Well, I walked in because I am searching for a new dermatologist. The front was unattended and an employee walked into the office from outside. Since I was standing at the front, she had to walk by me, which meant she also had to notice me. What she didn't do was let anyone know that there was a client at the front. So I continue to stay in there. I finally noticed that there was another clearing desk if you walked inside the second door. I asked about the possibility of someone watching the front desk. Finally, a woman walked in from outside and casually took her seat. She was another employee I guess who I've seen outside and who would watch me walk in. her job was front desk. As far as I'm concerned, she didn't do her job very well. When I asked about the possibility of an appointment, the response I got was "what insurance do you have? "I was then told that this practice is currently out of network so I would be paying out-of-pocket if I were to go to this practice. I quickly thanked the woman and walked out the door. But I am switching gears because there are already so many bad reviews about that subject. Who the heck are hiring these employees and who are managing them ? Who ever it is is the problem, so I am assuming it is the current Dr. I sure hope this review gets to Dr Lebrecque so he can see what a mess his old office turned out to be. I brought my 2 year old daughter in for a mole on her cheek, right under her eye, that I just didn't like. Other doctors told me not to worry about it, family and friends told me it was "cute" but I just didn't like it, as it had changed and grown over the past year and I pressed her primary care doctor for a dermatology referral Dr. Labreque reviewed pictures I had taken over the past year, closely examined her mole and determined to take a biopsy. It came back as a rare atypical Spitz Nevus, which is a premelanoma. I'm so glad he took me seriously and took immediate action. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the front desk has a pretty rude lady. Just seems to treat me like I'm an annoyance, doesn't make eye contact or greet you at all. Appointment availability is too far out if you need to be seen. I made an appt a month in advance to be seen for the same thing I have been seen for 2 times prior. I went in expecting the issue to be taken care of and instead I wait 39 minutes to speak with the dr for 3 minutes just for him to tell me to schedule an appt to take care of it .... Pretty sure that's what this appt was. He said he isn't super busy and should be able to see me soon. Front desk checks soonest appt is another month out. Echoing a previous reviewer about Dr Labrecque's conduct -- bizarre, unprofessional and inappropriate. As I expressed my concerns to Dr Labrecque, he interrupted and spoke over me with medical jargon that he wouldn't explain, then switched to talking about the local dermatologists, insinuating greed by rubbing his fingers together. As I sat on the bed, he positioned himself inappropriately between my legs, pointing out things on my skin. I could feel the heat from his body. As I shifted to get away from him, he would do it again. He did this three times. Finally I stood up to get him to step back because I didn't know how to point out his inappropriateness. There was a nurse in the room who I looked at multiple times to see if any of the inappropriateness registered. I would say it did not. I left without treatment. Based on my encounter, unprofessional is a mild way to describe Dr Labrecque. Any woman who reads this review and decides to visit with him, I would say be prepared to speak up if he makes you uncomfortable and file a complaint with the office so the staff is aware. read more

If i could give this office NO STARS I WOULD!!!! THE MOST AWFUL EXPERINECE OF MY LIFE!!! our first time here and We saw Sheryll Miles for my 5 year old daughter for a skin condition. To start they scolleded me about bringing my 1 year old baby in a stroller to the appointment at the door and again by Sheryll Miles at the start of the appointment , which they NEVER TOLD ME it was only 1 person when i made the appointment. . Also it never in the paperwork was that stated. During the appointment Sheryll Miles had a rude approach since she came in the room and then when she began to explain to my daughter about the treatment she told her at eye level to my daughter FACE , and i quote "Listen, if you kick me , i will kick you back " i was shocked!! imagine how a 5 year old felt !! an adult dr who your sapposed to trust tell her " I will kick you" during the appointment she reminded my daughter again when my daughter began to move , i quote " remember what i told you if you kick me..." needless to say my daughter is freaked out and cried and cried when we got home about what that dr said. Been bringing my daughter for yrs now to this Dermatology. She has never seen Dr. Labreque only P.As Ever since her main PA left which was Tressa by the way was fabulous I have been dealing with rude front desk girls in the Santa Maria office they have very poor communication skills and customer service. the Pismo office has never returned a call when you leave a message. The PA Dan was very rude the last visit in Pismo where my 16 yr old daughter was waiting for him to come in exam room to check and when he did very rudely he walked out said he will be back in and about 5 min later a front desk receptionist came in and said my daughter was dicharged from the practice because of 3 No Shows so she got dressed and we left. You know why send txt message of reminder of appts and when it says respond to confirm or cx I cancel and according to office they never received the response. But anyways my daughter was right she never liked the PA Dan I suggest DermSpa Med in general needs some extra training on customer service and communication skills because you are a professional office setting. read more

