Met with this man regarding a potential bankruptcy. He made some derogatory, untrue statements regarding individuals with mental health and their ability to function and focus. He took my money and I got nothing out of it. He needs to be educated on how mental health affects every aspect of one's life, including finances. Very disappointing. read more

There is no way I would ever recommend this office I know that they're close now I did like Dennis Gaughan a lot and he is the only one in that whole office that I would ever recommend going to my only problem is that I was Selling a house and he gave me Eric Dority who apparently was on the news in recent years for losing his license I did not know this at the time but he jerked me around for over two years by then and job losing my house for back to taxes For the 2 years. when my realtor asked for the paperwork he would not provide them in a and then when he told me that I would be $5000 in the hall in order for him to close on my house I said I would like to take my $5000 an hour for my retirement money to pay for it and he said oh no... He said I have no Choice but to file bankruptcy choice but to file bankruptcy instead that was the biggest mistake of my life and I am still paying for it! We had him file for a birth certificate (sp) for my adopted daughter who was from the Philippines. He listed her birth country as Columbia ( Bogata) I mean she is brown and Columbians are brown. I guess that was close enough for him. Does not return calls. read more

Very disappointed and discriminated by the actitud of people in this office. I paid a high retainer for possible services for a family member back in May. nothing was done and there was no need for services from this office. We requested the money back and we were told that the owner passed away. I was sort about the news. But I asked politely several times for reimbursement and they said to go through his states because Mr. DENNIS left no money: I asked for a letter to ask my bank to reverse the payment and in a nasty manner I was told that his son will not do that and to not to call again. I feel I was scammed. A lawyer firm and will do this to a client which in good faith trusted the firm. Horrible!!!! I have dealt with R.J. Freeman from this law firm. He is very caring when you meet with him, however it is almost impossible to contact him about anything. I wanted to do a will and sent him all my information but it's been about 7 weeks and I haven't heard a word. I tried calling, left a message and still no response. They are just not responsive and this makes me question whether they would be there when needed. I wanted them as executor of my will, but if it would take over 7 weeks to get them to do anything, what's the point. I will look for another attorney, one that actually communicates with me. read more

RJ told me he filed custody papers on my behalf for my grandchildren. HE NEVER DID. NOW, my grandchildren have been placed and I have to hire a competent person to help me recover the loves of my life. RJ dropped the ball---really never picked it up to start with. Just told me he did. A lawyer, unfortunately, deals, destroys, toys with, screws over REAL PEOPLE...REAL EMOTIONS...REAL LIVES. This failure to do his job, his only job in this case is inexcusable. And oh by the way he didn't even have the balls to call me back. Secretary did say he would speak to me several days after this travisty came to light...too late. You little boy...grow up. read more

Went for a consult with Mr Gaughan on March 15,2019 for a divorce. The consult was not private , Mr Gaughan invited another client into the room and discussed his case in front of me. Mr Gaughan also conducted side conversations with staff during my consult . My case was handed over to RH Friedman whom I have not spoken with. My husband and I both have left multiple messages most of which are not returned. When a return call was made it was by RJ secretary who told me "we are busy "To date nothing has been done. There is no property,no minor children , no assets to divide , a simple amicable divorce. I called another attorney for guidance and to see if my expectations were reasonable. I was told that more than 50 days was a sufficient amount of time to ask someone to come in and sign papers for a divorce. My first instinct was to get up and leave during my "private consult " when Mr Gaughan exhibited rude and unprofessional behavior , I should have done just that . I called on May 2,2019 to ask for my $1,300 retainer back and for them to call me when it was ready . To date I have not heard back from this law office read more

I have to agree with all other's comments about RJ, handled (or should I say mishandled) my divorce several years ago. Again acted like he cared but then dropped the ball. Seems like difficult cases get to be too much to handle for him due to lack of experience. Makes all of these grand promises about his successes and can never follow through. At least he could refund my retainer based on his failures. Do not recommend at all. read more

Whatever you do, do not use this firm. We were looking to use them to purchase a new home. A week later, we had not heard anything from them and after several calls of being told I will get you an update later today, we still have not heard anything. meanwhile the seller of the home was looking for the finalized contract. They very well may have cost us the purchase of the home and the seller a sale. They say they want to stay small so they can give their personal attention. Maybe they are too small and cannot handle the job. Never ever ever use them for anything. They may as well have an address of an abandoned home. That is how easy it is to get a hold of them. Lazy, slow and useless. I know I will never use them again. First impressions do make a different Mr. Gaughan and your team just lost their chance to make a good one and you lost a client. You are lucky you got 1 star only because we cannot leave 0 Update on my review. The paralegal calls me after catching her in a lie about sending the approval letter out. The approval letter said it was created after I had already fired them. She did not even have my name right. That is how unprofessional and unorganized this firm is. read more
