On November 10 , 2025, I had an appointment with Dr. Ben Wehrli. I had seen him several times before then. When I had last seen him, he said if I had future needs for my feet, to come see him. When I arrived at the office and said I had an appointment with him, the desk person said, in an abrupt manner, "he's not in!" When explaining that I had an appointment with him she became very nasty and actually abusive: " I told you he was not in!" I had made my appointment specifically with Dr, Wehrli quite a bit earlier than November 10. I was assigned to a younger less experienced doctor. He seems very nice but certainly not as experienced as Dr Wehrli. X-rays were done of my foot. I never received a report from a radiologist. I never received any copy of the X-rays. I never received a podiatrist evaluation of the X-rays. I never received a diagnosis of my foot condition, I never received a recommendation for treatment of my condition. Nothing in writing post exam. On my way out, he merely said something like, "seems good." I have tried many, many times to reach someone who could help me. I almost never got past the front desk. I left message after message at the front desk for both Rosie the office manager and the young doctor who treated me. I spoke with Rosie briefly twice. Each time she said she would send me my documents and have the young doctor contact me. I never received any documents. He finally called me called and left a message six days ago. He did not leave a direct number. Just the front desk number again. I called him back but he has not called me. The attitude in this office is one of total uncooperativeness, rude and insulting behaviour, and nothing like what I expect from a physician abiding by the Hippocratic Oath of professionalism. I always found Dr Wehrli to be competent and with a nice bedside manner. My happiness with this office ends there. His running of the office is shocking to me. I now find that probably the only way I will be able to obtain my documents is to file a complaint under the federal HIPAA Act, which will take time and effort just to obtain my medical records currently in their possession which they refuse to provide to me. Why the culture of this office has declined so much is unknown to me. I will move on to find another podiatrist and start all over with my foot problems. They will need my past podiatry records. read more

Even though I had what I considered to be a potentially serious condition, they would not squeeze me in anytime before the next scheduled date. Find another doctor! read more

in the past I was happy with this office but the last few months they have cancelled appointments that were then rescheduled making the time between appointments too long. Then on top of it, 4 days ago, I waited for an hour and had to leave for another appointment. I went back in 1/2 hour after, to see if the could take me. Even though there was no one in the waiting room and they wouldn't close for another 1/2 they said no. I rescheduled for today and sat for another 1/2 hr and asked how long until I would be seen - they said there were 6 patients in front of me! Another patient was also upset because he had waited an hour and still hadn't been seen. Once again I walked out untreated. Never again will I go there and I am warning you!!! my surgery was supposed to be easy and it went really bad i went back to the dr and told him but he never did nothing about it a year later iam in the handicapped section i can't work because of my foot he put 3 screws and a plate for what i still don't get it it gets inflammation on my surgery and it hurts like hell still don't recommend it read more

Dr Wehrli is everything one would want from one's doctor. He really listened to me, offered his thoughts and advice on how best to treat my situation, and when my experiences with treating my pattern of walking on the outsides of my feet were different from his customary treatment approach, he remained sincere and respectful while explaining the approach with which he has had the best outcome. It is always nice when a doctor respects one's experiences, even if they are different from most treatment approaches. Dr Wehrli rocks! I had lots of issues in my right ankle. He fixed them all and 8 weeks later i have no pain or discomfort, i can now golf. he is going to fix my huge bunion and broken metatarsel bone on my left toe. i cant wait, i will have my freedom to walk and jog again soon read more

