This was the most fabulous ATV adventure we have ever had! Bob was an incredible host taking us through the most beautiful parts of outer Tuscon. It was breathtaking, exhilarating and so fun! We had a few first timers in our group of friends and Bob ensured they felt comfortable before we took off, he explained how it worked and patiently answered all questions. Throughout our adventure, he would stop and look back to ensure everyone was right behind him! Our boys are still raving about that day and we can't wait to return. Next time, we want to explore his silver mine too! We highly recommend Desert Adventures Vail. It's a short picturesque ride out of Tucson and worth the short drive! read more

What an AWESOME day! Bob, the owner and guide, was super friendly and knowledgeable. It's obvious that he loves his land and all the goodies (mines) that comes with it. He is a great storyteller. Explore a working 150 year old silver mine and ride ATVs thru the high desert.

History

Established in 2017.

Our back yard is a mountain range and our front yard is 500 square miles of conservation land where no one can ever build, Explore a 150 year old working silver mine. You get a hammer, chisel and 5 gallon pail to hammer off silver ore, blue opal, malachite, aurichalcite and many other minerals off the walls The mine tour can be done separately from the ATV tour, or ATV tour separately, or both tours back to back. After the mine tour, we go out into the high desert to explore some other old silver mines, enjoy the beautiful landscapes and talk about the history of this area. ATV tours are $120.00 per person or back to back tours are $120.00 per person.

Meet the Business Owner: Bob M.

I bought this land with 10 silver mines on it in 2017. Soon as I saw the old mine, I knew I had to restore it to it's former glory, and so the process begins. After being in AZ in 1980, I knew I was going to retire out here. Truth be told, I work harder now than I did before I was retired. Everyday we find artifacts that were lost or left behind in these mine shafts as well as other old silver mines. The origional assayers office is 50' from my shop and while metal detecting, I found a small silver coin from Sweden from 1859. These are not only mine shafts but there is a cave system that runs throughout this area. The geology and minerals change from mine to mine. We have pulled out some beautiful mineral samples of silver ore, blue opal, aurichalcite, malachite, colored quarts, green and pink flourite and many other great specimins. This is a physiclly demanding tour so please keep that in mind while booking the tour.

We met Bib in March if 2020 prior to the world shutting down. He was very knowledgeable and had alot of information. The mine tour was amazing and completely unexpected as we had not planned for that. We were beyond satisfied with our experience and the beautiful views we encountered. read more
