It's not easy keeping groups of preschoolers entertained, but they had a full morning of events that the little loved! Aside from that, I wish I had more shopping time because their store was full of the cutest garden decorations and plenty of seasonal plant baskets. I went with my friend here and that there was free popcorn and I thought this'd be an amazing idea while I pick out a plant for my parents. Well everyone they were super kind except for this one lady she looked to be about in her '60s and she had said to us. Where are your parents? Listen up if you're not going to buy anything you should just go which was extremely rude and to us have an assumption like that is is really rude of you to do as an employee and then we were walking and we just picked a plant. I was going to get it and then we walked literally three steps after this girl pointed get out and she seemed very angry for no reason. I have no clue this girl is either so it was extremely rude. But all the other employees were extremely nice but this one girl was extremely disrespectful. I am so mad and I cannot believe that she would ever do this. It had been a few years since I last visited here for summer flowers. I was quite impressed with how well run it is, like a well oiled machine! Lots of help wherever you look to assist customers in all areas of the store. The variety of flowers and plants is tremendous and the yard decor, planting accessories, stones, mulch, seed packets etc makes this a one stop place for all of your gardening and planting needs and wants, including some neat gift ideas for anyone who appreciates nature's beauty and a beautiful looking yard! I like how the shopping carts have the directories for easily locating which aisle has the types of plants you're looking for. They have a couple sizes of carts for small, casual planting to larger carts for some serious planting and gardening! Believe me, I saw some beautiful plants being purchased on both sizes of carts! It's a gardener's dream to say the least! The prices seemed a bit higher than I thought they'd be compared to some other local places that sell flowers and plants. But for the selection and convenient help, I didn't seem to mind too much, even though I'm pretty sure my bill would have been a bit less if I wanted sub par assistance at other places where it's difficult to find help. Parking is aplenty, help is aplenty.... I had a nice relaxing visit. There are coupons in the Val Pak envelopes, but I forgot to bring mine and I'm a coupon clipper and super saver. Oh well... I may very well need something next week or next month! The Deneweth Family certainly puts their all into their business and it shows! They're a long standing and successful business that knows how to treat customers and they know what their customers like. I purchased well over $100 worth or plants at the end of May last year including 4 roses that were $40 apiece. Three did well but the fourth didn't survive the winter. My favorite garden center! This is every gardeners heaven. I've been buying my plants from here for 3 years and will continue. I like how they give $5 off coupons and after spending so much they mail you another $5 off. The prices are a bit expensive but I never had a problem with any of my plants. They sell beautiful, healthy and hardy plants. The staff is always kind knowledgeable. I already have my fall mums and can't wait to get my summer plants next year! read more