Well I had surgery on October 6th at JFK. After been overdose on anesthesia I woke up after 3 hours from my surgery. My surgery was at 11:10am I woke up at 3:10pm. The next day I had severe jaw, neck, shoulders, bicep and sternum pain and bruising in my neck and lip cut, and hard for me to breath. My anesthesiologist said she was going to give me meds through IV and next I was intubated because I had complications so I was told. She claims I had Sleep Apena! Which I DON'T. I told her after numerus call to call me with information of my symptoms. However I had a follow up and they took X-rays and his colleague came in with a copy of my foot xray post surgery and said to me.. what's this? I replied with I don't know Dr. Wehril did my surgery. He shook his head side to side... I guess he didn't like what he is seeing. It's been 10 day post op and I still have my sutures and no follow up appointment. My foot is swollen and red and very painful. Time for a 2nd opinion. Also I got all my medical records and he lied to the insurance company about my treatment. Located in the Probst building on the Eisenhower hospital campus on the second floor, this very busy office has many young office assistants. The waiting room was packed on a Friday afternoon and the credit card machine wasn't working so it was cash or check please. The energy in the waiting room was not happy, it was depressingly, sadly under furnished. Lots of people in wheel chairs, walkers and canes. I had time to kill so I checked out the yelp reviews. I really need to work on doing that prior to a check in. Oh no, the reviews were pretty bad. I was encouraged that everyone that worked here went out of their way to say hello in a cheerful manner, almost to the point that it was comical. I kinda of felt like a celebrity. It took almost an hour to be seen, but I did arrive 10 minutes early. My Dr. had disappeared from the practice I had been going to and no one was talking, so I had been sent here which is a drive compared to the under 2 mile trip I used to make. So going in, I was expecting the worst. It was just a follow up. A second opinion I told myself. Now for the cool part, they rolled in a portable imagine scan machine that rotated around my ankle. I just sat there with my leg dangling off a most comfortable chair while they used a Fluoroscopy "something" arm low radiation x-ray. I want one. You can see your X-rays in real time. How cool is that? The girl that videoed it with an iPad was very friendly so I got the scoop on the place. They tape it so they could roll the machine into another exam room. When the Dr. arrives he looks at the video on the iPad. I didn't see Dr. Wehrli but the guy I saw was very cheerful, chatty, and matter of fact. I didn't feel rushed, he didn't try to sell me anything and gave me good advice. I haven't been back, but I am also waiting for their rumored La Quinta location to open. My appointment was in the end of July and I only now just received my bill. I tried to pay my copay at the time of service, actually waved a fresh bill, and they said no, they would bill me. I have no complaint against Dr. Wehrli Since my appointment was with a Jonathan Abraham. But I didn't even see him because he didn't show up for work...Why? ...because the Internet was down this morning. This office makes no accommodations or plans if they lose their Internet? Really? The doctor wasn't even in the office for my 8:10 appointment. Does he need the Internet to look at my foot? What did we do before the Internet?! Enter at Your Risk, serious. I came to Wehrli's office for a basic exam, with toenail trim. I had no wounds on my feet or toes. I came out with an Rx for antibiotic in hand, in case of infection, because of new wounds that are deep and painful on my toes, from a 1cm deep snipper (usually only used for corner!). Now I am worried about infection, after a three-day antibiotic course. I appreciate their effort and may return ; it was more the fantastic excuses (file "only available in Indio"; my skin "fell off") and lack of immediate care that were hard for me. For instance, I find out while leaving, first thing done after the fiasco: anti-coagulant went on the wounds, with neither my prior knowledge, nor my consent; the doctor did not wash the feet before the trim; he did not wash the bleeding foot before or after that anti-coagulant (no basin, no water, no towel present); he may have put antibiotic on under the mess of bandaids. No wrap, no bandaids, no gauze to take home. If the priority was to hide blood, lack makes sense here in Rancho Mirage (and Rx is mere damage control). For a time I put my faith in diet, in antibiotic. For a decade with other providers, I always had a soak, a wash, a trim, a filing (usually manual); lotion; nothing ever close to anything like this, til now. read more

Preformed major surgery on my foot. Couldn't diagnose a non-union soon enough. If he would have, one of the screws wouldn't have broke in half in my foot. Screws were too long and in an adjacent joint. He wasn't the first person to see broken screw. I found them prior to going for a second opinion on my copies of the xrays. The office takes too long to get RX refilled. You will have to call multiple times, because most of the time they do not get the message. Long waits because they double book all the appointments. He wanted to take out hardware where my non union is at. I said that it would cause more pain if you did that because it would be an unstable joint. I would have two bones hitting each other. He responded "Unstable? Obviously you know more then me so maybe you need to go see someone else." Unprofessional response. Instead of sending a response like this he could have educated me or informed me with exactly why taking out all the hardware would have helped my situation. Worse of all, he said he could take the hardware out in his office and not in the operating room. Some of my coworkers have had surgery by him, and they have all had issues also. I was seen by Dr. Douglas Croff in the office. The staff is great and so is Dr. Croff. I was lucky to not require surgery and I know it was all due to my first visit there when he spent so much time explaining everything and what I needed to do so that my broken ankle would heal. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great ankle/foot specialist. read more

