Rob (Desert Jool owner) is an outstanding resource to help design and plant the perfect desert oasis. I knew I wanted my redesigned backyard space to feel like a luxury resort but I didn't think I'd find the right combination of price, selection, and expertise. Desert Jool was exactly the place I was looking for. Rob invited me out to the palm ranch and I was blown away by the variety and the incredible prices. Rob arranged for shipment as well as installation. Because of my house location (in the hills above Palm Springs) as well as my particular land design (in a boulder field) the planting was a bit challenging. Was shopping for a Date Palm and after contacting several nurseries and growers found Rob at Desert Jool Farms. Rob sent me numerous pictures of the various palms (male dates, zahidis, medjools, etc..), educating me on the characteristics of each and providing recommendations for my application/climate. Being rather persnickety about my palms, I arranged to meet Rob at his farm to personally select my palm. Rob gave me a tour of his farm, further explaining about the various date palms (frond color and size, canopy density, trunk size etc..). I've had some bad luck in recent years, losing a Canary Island Date Palm to fusarium wilt and then losing its replacement (butia) because of a less than perfect nursery. Understandably, I needed reassurance before buying more palms and Rob & the folks at Desert Jool Farms made my decision an easy one.
