So, I am a music producer of World/Spiritual original music. The song I was commissioned to create was given to me on a cassette tape! Just a little melody with a young woman's voice singing through it, no chords yet added. I had to turn that little song into something special for the author of the song. The author, who is a trumpet player hates electric guitar solos, but, the song really needed sparks flying; so, I thought why not try electric violin? But, this song had need for traditional violin, like in a Classical style, and a soloist violin, like in "Fiddler On the Roof" and then Klezmer like with Jewish Jazz and electric violin like as if an electric guitarist was ripping-it-up! Who in the world could I get to perform all this well? You guessed rightly, Edgar Gabriel!!! When I found this gem of a musician, Edgar worked with me to make it all happen so seamlessly in a very short time through emails and a phone call or two. Edgar came to the studio earlier than requested with bells and whistles on. He was compliant to hear the "Vision" for the violin parts, skilled enough to make the solo happen on the spot and skilled enough to read and perform the traditional notations with on-the-location- adjustments within less than an hour of studio time! And, Edgar was so engaged in the moment and gave me choices of a variety of sounds that he could perform that I barely know a violin was of sounding like unless the player was truly a consummate player.
