I brought my 1998 Firebird to MVP in Milan IL because the driver's door glass was not seating…read moreagainst the seal on the door opening and water would come inside every time I would go through the car wash. A guy named Craig looked at the car told me that I needed door hinge pin bushings and it would cost around $240.00. I agreed to the fix and when I called him two days later he told me that it was fixed and that I didn't need the bushings after all but there was a part in the door that had rusted and was no longer available from GM. He said that they had "manufactured" something to make the window seat against the seal. It turns out that they removed the rusted part which apparently was welded in place. When I went there to pick up the car the day after a storm that dumped 4 inches of snow and after paying for the repair I walked out to find my car parked next to a flat bed trailer in four inches of snow while the rest of the lot was mostly empty of cars and had little snow on it. I got stuck and went back inside to get someone to push me out since they had a genius park the car in the worst possible spot. Apparently Craig did not like my calling someone there a f&^#ing genius and told me to apologize or he wouldn't help push me out. I apologized and he turned his back and went into the office. I figured that he wasn't going to help so I left and managed to get myself unstuck without his help. As I was walking out Craig shouted something to the effect that he should have charged me more for what they did. The fix worked for one and a half uses of the door window switch. Upon trying to raise the window the second time the window came off the track and I would have to manually help the glass up in order to raise it all the way. I called Mills Chevy and had them put the glass back in the track since I wouldn't trust MVP put air in my tires. Mills Chevy got the glass back in the track but they said that there was a part that had been cut off the door; presumably the so-called unavailable aforementioned rusted part that was needed. After paying another $50.00 to get the door re-fixed it still has a big gap between the glass and the seal and the glass is loose. The dealer gave me the part number of the discontinued part and after a 10 minute search on the internet, I found it, brand new on eBay. So much for the part being unavailable. I guess those guys at MVP do not know how to use a computer except to print out invoices for shoddy work that wasn't authorized. I'll be having Mills Chevy fix the damage the incompetent people at MVP did. If you need a repair keep driving and DO NOT GO TO MVP.
