I called Babcock dermatology about an important issue I had very early in the day. I called back later in the day and was told they are very busy and nurses do call backs at the end of the day. NO one called me back. I am not used to Dr. Babcock's staff not being timely and showing concern. When I have reached out to them over the years they seemed to convey concern for my issues and be proactive when I called the office. I asked the office staff if I could possibly be fit in for an appointment that week because the nurses hadn't called me back and it was a serious issue. They told me only the nurses can help with that. Keep in mind I could not get them on the phone. I called back again the next day and the nurse said they had the information for me because of my voice messages. However, when I gave them information for my issue and reason for calling they didn't seem to have an idea who I was. Fortunately, when I did get them on the phone they were able to get me in the office that day. Which was great! I appreciated that. When I was at the appointment there seemed to be over ten people or maybe just a few less working in the back. However, I'm wondering if all these people are there why I couldn't even get a callback saying they would get back to me or anything. Maybe they did not work the day before. In addition, I am not sure what there positions are. The PA I saw was knowledgeable and the service was good as usual at my appointment. I was hesitant to see someone else because I normally only have appointments with Dr. Babcock who is a wonderful doctor. I have been going to her office for over 10 years years plus. The people at the front desk and addition staff (i.e, nurses) seemed to be more white gloved before which I extremely appreciated. However, it seemed to be People that I was familiar with. Currently, it seems to be quite a few new people in the office in general. I am not sure if they have so many patients now it is affecting their ability to deal with patients timely and in a more concerned manner. The office may have more turnover. I'm not sure about their hiring practices. I am just speculating why the service I received was different. To be clear the medical treatment here is good and the physicians I have seen have been good which is probably the most important thing. However, the office staff experience was disappointing. read more

This dermatology practice was once one of the premier offices in Sandy Springs 15 or so years ago. Unfortunately, over the past two years, I have noticed a significant decline in the overall patient experience, including customer service, office appearance, and attention to detail. I want to recognize the current physician assistant, who was outstanding. She was thorough, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. She provided excellent care and was the highlight of my visit. Unfortunately, the support staff appeared disengaged and lacked the warm, welcoming hospitality that patients expect. Small touches that once elevated the experience, such as complimentary water, were no longer available. The office itself also appeared to be in need of attention. Air dryers were positioned at the entrance, seemingly addressing water damage, several paintings were peeling, and the waiting room chairs appeared worn and unclean. It seemed that much of the clinical staff consisted of interns, which contributed to a less polished experience. It is disappointing to see such a noticeable decline in what was once an exceptional practice. While I appreciate the excellent care provided by the physician assistant, the overall experience has left me questioning whether I should continue as a patient. I sincerely hope the practice restores the high standards that once made it one of the area's best. So sad. read more

I gave this practice the benefit of the doubt for a year. I chose Babcock Dermatology because it seemed it might have more of an intimate setting. Maybe a practice that doesn't treat you as a number. This was quite the contrary. Below are some reasons why I am leaving and why you might want to avoid this practice. Wait times: You will wait every-time you arrive for your appointment. Not 5 minutes but more like 30-40 mins. Billing: Prices are outrageous and inconsistent, even for routine clinical visits or prescription refill visits (with commercial insurance). If you call to clarify what is on bill, you will be met with poor/rude customer service and very little explanation. There isn't even a link on the the paper statement that directs you where to pay. I received a bill after only a few weeks of my visit with a hand written message threatening to send me to collections. Experience with providers: The providers are ok. I got the feeling that they were just checking boxes. They would ask me questions that were already addressed in previous visits losing track of the continuum of care. I found it to be very frustrating to have to constantly remind them why I was there. In addition, they could never get the pharmacy correct. I told them several times in-person and over the phone where medications should be sent. If you have a question about your medication or where it is being sent, you will often be sent straight to an answering service. Sometimes I would get a call back but more often than not I would have to make follow up calls or just show up in-person. This practice has an opportunity to stand out in a landscape increasingly filled with impersonal volume driven clinics. Unfortunately, their focus is more on money and less about the patient experience. Sad read more

Inconsistent pricing/billing met with despicable customer service. Yelp is asking me to write more characters but the only way I can sum this up is by letting the public know that if you choose to get treated at this practice, you will enter a whirlwind of poor customer service and billing issues. Save your sanity and look elsewhere. read more

They are fantastic!! Their products are amazing. I would highly recommend them and their spa. Everyone on the staff is so sweet.