I don't know why there are any bad reviews for Dr. Wehrli! I had an ingrown toenail for 2 months until I finally made a new patient appointment with him. He was the sweetest most gentle doctor I have ever seen. He talked me through the process, from injections to the actual removal of my nail. Everything was exactly as he said and I am so happy i went. I was very scared initially but he calmed me and now I'm going back next week to do my other toe! In terms of billing, this has nothing to do with the doctor it has to do with the facility. I saw him at Desert Regional and I know it probably will not be cheap, but people should not rate doctors based on how much they paid! read more

Not a fan. Basically I paid $160 AFTER INSURANCE for his surgery sales pitch. Waited 2 hours PAST MY APPT TIME for him to see me. He didn't even review the MRI I brought with me before seeing me. His office was supposed to follow-up with me to schedule an MRI on my other foot, and to schedule surgery... and never heard from anyone. Glad I didn't - because of that, I got a second and third opinions from other doctors who recommended AGAINST surgery. A few months later, I'm doing great with rehab. His office also input my address incorrectly into their billing system, so now I get this $160 bill for the first time and I'm listed as "90 Days Past Due"... the icing on the cake they don't even provide an envelope to submit payment (you think he makes enough to afford an envelope so I can pay him) and no way to submit payment online either. Just came back from an ankle follow up exam. It was 1 year ago that I had a full ankle joint replacement done by Dr. Wehrli. In fact, I actually had 2 surgeries done; one was needed simply to straighten out my foot so that it could bear weight. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wehrli and his entire office. Everyone has been pleasant, efficient and good to work with. Yes, the waiting room could be bigger, but it was never any issue. I was not there for socializing but rather to be made better, which was done very successfully. After dealing with a debilitating ankle deformity for almost 20 years- the last 3 in an orthotic brace- it is not too strong a statement to say Dr. Wehrli gave me part of my life back. I would and have recommended him and his staff to anyone with foot or ankle issues. I had surgery performed about a month ago and while I am still in recovery I can already tell that my foot is going to be in better shape. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate Dr. Wehrli's expertise. He has answered my many, many questions, taken time to listen to any concerns and has provided me with excellent care. He really explains things too! I got all the pros and cons of surgery and I never felt rushed or pushed to make a decision about the different care options. I waited until last month to have the surgery but he first looked at my foot a couple of years ago and I wore orthotics that relived my pain until my bunion just got to a point that it needed to be removed. I had surgery mid-morning and Dr. Wehrli called me that night personally to see how I was feeling and to see if I had any questions at all. Great customer service! There have been staff changes in their office in the last 12 months and I think the team that they have now is outstanding. They helped me figure out my insurance have been great about answering questions and refilling my prescriptions as needed. The office is busy but I have never felt rushed by the staff or Dr. Wehrli. The surgery center at Eisenhower was outstanding too! The nursing staff was helpful, funny and very caring! They made sure that I was recovered enough to be released and they called me the next day to follow up - asking if I had and questions. I completely trust Dr. Wehrli and if my kids, a family member of anyone I care about needed foot care I wouldn't hesitate to suggest they make an appointment with Dr. Wehrli. read more

5 star +! Though I agree the waiting area is small and there is a lot of patients, heres the thing theyve only been there 5 months. I had 2 bad deformities in both feet. Ive been to several podiatrist who have sad i had low padding or that I should buy special shoes (800$ insurance does not cover). Some have offer but not one ever made me feel comfortable. The first day I was there dr. Wehrli was so incredible knowledge and made me feel safe. I finally had surgery and Dr.wehrli checked on me every day. Any time I need him he is there in a heartbeat.
