My only complaint would be with CNY Cardiology for being dismissive of their patients who see him and scheduling patients with another dr. without consulting them. My husband has a long and complicated medical history. We are at the mercy of the drs overseeing his care and it took YEARS to adjust the delicate balance of his medications so one med did not have consequences on other medical issues. With respect to the other drs there,one simple change can and HAS triggered a series of medical consequences for him. Imagine how "happy" I was when after several medical emergencies, I arrived with my husband to find out that the appointment I gave up so my husband could see dr. sooner was switched to another dr without consulting me first. Give the powers that be are not familiar with personal medical histories/concerns/preferences that seemed disrespect of our RIGHT to make that choice and given that it is by administration rather than a trained medical professional, be aware that such actions could be have ramifications on them as well as the people they serve. I made it clear if it happens again, I will leave and reschedule.

If you've been having trouble getting your records forwarded since Dr. Brehaut…read moreclosed his office, you can fill out a NYS DOH-3867 form and mail it to the address listed on the form. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Brehaut is a terrific doctor who helped saved my Dad's life when he had a stroke and helped give me precious extra months with my Mom when she had a major stroke. However, we had trouble getting records forwarded after his office closed. Maybe he subcontracted records forwarding to a firm that made an error or maybe there were technical issues with electronic forwarding, I don't know. Nevertheless, we've heard that we weren't the only ones. Dr. Brehaut's contact information online appears to be out of date, so it was difficult to contact him directly to voice concerns about records forwarding issues. As such, we filled out a DOH-3867 form. We just politely wrote that Dr. Brehaut is a fantastic doctor, but for whatever reason... something happened to our forwarding request. Albany proceeded to contact him on our behalf to facilitate records forwarding. Again, a really great doctor, he's done great things for my family! The only minor medical concern I ever had when we visited him was that I thought he was somewhat too cautious about the vaccine. But again, if anyone else is having trouble contacting him due to outdated contact information online and need to get records forwarded, mailing a DOH-3867 form might help.

Dr. Lemke was my mom's oncologist, and she was wonderful. She never minced words, but was diligent…read moreabout making sure that we felt comfortable, even when she was telling us that my mom was never going to get better. She tried to make sure that we would have as much QUALITY time with her as possible, and I really appreciated that. Let's face it - she's an oncologist, so the outcome isn't going to be good a lot of the time. But Dr. Lemke's bedside manner really did make us feel confident that our mom was receiving great care, regardless of what the outcome was clearly going to be. There is one woman in her front office (unfortunately she answers the phone) who is very uncaring sounding, and I that stinks when you're family member is dying. However, I appreciated that the doctor visited my mom while she was in the hospital in Syracuse, and travels to Oneida once or twice a week so that her patients in this more rural area don't have to go all the way to Syracuse for chemotherapy.