Best dermatologist in atlanta, been going to this location for 4 years! Best staff that is always very professional

This place is awful. They tell you one price, then charge you another. You request something basic like for them to approve a refill and they refuse and make you come back in (and I had certainly been seen within the last year, less than six months actually) At the end of the day, they are much more focused on making a buck than they are on their patients. read more

This is the best dermatology office ever! I have been a patient for four years. I started coming to them in my early sixties because of getting too much sun as a teen and 20-something. I am completely confident that Dr. Babcock and her team will keep my skin healthy. She is well-educated and experienced. I have always felt welcome. It is not fun to consider the possibility that I could have skin cancer but I know this team will take care of me if I ever do. read more

My primary care doctor recommended this doctor office. Allison Williams is an amazing physician assistant! I typically prefer being under the care of a physician, but it was more convenient for me to see Ms. Williams and I'm glad I did. I was having acne issues and she got me right. I wanted a care routine that was simple and not over complicated. She prescribed three prescriptions. They use a third party pharmacy because acne treatment is often considered cosmetic. One prescription was pricey and upon my request they took the extra step to contact a second pharmacy and got a cheaper price (and applied a coupon). The nurse also provided me with samples in the event I had to wait for prior approval from my medical insurance. Overall, Ms. Williams had a pleasant demeanor and I had a great vibe upon meeting her. I'll admit I was hesitant due to reviews I read for this doctor office, but I had a great experience. I saw results of my acne improving within the first week of adopting my new facial cleaning routine. read more

I've have been seeing Alison for a couple years for disport injections in my forehead. It is $280 a visit. Last time I was there I asked her 2 questions. She answered them looked at a wart she had treated twice that was not gone. She gave me a phone number for a compound pharmacy and the other stuff she looked at and said nothing can be done. I left and paid $280. A few weeks later I got a bill for a office visit. When I called they said because I asked questions I was charged $100.03 for a office visit. I had no idea that questions were an extra hundred dollars when I was already in the office paying almost $300. This is very upsetting and I will never be going back. When I told the office manager that she said okay good and hung up on me. read more

Babcock Dermatology is terrific; the entire care team works hard to get you in and out quickly, but I never feel rushed or inadequately cared for. And Dr. Babcock is a great provider, read more

Once in a great while I run across an occasion(s) that I feel should be recognized. Having had a rare skin disorder for multiple years with no cure nor even solid treatment I found Dr. Babcock. Her staff are just what you need: smart, informed, dedicated and the added touch is they are nice and actually have personalities (often rare these days). Dr. Babcock herself is extremely pleasant and confident. She listens well, has a "two way conversation" (a much appreciated bonus for any doctor) with you and thoroughly explains what treatment or procedure she recommends. We have tried a new treatment for my skin disorder. Even if this does not work for me I am forever grateful for the step forward in trying to find relief. I 100% recommend Dr. Babcock and her staff. You will be in good hands. read more

This doctor was dreadful. She talked to me for 5 minutes. I asked her what I could do about the spots on my knees - she laughed in my face and said "stop cleaning while on your knees." The assistant was much more helpful to me - she said to just use vaseline, and then she took my tags off for $100. When I asked the doctor about my hair loss - she handed me a questionnaire and said "I don't have time for this. I have other patients.Make another appointment." And she walked out of the door smirking. I will never go there again!! This treatment and the 5 minute nonadvice by this doctor costed me $121! read more