Show up at 8:02 for an 8:00 appointment because I was driving around and couldn't find this tucked away spot, then I get there and I'm late because I didn't fill my paperwork out online, so then the Dematologist comes out and starts telling me I needed to have it done and is super rude about it so I told him to have a great day and left. I came here a few weeks ago for a few skin biopsies. The front desk ladies are so sweet and very helpful. The office has nice relaxing music playing. It's been very clean and tidy each time I've been in. Julia McKinzie MPAS-PA-C is wonderful. She is very detailed and quick with the procedures. I have healed very well and have very little to no scar tissue. My initial visit was a little uncomfortable mainly due to the fact that I wasn't really prepared for it. Julia's staff and MA's are very efficient and professional. I was kind of uncomfortable with them being men at first, but they're great at what they do. My second visit today was so much better. I was totally prepared for it and much less uncomfortable. I had a few more biopsies and am in very minimal pain at the biopsy sites. Thank you all very much! read more

If I Could give this office 0 stars I would! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Receptionist Etiquette. The first time I called this office to make an appointment I spoke with, Fernando! I informed him that my Doctor sent over an authorization and he said they had not received it. I called my doctor back to let them know and they said that it was sent and they even gave me an authorization number for when I called this office back! When I called back, I spoke with Fernando again, and he said they have still not received it and there was no way he could look up authorization number. I was then told I should call Their Santa Maria office, mind you both times I called he sounded like I was an inconvenience for him and was always in a rush to get off the phone! I called their Santa Maria location and all they asked for was my insurance information and they found my authorization and made an appointment for me that was scheduled at 3:20 at their pismo location for today! I'm almost 10 months pregnant and have a huge Pyogenic Granuloma on my arm that won't stop bleeding and it is infected. 25 minutes before my appointment they call me and said they need to reschedule and that couldn't get me in until next Wednesday. I was Very very frustrated as I was getting in my car to head that way from Slo. The girl I spoke with did say she would see if the doctor could still possibly see me today. I called back and Fernando answered and rudely said there is nothing they can do and that they didn't have anything until next Wednesday! I started crying out of frustration because this is a Stat Referral and I don't want to give birth with this and have a newborn, It is infected! Well Fernando hung up on me and when I called back no one answered. I called their Santa Maria location and they were able to get me in tomorrow at 3 both times that I have reached out to the Santa Maria office they have been so sweet and nice and very helpful. I spoke with the office manager and Fernando also lied and said he told me there was an opening at their Santa Maria location for tomorrow, and HE NEVER DID! I would rather Make the 35 minute drive to Santa Maria and deal with a professional office staff! I'm so thankful the SM were so understanding. I experienced the worst customer service every experienced at this office. I arrived early for a 12:50pm surgery prep appointment to find a note on the door saying closed until1:10pm for lunch. The secretary was in the office but refused to acknowledge myself and two other patients standing outside with 12:50pm appointments. She just kept pointing to the sign on the door. I went to sit in my car until 1:10pm. When I went into the office I was told I arrived too early and that a surgery tech opened the door at 12:50pm and let the other gentleman in. I was very upset as there was no sign for the patients saying they would come to the door at 12:50pm and let you in. The receptionist got mad at me for being 5 minutes early. Reception is horrible. They spend all their time reminding you that you have an appointment and you will be charged for missed appointments. I get multiple calls and texts to confirm my appointments. When I call back they put me on hold! When I say No I'm not going to be put on hold. In a rude manner, they tell me there are customers ahead of me. I told them to stop texting and calling me because my appointments are confirmed when I make them. I got another text right after I hung up! They make me feel like a criminal. Been going her for almost a year trying to give them chances after chances but everything they do and say DOES NOT work! They just have set regimens that they give EVERY patient! All they do is sell you their products that 1. Cost a fortune and 2. Don't even work. I came her the other for my sisters appointment and I told them nothing was working like usual and they already knew exactly what to say and do, so of course they sell us $500 pills and creams that don't do anything AND a $40 clay mask that they sell. I was never given the actual mask afterwards but unfortunately I did not even realize till a day after, so we called back and they basically said we were liar and she saw me walk out with it. I had 2 witnesses with me and one said a day later that she wondering why I actually never got the product the other witness also noticed I never got it. The receptionist, Julianna or Julie, IS A LIAR. They stole my money! Why would I lie! Makes no sense. This place is terrible please don't waste your money and time on this place!!
