They (UCH and CUMed) are both affiliated with the University of Colorado in their medical division, the UCH facilities affiliated with University Hospital and the CU Medicine doctors affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. It is a complicated intertwining though both are usually included the in same heath insurance program. I have used them in various forms for decades, at different locations as the system grew. If your health plan includes these options, I think most people would be happy. There are many doctors in the systems and I have had experience with a wide range. Many aspects need to be considered when choosing medical care so do check into options that meet your needs. I have had exceptional care over the decades. Recently, one of my care doctors was relocated to this unit. It is in a building, easily accessible from 287 with ample parking in the south part of Longmont. This unit has been customized to their needs and the interior is entirely new, having only opened 10 days ago. It is spacious, well designed and very modern. The groups located here now are Orthopedics, Spine Center, Neurological Surgery and Nephrology. They each have their own phone lines, listed at the end of review for clarity. The hours for all are M-F, 8am-4:30pm. Phone # Orthopedics, 720-718-8288 Spine Center, 303-444-2955 Neurological Surgery, 720-718-8280 Nephrology, 720-718-8257

He was kind, attentive and answered all of my questions. The office staff the exact opposite. I had recently had foot surgery and was using a knee scooter because I was non-weight baring. The lady that checked me in, was cold, made no eye contact, just started her search about what she needed etc. There were 2 large, heavy chairs in front of her desk that I couldn't move but she couldn't have cared less. I ended up tossing my envelopes of records to her. The medical assistant was the same, no eye contact, actually stopped at the scale and said "I need your weight", I waited for her to look at me and said I can't stand on the scale. Without saying anything, she turned and walked to a room. Neither lady introduced themselves, they did not care about me and seemed annoyed that I was there. I hate it when I feel comfortable with and get great care from a doctor but their staff is so poor that I really don't want to go back.

A week later we finally received the first billing notice in the mail. Terrible customer service and lousy online billing system. All my wife received was recomendations to limit salt and take her blood pressure. She would have been better served by going to her primary care physician.
