Great doctors who really care. They are thorough without recommending costly procedures for no reason.

I am a patient carryover from the Total Hair & Body Medical Spa that this company merged with. My…read moreexperience here was very different than I was used to. First, the positives. This place has very nice décor with a proper lobby, and front-desk staff who are exceptional! Unfortunately, I was in the lobby for quite some time, with my appointment starting almost an hour behind schedule. No big deal, I don't mind waiting too much, but what I did mind was my actual appointment. I'm transgender. My laser tech started before taking me back for my preferred name and pronouns, that's nice and common courtesy when working with people you suspect are gender diverse. But this posturing did not reflect the rest of my time there. While going back, my tech asked if it's okay for someone to shadow me. Sure, why not. I go into the room and disrobe while the tech and man shadowing wait and talk outside. I was assuming that during the multiple minutes that she left me alone in there, she would have told him, "hey we are working with a gender diverse patient, so let's be cognizant of that" but it quickly became obvious that no such conversation was had. The man misgenders me a couple times and I shrug it off whatever. But when he said the words "brozilian" (literally wtf) it finally drew a distasteful reaction from me of "what" because even if you haven't been properly briefed on my orientation, I think that you could at least put two and two together considering I've both had extensive facial surgery (with a visible forehead scar) and I'm literally laying there basically naked in front of you with my boobs out. Come to later find out he was a nurse practitioner, so he should understand basic sexual dimorphism and understand that something was up, he is either the dumbest NP alive or purposefully malicious. After the Brazilian section was finished, the nurse practitioner guy got what he came for and left, so basically we rushed straight to my genital area for a person with a whole doctoral degree to sit and observe, and after my bits were done so was he. Definitely normal. Things started to better once we got back to a regularly paced full body laser session. Sure, the tech may talk to you in a tone of canned professionalism mixed with infantilization that would work perfectly on her sundowning elderly patients, but at least I didn't feel unsafe. Improvement. Things were going okay until about halfway through the procedure. First, she misgenders me but corrects herself saying "she'll work on it." What's the point of asking me my pronouns, if you don't make an actual mental note of it? It's not something I want you "to work on", it's basic respect that I expect you to just do. Whatever again I shrugged it off and continued to make small talk with her, when she asks out the blue "are you getting the surgery" to which I finally reacted with "yes, but that's not something that you just ask like that." She defended herself saying that she needed to know that for her job. Oh did you? Well maybe the correct time to ask that would be when you are actually doing that area, not 30 minutes later. So no, you were just being nosey, and no big deal, I'm an open book, but the tone and way that the question was asked just shut down the conversation for me. From there on out, I was purposefully very quiet and the room became awkward. She started to rush on me to get out of there quicker... finally something that we all could agree on. The only silver lining is that I am about done with my treatments here, thank goodness. Walking to my car in the pouring rain was more enjoyable than my horrible appointment.

As men & West Coast/WeHo/Venice Beach transplants, (and brand conscious consumers) we didn't expect…read moreto find the obviously highly experienced & locally respected "Dr. Z" as our East Coast injectable, botox Wizard. But he IS good! Almost always easy to get in @ Mtn Radiance. Just been in Asheville for almost a couple years, but never had a booking issue with Mtn. R. - even a few weeks before a major Holiday we seem to get in with easy scheduling. Dr. Z is fast (which we like), knows where to put the Botox and we're definitely giv'n him some stars *****! Botox/Injectables are the only things we've had from him so far, so that's all we can comment on, but we've read the reviews about hair removal and other offerings and won't hesitate when it's time for that. When you relocate from coast to (the other) coast, certain things you gotta know the location of right away (or actually, BEFORE you consider relocation :)... 1. Your favorite local watering hole, Coffee house (gotta love ODD'S on Haywood!), 2. Best and most progressive (and affordable) dentist (cosmetic & general - Dr. Bernier is the best in West Asheville & on Merrimon Ave. in North Ash too!), 3. Best Vietnamese dive (that's hard to get in at lunch on a Weds at 2:00) - ain't found it yet but we won't stop till we do ;(, and most importantly for us, rainbow flag carrying middle aged fellas...., 4. The best Botox place in town! That's Mtn. Radiance and "Dr. Z", no doubt. We are happy, very satisfied and highly recommend the place, and the man-doc and his quick-fix painless injectables. Yay!! Gotta love the quick, affordable and definitely essential Botox especially with his convenient and discreet in and out location! (If you're from West Coast, makes you wanna have a Lo-Carb Burger?) - Happy to recommend the Place & the Doc! Asheville is filled with little "West Coast-like Surprises". You just gotta look for them in all the nook and crannies, but Asheville is leaning brand-progressive and in spite of the Pandemic, we are finding our way around this little boutique, Appalachian town, with leading-edge angles, ideas, services and essentials. It's a "Southern 2020" for us and we are loving Asheville, N.C. West coast fellas can survive happily here, after all!

Mark and his staff are great. They can be a little chatty at times, but that's part of the fun…read more They have always been friendly and even helped me find coupons or specials for the services I've received. Mark did an excellent job with botox and talked with me about what I wanted. There was no pressure and no judgement. It has been a good experience for botox services.
