I went to see a physio for pain in my side. After an MRI and long waits, I was told there was…read morenothing wrong with my back, that I should do more exercise, and that I should stop being careful with my back. I already exercise and have a perfect BMI. I followed his advice and tried to move more, but I ended up unable to move because of severe back pain. He had told me there was nothing on my MRI and nothing wrong. I requested my records and the MRI scan so I could see for myself, because it was hard to believe--and I have now lost my job after following his advice and being unable to get to work. It turns out the MRI scan has still not been provided, but the notes he wrote completely contradict what he told me. They mention bulging discs and arthritis in my spine. I phoned up and was told to talk to PALS. I tried, but the voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message. I've made 63 unanswered phone calls now and there seems to be no other way to do anything. It feels like a great way to avoid complaints--just don't answer the phone.

Parking here is limited but have found a space when I have been recently, costing £2.50 for 2hrs going up to £4 for 12hrs, special parking is available if you have to park for longer, check with reception. As with most hospital outpatient appointments hurry up & wait is the norm. One thing I did find useful in this tech age is you can get digital copies of x-rays taken at any of the 3 hospitals, which are put on a CD with a password encryption. These have to be ordered & collected later. The charge to access medial records is £10 payable on collection. I found this service very useful as I don't remember how the x-rays looked during the appointment but was nice to examine them in my own time at home later & show them to my GP, remembering that it is confidential information. I found the nursing staff to be helpful & pleasant but the orthopaedic consultant a little brash as the first time I saw him was 9am on a Sunday morning. The 2nd visit he was a little more pleasant.

We shouldn't complain about the NHS because it's the shop floor workers like you & I that make it work not the unnecessary tiers of management that obviously don't work weekends. Christmas gone Dr Reynolds personally treated me for some considerable time as my COPD had me in bed for most of the holiday until I saw Dr Reynolds for an emergency appt the 1st day after christmas.He spent quite a few hours over 3 visits in 4 days to get me up and going again. I shall be eternally grateful for that. Dr Reynolds and Dr little are indicative of all the staff in this surgery and Stillington is a very lucky village to have their presence. Ray Cooke.

Sometimes you can make an advance appointment for routine appointments eg prescription reviews but some days you can only call on the day which is hopeless for those who work and are non-urgent. Doctors are friendly and Dr Little, Dr Dewhirst and Dr Reynolds are definitely the most attentive and confident. There is a pharmacy within the doctors that does up the prescriptions.

Patients at The Nunthorpe branch can request to be seen on The Middlesbrough site if needed. I have been visiting this Dr's surgery for the last 21 years and have had nothing but valuable medical assistance here. The Dr's are all very friendly and spend time with you on each appointment. It is easy to get an appointment by telephone and if you have an emergency and ring as the surgery opens you will usually be able to be seen that day. The surgery also has at least one practise nurse. Parking is sometimes difficult as you are sharing spaces with other shoppers , there is a small car park at the opposite end from the Dr's. There is also a chemist a few shops from the Dr's who can help with your prescription needs after appointment. A lovely team of Drs, nurses and receptionists are on this site and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone moving into the area

Located right at the entrance to the Sunningdale estate, this Health Centre has been here for…read moredecades! The staff are really nice and helpful. There is a little row of shops next door (including a chemist where you can get your prescription filled), and this row of shops has its own free car park. Given that this is a matter of yards away from the entrance to the Health Centre, it is really annoying and frustrating the number of people who feel it necessary to park their car on the double yellow lines on the road right outside, and cause delays for other cars trying to get past. The Health Centre building itself has been demolished, and as I type, the Health Centre is operating out of a set of portacabins while the new Health Centre is being built. Judging from what I can see driving past, it looks like the new Health Centre is going to be considerably bigger than the old one.