Dr. Babcock is EXCELLENT and so is the young man that assisted her for my and my husband's appointment. PA Meredith Brazell and her assistant are racist beyond belief and the completely opposite experience. It's a good thing I had been seen by the owner before this last visit else I'd never return to this office ever again because of her. She's needs to be fired and the woman assisting her during Ruža's appointment too because they are going to get this place sued. I encountered such racism taking my mother in law to the dermatologist Tuesday 01/28/2020. We saw the namesake owner when my husband and I went to our appointment previously, but saw a physician assistant for the mother in law's appointment (and I'm the one that made the appointment because of how great Dr. Babcock was) and first PA Brazell's intake assistant asked me my relation to the patient, then instead of just waiting on me to answer, she assumed I was the nurse... I was really wondering why she jumped past wife or daughter, the normal logical assumptions, to nurse, or why better yet she didn't just shut up after asking the question and let me speak for myself and answer it. I'm dressed in unprofessional clothes NOTHING like a nurse uniform and if I was white she would have assumed I was the wife or the daughter, but because I'm the only black person in the party, my husband and mither in law being white, she assumed I'm the hired help. Then the PA the appointment is with comes in and after ignoring me when I answer her initial questions until my mother in law finally tells her she doesn't speak English so she was forced to turn and address me as she should have been from the moment she heard me answer the first question, she spends the entire appointment trying to get our unpronounceable last name right even though I told her she can just use my mother in law's first name... Then calls me MONICA instead of Michelle as she's about to leave. I glared at her and corrected her immediately. I'm black I must be the hired help, I'm black so you can't bring yourself to turn around and show some respect when I'm speaking to you and address your questions to me until the patient forces you to even though I was the only one volunteering answers and obviously the best English speaker in the room, and I'm black so even though I am the person listed on ALL her paperwork and the name listed as her emergency contact information and I have the easiest most common first name to pronounce of the 3 of us, AND she had just been speaking to me (obviously against her will) most of the appointment, she can kill herself to get Bajraktarević right but Michelle was just irrelevant to bother remembering (and instead of just asking what's your name again she purposely says the wrong name entirely as if to make the point of how much she's been trying to ignore my existence as much as possible the entire appointment)? Compared to the thoroughly professional appointments me and my husband had with the owner there before with ZERO of these issues, the racism in the way I alone in that room was repeatedly mistreated was obvious. Especially since as the only other female present for the patient besides the patient, and already printing my SAME LAST NAME AS THE PATIENT all over her paperwork, and dressed in such casual shirt jeans and sandals, it was pretty well obvious from the start I wasn't her bloody NURSE and related to her, and if you can get my last name right you know my first name quite easily but choose to pretend it was so difficult for you... but no, your racial biases are so hard to control in a place of business that you must choose to find a way to disrespect my presence further. read more

Never called in my prescription, or asked to reschedule second appointment after Dr requested.

Rude response from Dr.Babcock- Expect this kind of behavior in the office. Three visits is enough to know. She looked at my leg when she came in the office to look at the broken machine. I wasn't sold on "manual massage", I was sold on something that I didn't get. And that "guarantee" isn't a happiness guarantee, it's if you are within a couple pounds difference guarantee. You make it sound like it's my fault for not coming back in but why would I come back in after the initial treatment was humiliating and expensive? read more

I had the most amazing experience getting my very first facial ever at Babcock! I opted for the Hydro Facial and while I was in the waiting area I saw a woman who had just gotten her Hydro Facial and her skin was straight up glowing, so hydrated. I was pumped for mine! My technician, Kelly, was so great and very attentive to my skin's needs since my face is very sensitive. After the four step process of the facial and the red light treatment to help with toning redness my face has never looked better! Everyone complimented me on my "glowing" skin and my face has never felt better. The results lasted awhile and I can't wait to get another one! read more

I'm not getting any younger and my hereditary predisposition to moles and spots is really starting to show. Since more of these things are popping up, I figured it was time to get them checked, since I haven't always been as serious about sunscreen as I am now. I found BD through my insurance, and was pleased at how they scheduled my appointment for a full body scan when it was convenient for my physical with another practice in the building. I filled out the paperwork in advance, so it was just a short wait when I arrived at the office. A nurse asked for my health history before the PA did the full body visual scan. When they noticed something that look different, they asked if I'd like it removed immediately, or later. I had it taken care of them. They called with results within a week, and then due to the size, I had a follow up about 2 weeks later to remove the stitches. That visit was easily quick and painless. I received a bill in the mail about a month after everything was done, and I was able to call and pay over the phone. My receipt was then emailed to me. All in all a quiet basement office with friendly folks and efficient operation in my experience. read more

