I was extremely nervous for the price of treatment because I knew I had a lot of work to be done - I hadn't seen a dentist in 5 years. Regardless, scheduling was easy on her website and her staff called immediately to warm me up and let me know what my first visit would be like. I had a really late appointment on Thursday (FYI she's open until 7) in the New Jersey office! I had a regular visit and cleaning and was offered a promotion for free whitening. When it was time to pay, it was definitely a lot of treatment and was overwhelming to say the least. But I knew it was something I needed and wanted! Safe to say, I won't wait another 5 years to see a dentist. The Office Manager offered me an In house plan that allowed me to get a percent off of my treatment which made life so much easier! I'll come back and update you on the treatment. I have an appointment coming up in a week!

I found Dr. Lee's conduct concerning, and her "coordinator" came across more like a salesperson than someone focused on patient care. I felt extremely uncomfortable with the pressure to sign up for financing. I experienced multiple instances of unethical behavior throughout my visit, which I will not get into in detail in this review. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope of saving someone else from feeling taken advantage of, pressured, and uncomfortable in a setting where they should feel safe and respected. My experience with Dr. Lee and her practice has seriously undermined my trust in dental professionals. About 30 minutes after he injected me in my jaw, I felt a sharp pain and strange effects above my left eyebrow and across the left side of my face. I noticed new wrinkles above my left brow that had not previously existed, and the muscles on the left side of my face felt strained and tight. It felt incredibly invasive to have Botox injected into my jaw and then experience unusual sensations and changes extending all the way up to my brow. And this was after an injection that took him all of about 20 seconds before he was out the door (no real check-in, barely any time spent, just in and gone). I went back the next day after I felt the strange effects on the left side of my face and saw another doctor, who told me that what I was experiencing was not typical. When I brought my concerns back to Dr. Kojanis, I have never felt so dismissed by a medical professional in my life. I described changes that began about half an hour after the injection, and he treated me like I was imagining it. He just insisted whatever I was experiencing had nothing to do with him. Don't just take my word for it, read the messages for yourself. What I find genuinely alarming is that a medical professional would be this unwilling to even consider a possible connection between his own injection and symptoms that began immediately afterward. Because Botox wears off over time, by the time the effects resolve there will be little objective evidence of what I experienced. That makes me feel like my concerns will never be taken seriously. He took my money, refused to refund me, and made me feel dismissed after I raised symptoms that began shortly after the procedure. I trusted him, and I regret it deeply. I also intend to report him to the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry.

For me, it's all about the bedside manner, not just getting a job done and wanting money. Going to the dentist is often a frightening experience, and I am no stranger to this. He can make you laugh, comfortable, and at ease with opening up your mouth and trusting that he is going to do the best job possible with causing the least amount of pain. I've had a few cavities so far (nothing major), and could not have gone more smoothly. The pain was not overwhelming, the cavities fixed with no problems after, and most importantly, I felt COMFORTABLE. It's no longer scary to go to the dentist. I look forward to cleanings, and it makes me want to keep my teeth in the best shape possible.
