Scheduled an appointment based on yelp reviews. Maybe it was just a bad day but the girl at the front desk was rude and not even a smile. Made me nervous right away. Then I went to a room and the girl was nice enough but did not even look at my skin or try to evaluate just gave me some brochures. The one technician that I had there, Shauna, was very helpful. She knew a lot about all of the facial procedures and the right products to buy for our skin tone. Faith offered me a free radiance peel since I hadn't been here in like three years and it started me on the best zo obagi skin regimen for hypo pigmentation which is very difficult to treat. I was really surprised by how genuine and friendly the customer service was! My previous experiences at other beauty studios have been impersonal and lacking that sincerity you seek when someone is giving you recommendations for facial treatments. The lady (I can't remember her name, maybe Lauren or Sarah) who did my consultation for botox was very real and honest which I loved. She didn't try to oversell me and took the time to walk me through the entire process which was really nice and hasn't ever really happened in previous appointments at other studios. I've had botox 2 times before and at the other studio they "said" they gave me 35 units on my forehead but I never believed that they actually gave me this amount that they charged me for. When I was at my appointment at DermFx, she was very transparent and answered all of my questions regarding my hesitations at my previous studio. I guess overall I would highly recommend DermFx as they really took the time to listen to you and walk you through options/process of different treatments. After my appointment, they even did a follow up call to check-in and see how everything was working- I was pretty impressed by this as well. Not only this, but I also received a letter in the mail with a little gift for my next visit. I love this place! The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. I was able to make an appointment with no issues. And I was excited when I showed up, we did the services I requested right away( I thought I would have to make another appointment). I was very pleased with my results from Dysport in the forehead area. The only thing that was confusing was that they quoted me a price twice as much as what my friend paid for. I wanted exactly what she got because she still had some movement in her forehead and it looked very natural. After a discussion, they finally agreed to do the same treatment as my friend got. Do not get any type of injections (Botox etc.) here. This place is unbelievable. I had an emergency pimple and needed a Kenalog injection. It's just a simple steroid shot that makes a bad pimple go away in less than 24 hours. I had received one of these before at my usual skincare place but they couldn't fit me in and it was an emergency. The place I usually go charges $15. To my horror, this place charged $50. The next day my whole face was swollen because they injected the entire syringe. The one other experience I have to compare to, I received injections for 2 pimples using the same syringe and they still threw away a good half-inch worth of product. I can only conclude this place is extremely overpriced on all services and inexperienced with injections. Don't risk something so serious as injections on a place like this. read more

It was great until it wasn't. The last combo of Botox and Disport went seriously wrong. Sonya, the nurse, is obviously clueless about muscles other than the ones on your forehead. My jaw is paralyzed, I have difficulty biting into anything larger than a cookie, laughing, swishing the Listerine !, and chewing in general. What was supposed to be a gentle dose of Botox to keep my chin from moving, turned into a freak face. I am beyond upset! If you do not know how to do something , say it...you are dealing with human faces! And after I called the office to find out how much Botox did she distribute in my chin area, the receptionist came back and said 3 units of Disport...totally false...which is even more infuriating. Follow up in a week, your face might even out...I wonder if they know what Botox is and how it works...it will take three months for me to lose this hideous face, not a week! read more

I love DermFx!!! I was referred by a friend who thought that I should give the place a try. I went in for a Vi Peel, and the HCG. When I first got there the appearance of the place was very nice. It is very upscale, classy, cozy and makes you feel at home. The receptionist Debra was GREAT!!!! She welcomed me, her attitude was awesome, she answered any questions that I had and just made me feel very comfortable. She is also beautiful!!! I hate walking into places similar and the person looks like who did it and why and like why are you working at a place for corrective issues and you dont correct anything yourself....LOL j/k but IJS. I was serviced by Andrea. She is also Fantastic. I have loved all of the treatments, and procedures that I have had and would recommend DermFx to anyone who wants great personalities, great service, and a nice location. read more