Used to be my favorite nursery but lately have been buying most of my plants elsewhere for 3 reasons : 1. They don't take American Express 2. They are more expensive than most nurseries 3. They have outdated poorly functioning scanners and insist on ringing up each plant individually even if you have 100 of the exact same plant! Prepare to spend a half hour at checkout. Phenomenal. Thats all you need to know. This nursery is superb. Literally nothing compares in my opinion. They have everything. Everything. They boast 1130 different plants/flowers...they are not kidding. This place is larger then a football field. Massive. It can be overwhelming, but they have lists of where to find things on the plant carts you will need. The hanging baskets here are the largest I have ever seen and colors I never thought existed. There are hundreds! If you dont know what you are looking for, think of something you like....a color, scent, hanging basket? Window box? Full ground coverage? something you have to pay constant attention to or low maintenance? Sun or shade? Grab a person in a red shirt and tell them that info. They will get you what you need. You will be soooo happy. Ive asked many questions, brought in pictures etc and I have been pleased with the advice and help Im given. Every year I come back here. They have super high quality plants that they are willing to help you with. Bought something and it's not working out? Bring it back. Is it dying? Bring it in they will help!! They've been in business since 1964, and theres a reason for it. They are the best. My herbs and peppers from here are always tasty and produce a ton of peppers. My flowers are gorgeous. Yesterday (I know it was early in the session, but I had to go) I was amazed by the service and knowledge of Debbie and everyone else that I asked question. This greenhouse/garden center is simply beautiful. A huge variety of anything/everything garden related. Mulch, stones, annuals, perennials, fruit and veggies seeds and plants. Potted, hanging, flats of flowers. Fairy gardens, pond needs, and tons of gift ideas. Organized flawlessly with easy to read signs, and maps to help you located what you want quickly. Plenty of carts to load up everything in one trip. Staff is friendly and helpful, and easy to find in their red shirts. Complimentary coffee/tea and popcorn is a nice touch. And the kids corner makes its a family friendly trip, where the little ones can even make and take home a FREE plant. ANTI-AMERICAN, Science, CDC recommendations, Elliot-Larson Act, American Disability Association, Bill of Rights and common sense. High School girl berates you when waking in about wearing a mask OUSTSIDE! I saw three women using their radios track down a couple who weren't wearing a mask in the OPEN AIR greenhouses. They think they are the new mission impossible or something. The couple explained they had a medical condition and could not wear mask in the humid heat of the greenhouse, which is ALLOWED under the health department order even! These women acted like they were saving the world, way over the top. We are outside! What is going on Michigan, no wonder we are the sickest state in the nation. Too many masks making people sick! Completely degrading, unnecessary and without any justified reasoning. I left my cart and walked out disgusted. BTW, the plants are a lot smaller and lesser in quality and they shot all their prices way up this year..... read more

Great place to shop for plants, flowers and vegtables! I have been going to Denewiths for over the past 20+ years. You can count on a large variety and the plants are full and well established. The plant carts are extremely generous so I can get all my spring flowers in one trip. Staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Multiple greenhouses are clearly marked to assist in finding the plants you are looking for. I look forward to shopping every Spring and love to bring home a new exotic plant! read more

My mother spent a spent a good amount of money there last season for a crop that barely yielded anything. Called the store to see what they would be able to do for us...NOTHING. $100 down the drain on perennial herbs that didn't come back and veggie plants that gave the smallest crop I've ever seen. Out of 12 cucumber plants, we had six cucumbers. Brussel sprouts went moldy. Pepper plants were supposed to be an array of colors; got a few green and a couple red all season. What was labeled as "bell peppers," were actually banana peppers. Will not be back. We have never dealt with a greenhouse that has not stood behind their products. read more

Me and my family have been going to Deneweths for many years, and have spent alot of money over those years! My elderly mother went there today to buy her flowers (over $100 worth) which is a big deal on a fixed income. When she got home she immediately started to plant her flowers. When she was finishing up her second flower bed she notice the six pack of flowers that was left was missing one of the flowers, which left what she was working on uneven. My mom packed my dad (who has dementia and parkinsons) into the car and drove up to get the flower that she was shorted. The cashier was very nice, but said she was not authorized to give her just one flower. She went to get another gal, just to get the same answer. She asked to speak with the manager, waited 15 minutes for the manager to come out, and was told they couldn't give her just one flower. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? SHE PAID FOR IT!!!!! Might sound like no big deal, but it is a matter OF DOING THE RIGHT THING!!!! She said she would not be returning after going there for so many years. They laughed at her and screamed BYE!!!!! Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting. I will be taking recommendations for a new place. read more

This is a great place to look but, due to the high prices, not buy. There are other greenhouse within the area where you can get the same great plant without the high price. Mary's Garden at 26 mile and M53 has the same plants without the $4.99 price tag. This place is selling 3 and 4 inch annuals for under $4, flats for $11.99. The same for Brohls at 25 and Broughton. Hessell's and Diegel's greenhouses have the same stuff and they are under $4.99. Diegels gives you a discount if you buy 8 or more. Deneweth's has no such discount. Another thing to note: all of these greenhouses are supplied by the same plant supplier in Richmond. Only 2 stars due to the high price of annuals and the no discount of multiple buys. read more
