the theme into the little details of the decor. The decor made me so happy. I will admit I am a plant person, so anytime plants are used well in decor, I am happy, and this place had cacti in lots of little and big spaces. I think the Graduate should create a digital and maybe physical hall pass that gets stamped at each unique boutique location, kind of like the national park pass book or the state capital building passbook. We were here for pleasure, and the friendly hotel staff greeted us every time we walked in or out. Cleanliness & Maintenance: The staff keeps this place spotless. We were lucky enough to have the Mountain View, and it was spectacular. I love the colors, which complement the dessert landscape. Our bathroom was well stocked, and your knees don't hit anything when you sit down to pee. The shower is spacious, and the water pressure is high. Location Relevance: The Graduate at Tucson is walking distance (less than a mile) to the University of Arizona, which I learned is the Wildcats. You can walk to some restaurants, shopping, and bars. We were there when school was not in session, so there was a normal number of people everywhere.

UPDATE -- Nearly One Year Later…read more I wanted to update this review now that we know what actually happened. Police ultimately identified and arrested an employee of the valet company in connection with the theft of my husband's truck. We learned that the keys were taken during the night and the truck was stolen. We also learned this was not an isolated incident--there was a group involved in vehicle thefts in the area, including at this Hilton and the neighboring Marriott, which used the same valet company. What makes this even more upsetting is that Hilton has done absolutely nothing for us. From the beginning, the hotel distanced itself from the situation, telling us the valet was a third-party company and essentially not their responsibility. We were paying guests and Hilton Diamond members. We handed our keys to the valet service operating at their hotel, and that service parked our truck in an overflow lot without cameras. Our truck was then stolen by someone working for that valet company. Almost a year later, there has been no meaningful accountability or attempt by Hilton to make this right. After everything we learned about what actually happened, I stand by my original one-star review and would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one week in a spacious and well-equipped two-bedroom unit. Temperature highs were mostly in the 60s and low 70s, making it easy to enjoy the attractions of the Tucson area as well as the resort's outdoor amenities. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are also within a few miles. Location. The resort is in a very quiet location but is convenient to most anything that you might want or need in the area. My husband and I loved the vibe of the area, with wide slow-moving double-laned streets, bike lanes, and many sidewalks, which encourage a lot of the locals to be out walking and biking. We regularly used the resort pool and spacious jacuzzi tub, and walked some of the nearby Virtoso Trails Nature Preserve trails, as well as those of Honeybee Canyon Park, both of which in the Oro Valley and close to the resort. There were stunning sunsets viewable from the resort on most nights. We also used the resort as our base for exploring the Tucson environment -- a drive up to Mt Lemmon/the Coronado National Forest/Catalina State Park; Sabino Recreation Area; both the eastern and western units of Saguaro National Park; Casa Grande Ruins National Monument,, and more. The unit. Our two-bedroom unit was very comfortable, and well-appointed. Six people could stay here comfortably. There was a huge bed in the main bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom, and a large Murphy bed near the dining table. The kitchen was full-sized and stocked with everything you might need -- fridge/freezer, range/oven, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates/bowls/cups/glasses/knives/utensils, cabinet space for groceries, and even commonly-used spices. Other great features in the unit included a cozy electric fireplace, a patio that had a small table/chairs and a grill and a combo washer/dryer (and starter laundry detergent) in the unit. Communications were excellent, at check-in and in a follow-up phone call to see if we needed anything. Parking was free and directly outside of our unit. Critters. Upon check-in, we were given a handout to remind us that the resort is located in the Sonoran Desert, which is home to many desert critters -- rattlesnakes, javelina, coyote, scorpions & tarantulas, and bobcats. In addition to basic information about the wildlife, the resort provided information about urgent care resources in the area. We're happy to report that we didn't see any poisonous or dangerous creatures, whether on-site or in hiking in Honey Bee, the Sequoga National Park, or the Mt. Lemmon trails. (We did see a coyote in a Phoenix park though). A few minor things worth mentioning. *This resort charges an occupancy tax, which was disclosed at the time of reservation. The tax was $50+ for the week. *When we logged-on to Wi-Fi in the room, we were met by a screen that informed us that Wi-Fi would cost $49.95 for 3 devices for 10 days or $69.95 for 6 devices. Surprised by these charges, my husband called the resort, and were pleasantly surprised when we were given a code that erased the charges. *Some gold crown resorts have jacuzzis in the unit; this one does not. *The tv in the living room is small, but appropriately-sized for its current location. *It'd probably time to upgrade the couches. We alternatively sunk into the cushions or were sliding off. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Tucson area.