Dr Babcock is very sincere and serious about your skin She isn't an alarmist or a filler-pusher (both seem all too common these days). I was impressed that she partners with the Univ of Michigan so my skin photos can be stored and compared (yes, I am very moley moley and moley some more). They saved my eye! I called in with a question related to the pink eye diagnosis my primary care Dr. had given me, and after asking just a few questions, Dr. Babcock thought something didn't sound right and I might have shingles in my eye - I didn't even know that was a thing! She had me come in same day, and the excellent staff saw to me right away - and sure enough I had been misdiagnosed by my primary physician and Dr. Babcock and her PA got it right! It's VERY serious to have shingles around your eye and needs to be attended to immediately or you can literally lose vision in that eye. . .I couldn't be more thankful for their expertise, attentiveness, and getting me through a stressful and scary episode with the utmost in professionalism. THANK YOU! read more

I have been a patient of this practice for several years. I have always been treated well and the staff are very friendly. They are great about ensuring you can get an appointment quickly which is a rarity in healthcare. I have been seen by both Dr. Babcock and over the last few years had the pleasure to being followed by Amanda who is an amazing Physician Assistant. I'm a huge fan of Dr. Babcock! I had never been to a dermatologist before, never had the treatment I had done before. She was so warm and knowledgeable about the service I was requesting. I went in for the appointment, had a short consultation, and was given the treatment that day. She even saved me money! I had gone in requesting one service but during the consult, Dr. Babcock recommended an alternative solution that would be cheaper and often times seen as more effective. I knew right then that she legitimately cared for her patients and was not doing this for the money. The only negative was the wait - my appointment was at 11:30 and I was called back at 12:15. But it was short wait when I was called back, and I was out of there by 1. read more

Dr. Babcock was amazing with my 8 year old daughter. My daughter had a mole that was growing and I was concerned. She took her time and measured it and asked us a lot of questions. She presented is with all of the options available to us. My daughter wanted it removed. She took extra care in making sure that she could not feel anything and used the real stitches not the removable ones. I did not understand why until my daughter was playing basketball this weekend and got hit with the ball. Clearly, doctor knows best. She was amazing! Not sure about these other reviews as she took her time with us and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend her and her staff for all of your dermatology needs! read more

Dr. Babcock is awesome! She helped clear my face up...I get compliments all the time. Her staff is super friendly too!

Terrible client service. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. They are not responsive and don't return calls. If I hadn't called their office, I wouldn't have learned of my test results. Everyone seemed confused and to be guessing about my situation. Really not impressed at all. Customer No-Service. Look for another doctor. That's what I had to do. read more

If they cannot figure out how to properly submit a claim to your insurance what else can't they do right!?!?!

Came here on a whim and had a great experience. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and the location was very easy to find (with ample, free parking). I saw Kate, a PA part of Dr. Babcock's team and she was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything plainly and made sure I understood before moving on. She also gave me samples of their face wash and other products for my condition to test out before getting any prescriptions. Biggest perk of this office--they are open on Saturdays! They also list on their website all the insurance providers that are accepted. read more

That Friday that the doctor was not in-house turns out to be a rarity. In all the subsequent visits I have been treated well with minimal wait and attentive nursing. The procedure went out all right and the only concern I had further was that a new nurse didn't pull all the stitches out, which was quickly fixed in a subsequent visit. I still hold the opinion that some of the nursing staff are not of enough quality w.r.t. to Dr. Babcock, who has been very nice, attentive and professional. read more

Don't go there if you look like me! I just left after having an appointment for 3 weeks. Where I was told the doctor participates in my plan. The day of the appointment I received an email with a lot of information which included make sure your insurance will cover your bill. I thought nothing of it and continue to my visit. When I arrived I heard the front desk staff mumble about my insurance and that she had not seen it before. I clarified what type of insurance it was. I immediately felt like they wanted to provide service and then say my insurance didn't cover it. I asked if they participated in my plan and they refused to say yes. I asked for a manger ( Gayle) and she was not helpful and also refused to say they accepted my plan. I asked about their process as far as checking for eligibility and they refused to tell me what that process was. I left and will be reporting them to the insurance company. I hope the responses I received and lack of assistance would be the same for someone who does not look like me. read more
