Dr. Wehrli and his staff are amazing! I have been seeing Dr…read more Wehrli for several years now (I am a "well-managed" diabetes patient.) My experiences on each and every visit have been wonderful. Even when the waiting room is full, there is not the type of usual wait time experienced in doctors' offices - patients are moved through with courtesy and efficiency. The staff are friendly and professional, and most have been there for the entire time I have been a patient (which tells you a lot). Dr. Wehrli himself is a fabulous doctor and surgeon. I recently had a "right hallux amputation" (i.e., I had my right big toe removed) by Dr. Wehrli due to a longstanding systemic infection which had put me in the hospital for three separate operations. Dr. Wehrli was able to save the ball of my foot, which will make a HUGE difference to my recovery and ability to walk naturally once healed. I cannot say enough about what a great doctor he is. I am someone in my 70's who dislikes conventional medical practice (and many doctors) but I absolutely feel comfortable discussing my situation with Dr. Wehrli, enjoy the fact that he will stay and answer questions no matter how busy he is, and I trust him totally for his skill, professionalism and genuine concern for his patients. A wonderful member of his profession; highly recommended.

On November 10 , 2025, I had an appointment with Dr. Ben Wehrli. I had seen him several times…read morebefore then. When I had last seen him, he said if I had future needs for my feet, to come see him. When I arrived at the office and said I had an appointment with him, the desk person said, in an abrupt manner, "he's not in!" When explaining that I had an appointment with him she became very nasty and actually abusive: " I told you he was not in!" I had made my appointment specifically with Dr, Wehrli quite a bit earlier than November 10. I was assigned to a younger less experienced doctor. He seems very nice but certainly not as experienced as Dr Wehrli. X-rays were done of my foot. I never received a report from a radiologist. I never received any copy of the X-rays. I never received a podiatrist evaluation of the X-rays. I never received a diagnosis of my foot condition, I never received a recommendation for treatment of my condition. Nothing in writing post exam. On my way out, he merely said something like, "seems good." I have tried many, many times to reach someone who could help me. I almost never got past the front desk. I left message after message at the front desk for both Rosie the office manager and the young doctor who treated me. I spoke with Rosie briefly twice. Each time she said she would send me my documents and have the young doctor contact me. I never received any documents. He finally called me called and left a message six days ago. He did not leave a direct number. Just the front desk number again. I called him back but he has not called me. The attitude in this office is one of total uncooperativeness, rude and insulting behaviour, and nothing like what I expect from a physician abiding by the Hippocratic Oath of professionalism. I always found Dr Wehrli to be competent and with a nice bedside manner. My happiness with this office ends there. His running of the office is shocking to me. I now find that probably the only way I will be able to obtain my documents is to file a complaint under the federal HIPAA Act, which will take time and effort just to obtain my medical records currently in their possession which they refuse to provide to me. Why the culture of this office has declined so much is unknown to me. I will move on to find another podiatrist and start all over with my foot problems. They will need my past podiatry records.

Dr. King is AMAZING! His bedside manner and accuracy are second to none. Unfortunately, I could not…read moregive him the 5 stars that HE deserves because his low-I.Q., poorly communicative staff deppreciate the value of his practice. They have never been rude with me as I've read they've been with other patients, but they wait too long to do their job: return calls (I had to call them nearly every day for 3 weeks to find out when my surgery was), they dropped the ball frequently on insurance paperwork, they have sub-par clerical and professional communication skills, and no common sense when I kindly explained to them how their ineptitude cost me (and likely other patients) 2 months' delay in surgery. This is depressing. Again, the office girls are very sweet, but ditzy. Expect them to handle your patient care and follow-up about as thoroughly and professionally as tenth-graders. Dr. King, I and one other woman could improve the professionalism of your office and replace all your little girls for half the price and do the job twice as well. Why? Because we're real women with real experiences and we've equated underperformance with consequence (like our kids won't eat because we'll be fired). I'm 35 and so far the youngest patient I've seen in the office. Most of his patients at the Yucca Valley location appear to be pensioners, so it's sadly likely that most of his patients are using Medicare subsidies or Social Security to help fund procedures. I've heard such patients complain at other practices here in Yucca Valley that 'they get what they pay for' in terms of service. That shouldn't have to be the case when dealing with any office staff. So, if you don't mind babysitting his staff for a few months as you await a necessary procedure, Dr. King is DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT.

Cliff notes: Dr King is fine, barely spent more than 10 minutes with me. It's the front office…read morethat's a joke. Long explanation: I was referred by my primary to Dr. King's office in October 2023, and was not able to schedule an appointment until beginning of December- that was the earliest! When I finally got the appointment, Dr. King saw me for no more than 10 minutes and told me that I needed an MRI on my toes, one foot was worse than the other, but wanted both scanned. He was recommending surgery. I was told to wait for a call For the referral to be able to call the imaging facility. With the holidays I let it go until the beginning of January. When I called back, Sara in the referral dept Bluntly told me that I needed to wait for IEHP to contact me. (Keep in mind it has now been about six weeks since my appointment.) Lo and behold later that day I get a call from the imaging Facility to schedule my MRI, And they proceeded to tell me it is only for 1 foot. I called the office back and have them check into it. Of course, more waiting. Then I get a call from the imaging facility again this time they have both feet and they also have an order to scan my knees. Dr. King is a podiatrist, not an orthopedist and I have nothing in the works about my knees with ANY doctor. Four times on the phone with the imaging company to get them to remove the order on my knees! I finally get the MRI scheduled for January 24 And that day I get a phone call from the imaging facility saying that the order is for with contrast and they don't do contrast at 5:30 PM which is when my appointment was and that they need to get the approval for the contrast Because it wasn't sent in from the Doctors office. I called the doctors office back and speak with Sara again And tell her that I do not have an order for my knees, and why was the contrast scheduled in the first place since Dr King never said a word about it in the first place. Then I was told that she would have to get IEHP to approve this, so, more waiting. At this point, given her lack of follow-through, There is absolutely no way I will deal with this office any longer. I was expecting to have surgery on my feet, and at this point I Do not feel confident in their ability to follow through with any care, especially after surgery. I have called my primary care doctor to get a new referral and start this process all over again, hopefully with a more Competent office. I also might mention that they have several offices and Dr. King travels between each one. Their office hours are scattered and they're not even there on many days. My question is, how can he keep up with his patients if he's scattered all over the valley? No wonder why he barely spent 10 minutes with me and his staff has no accountability.
