This post office is strange in that it is actually located inside the Spar shop on Abbey Lane…read more This is handy if you want to pick up some shopping as well as sorting out your post office related issues. I've only used this one a couple of times, but have recieved good service. Applying and checking of my passport application was made easy by the member of staff I was served by. He seemed very knowledgable and friendly. There is also a post box outside for out of hours posting.

A fairly large and spacious Post Office store considering it is located on the first floor of Wilko…read more- the location of this Post Office I must say did surprise me as it is often rare to find a Post Office outside of their standalone branches which isn't in either a local newsagent or WHSmith - Wilko is more of a hardware store, they do sell stationary etc but this store isn't really equipped or suited to a Post Office. Being on the first floor, it is slightly hidden and out of the way but the overall area is quite spacious - they had a good number of counters and self-service machines but there wasn't really a lot of staff around the area which I presume was down to me visiting later on in the day. The opening hours are pretty much average for a local post office from 8:30 am to 6 pm, but the fact they close at 3 pm on a Saturday is too early - especially considering many Post Offices nearby do open later, and many similar stores like this actually open on a Sunday if they're located inside another store, surely it would be possible? It is a much better branch than the rude, awful Norfolk Street branch elsewhere in the centre of Sheffield but the location is tucked away in Wilko on Haymarket, a good 5-10 minute walk from Fargate and further again from The Moor isn't too great - with so many units around Sheffield surely there is a unit to have a central Post Office which doesn't feel out of the way? The larger and more modern Post Office in the city, but restricted being inside the Wilko store and by its' own standards - 2*
