well my experience with this dentist has been nothing but a disapointment i payed 10,000 dollars to get dentures and all i got was a pair of dentures that have never fit without using adhesive to keep them in my mouth and i still cant eat food and it's been a year now. It gets better all my appointments were always at eight am everytime even though i got home from work at eleven at night. Then you show up and she makes you feel like you shouldn'tbe there like your some chump wasting her time even though its her responsibility. the last time i saw her i told her the upper dentures dont fit/work right she said well i guess you should have gotten some upper implants. This is after i paid twenty thousand to have my theeth pulled (twelve teeth at once) paid 10,000 thousand for that and another 10,000 for two dental implants for my lower teeth. So let me tell you i guess if your really rich you'll get the service you deserve deserve but if your just some person trying to do the right for yourself this is how you get treated. Then I had to find another dentist to fix my dentures just so i could swallow with them in my mouth (had to pay that dentist for doing the work Dena Marcus Should've done and anytime i had a problem and called to see her she was never there/available (not offered to see another dentist usually when a dentist is on vacation they have a fill in dentist (but not her). now in october i get a thing in the mail basically saying well if you have any problems you can come and see me if you have dental insurance or more money. glad I could Pay in advance for the worst experience Iv'e ever had. Ive gone thru braces,jaw surgery,and getting twelve teeth pulled at once and have had probably eight root canals but never had such a ****** experience like this treated like your not good enough to be in her office shes never appolgized. im not the only one she's done this to either look at her bad "yelps) and you'll see a pattern for treating certain customers like this but i guess if your rich she treats you right and the some. i'll finish with this don't ever pay her in advance unless you want a ****** expperience or have dentures that you can't wear or eat with now its been a year.still waiting o that's right she doesn't care now its my problem i'm out 10,000 and ca't eat regular food still, but why should she care, she's two faced and the worst doctor/dentist I've ever had the displeasure of ever having to see. your better off not seeing her unless you are really rich if your a workiing class person don't see her unless you want to be screwed over like i've been. thanks for nothing thief! justin farrell read more

It had been two years since moving to Sonoma and I've finally found a good fit for me. I really appreciate the calm and inviting office atmosphere. Massage chairs and and aquarium in the waiting room. All the intake forms were done via email/online ahead of my appointment. I went in due to a molar pain. Was presently surprised to get my teeth cleaned too by Dr Marcus Rice. Everyone was friendly and made me feel comfortable. They are a Delta Dental preferred provider, so no out of pocket expenses. read more

My family and I have been coming to Dena Marus for a while. Ever since we started coming, I have enjoyed the customer service and the treatment we have received. I don't think there is something that I can think of that I am not happy with their job. Rip off! They told us they accept our insurance and then sent us a family bill for over $500! I reviewed the few schedules with the office prior to visit and did not do anything more than the cleaning and X-rays. This is a bait and switch scam and now I'm dealing with aggressive collection agency. This office I'm only cares about money and I would avoid! I've been seeing Dr. Dena Marcus for over 2ys. I first came to her office with severe dental pain caused by poor dentistry from a previous dental group after a bridge procedure. I needed two root canals, a back molar was infected and my bite was off causing me to bite my lips due to the ill fitting bridge. Dr. Marcus was able to determine the problems and had a plan to correct my issues in one visit. She resolved my problems in only a few appointments. She always has a smile and a great personality. Nice people but I'm not going back. After two years there I've come to the conclusion that they're more adept at cleaning my wallet than my teeth. Avoid the $500 upsell for a dental guard. Three unsuccessful trips to try to get this worthless appliance to fit right. Got better results with a CVS pliable mouth guard for $35. No offer of a refund or discount on my next visit but rather the "recommendation" to replace a filling with a $1600 crown. Got a 2nd opinion from a quality Mexican dentist that I've used in the past that would have done the job for $450 but talked me out of it as unnecessary and that doing it could lead to pain and/or a root canal. read more

My nieghbor referred them to me so I called them at 5:00 Tuesday afternoon and they got me in at 8:00 the following morning before their regular office hours. I am new to Sonoma and checked with quite a few people and read many reviews before making the decision to go with Dr Marcus. I knew I needed a root canal in a molar and needed the best treatment. Of course I put it off as long as I could. I was so pleased to call one afternoon and the appointment the following day! Her staff is attentive, the dental office is clean and well equipped with the latest technology. It didn't take Dr. Marcus long to diagnose the problem. She thoroughly explained the process and gave me an accurate quote for the needed procedure. Since I planned on going out of town for vacation the following week she started the procedure for the tooth along with the pain right away. Maureen, her dental assistant, is attentive and caring. Both put me at ease. While out of town I needed antibiotics and pain medication. Dr. Marcus was available to chat on the phone about what was going on with me on a Saturday! My initial visit to the office was impressive. Dr. Dena actually took the time to measure my gum and tooth clearance and put it in a file as a baseline for future reference. Who does this??? As and old guy I have been to a lot of dentists and this had never happened. Impressive that not only did she go above and beyond what her piers do but did it with a smile on her face. Today I was back for a cleaning with Becki. Holy Cow Batman!!! By far the best cleaning I have ever had with absolutely no pain. This may seem a little on the silly side yet I am very particular when it comes to my teeth. I floss, brush, whiten and have used a variety of tartar removal products. I may even be a borderline fanatic. My point is that if you want the best dental care around consider this office. I hadn't been to Dr Marcus for about 3 years since my dental insurance had changed so I had to go elsewhere. Then I had a molar break and a infection started causing fever, chills, and vomiting- awful! It was after hours so after calling my current dentist multiple times to no avail I called Dr Marcus - she called me back in 10 minutes plus called in a antibiotic right away and I had them in under 2 hours. Plus she got me in the next morning ! I never got a call back from my current dentist even after multiple messages so I'd rather pay out of pocket to see Dr Marcus. I needed a root canal, crown and a extraction on another tooth, none of which I'd ever had before so I was super nervous. The entire staffed calmed my nerves, checked in on me , gave me a cozy blanket and I didn't feel any part of it- absolutely zero pain or even tenderness! I cannot recommend Dr Marcus and her staff highly enough, they are so great!!! Truly from a fearful patient to not even feel the numbing injections and my mouth wasn't even sore or anything after my root canal. I went here once in 2015 for an infected wisdom tooth. DR Deena Marcus said I needed to go to an oral surgeon after my exam. So I did I had it extracted at an oral surgeon because it was impacted. After I had complications from the extraction, I called DR Marcus's office to come in. They said I could not come in with that problem because the extraction wasn't done there. But, after that, every time I have tried to come in, they told me I could not see them if it had anything to do with the extraction! THEN after that I called for a new problem last week, and they said they were booked that day, I asked if there was any appointments in the next week, and the cold mean receptionist told me to go find someone else. I inquired of why she didn't want to book me, and she said again "Go find someone else if you're in pain why wait days to come here." She was unwilling to schedule me for the next week, when I was calling on a Friday....as if a two and a half day wait would kill me. I got the message and hint that DR Marcus refused to see me...ever. They haven't told me I am banned, so hopefully when they read this comment they can reply to me and just lay it out and tell me I am banned, because all signs point to it. There should be no reason for it, I didn't do anything wrong, but it's the fifth time I have been denied treatment here. The staff was friendly, cheerful and engaging as was the doctor.