I love Derm FX, especially the one in Redondo Beach. The staff there is friendly and down to earth, unlike many of their pretentious competitors. The spa is cute and quaint. It definitely mirrors its local area. I am fairly new to the med spa experience, and they explained the entire process. I believe it was Elizabeth that gave me my filler, and she was great. She is a down-to-business kind of girl. I appreciated that she didn't chat my ear off about her life as she was injecting my face. :) I loved that she was so careful and professional, and really took her time to make me look my best. I am in love with Elizabeth! I put off having my aging lips "defined" for over a year for fear of breaking out in fever blisters. This fear is well based, since I can bump my lips with my toothbrush and get a hum dinger for a week! A friend recommended Elizabeth, so I blocked the week, warned my husband of 33 years, and went for it. AFTER THREE DAYS MY LIPS ARE PERFECT!!! Ever since dermfx got a new manager, the place is not near as good. The first 5 times I went in for Dysport, it last 4 months. The last 2 times it didn't even last a month!! I called and they explained that if you work out, it will not last as long! I asked around other places and was told the had never heard that before, and it was not true! I have a feeling they are watering down their product, to make more money by having you come back more often. Also, Elizabeth is no longer there and hasn't been for over a year. My experience was awesome!!!! It was my very first visit and it was great from beginning to end. I was greeted by a wonderful receptionist who was courteous and professional. My technician was Stephanie she too was courteous and professional. After completing my paper work I was placed in a room and I wasn't kept waiting. My technician explained the minor process of laser treatment, asked several questions regrading my prior treatment experience and made me feel really at ease about the process. I explained that several years before I was treated by a Dr. in Inglewood who burned my face so badly that I had blisters and discoloration on my face, it was HORRIBLE!!!! My treatment with Stephanie was virtually painless and needless to say NO BURN and no hair growth in 3 weeks. I may revise my review after a few more visits, but there were a few things that leave me questioning the service. I, too, purchased a deal from Living Social. I've only had one visit so this is based off of that one visit. The office is clean and everyone is very friendly. I purchased the $5 numbing cream and it worked like a charm. This is where I get a little...uneasy. The technician didn't wear gloves. There may have been a sink in the room, I'm not sure because she didn't use it to wash her hands either before or after the treatment. I am going to assume that they clean the laser "gun" but I wouldn't know because again I didn't see it happen. She just stuck it back in the machine. Next time I'll ask more questions like "who cleans that thing?" and "it is not customary to wear gloves in situations like this?" I'll update my review after my second visit. read more

A few years back I would regularly go to the Dermfx in Sunset Beach when I lived in that area and always had a great experience. I was really excited to find out there was a Dermfx in The South Bay. Three days ago I went in and had 20 units of botox done on my forehead frown lines and 6 units in my forehead. Today my eyelids are beyond droopy. I had mentioned that this had happen to me one time before (way less severely than whats going on now and only on one eye) and the nurse, Jennifer, seemed to take extra care to make sure it wouldn't happen. Well it did, and its pretty severe and I'm beyond heartbroken because I'm a bride with my bachelorette, bridal shower and wedding all in less than the 3 months it will take for this to go away. Events that I'm suppose to feel beautiful at, I will be self conscious and feel ugly. I've never had botox kick in this quickly which would normally be awesome except my eyelids are drooping awfully. Spend the extra money to have an actual doctor administer the injections, its seriously not worth the chances of this happening. read more

Very poor first impression. I had an appointment for a consult, but when I arrived the receptionist walks out with goo all over her face to ask me to come back 45 minutes later because they were doing a training. Why they would start a training when they had an appointment scheduled to come in is anybody's guess. She must have assumed I had nothing better to do because she was very nonchalant about it. It was so disrespectful of my time, and a terrible first impression. When I am in my car, she runs out of the office to ask me to come back in, but I had to turn her down. There are dozens of other places in the South Bay with excellent customer service that value their client's time, why waste your time here? read more
