Not even weekly. The rolls are okay, but in my opinion it's not the manifestation of rolls worldwide there. Standing in line can be fun, I don't have to tell you. But standing in line over the street for rolls ? Only if you need buying rolls as your first event on a sunny sunday morning. So, dear English-Qype-Community, toast is all right and breakfast without rolls is all right too, even in Germany. But if you are homesick and you want to stand in queue you are welcome!

This place makes fantastic pita bread. If you're visiting Hamburg it's an interesting stop-in…read morelocated fairly close to the Hauptbahnhof and if you grab yourself a little feta and a tomato you've got a cheap lunch! ;-) The bread tastes best eaten right away anyway. Watching them make it is a fun experience in and of itself. They use a tandoor oven and slap the slabs of bread onto the sides of the oven until the bread is baked. Then they use long tongs to pull it out of the oven's chimney onto the wooden slide and righ to you! :-) (The people here speak English as well.)

Yes, its probably one of the most expensive bakeries in the world but this place has got some great…read morethings going for it which makes it worth it: -almost all of the ingredients come from the region and all are either certified organic or bio-dynamic. -they use green energy for all of their locations including where they bake the bread and have a very green policy when it comes to energy consumption (and trying to reduce it as much as possible). -finally, and most important, besides the fact that you feel good about getting your bread here is that unlike the reputation that some organic bakeries have for only baking things that resemble cardboard, its also all around the best tasting bread in Hamburg. My picks are the Kernbeißer Brötchen, Holsteiner Vollkornbrot, Laugenbrötchen, Ciabatta and of course the Franzbrötchen ;).
