Kaylie brought joy & comfort to Denny, bringing her guitar & allowing him to sing & feel a part of himself he had lost a long time ago. Cody provided a man to converse with about old times & life memories. She provided protection for my Mom's heart in the most difficult hours & gave all that she had to ensure Denny had any comfort he needed that she could provide. I have been thinking about this review for almost three months as the investigation in to me from…read moreAdult Protective Services slowly made it's way to the finish line with a complete exoneration to the accusations from Sunshine Home Health. These people came in to my home for less than a week and reported me to APS for "Neglecting" my dad. I will point out it was news to my dad that he had been neglected. My dad had just moved in to my house, I was NOT his caregiver and he was in full control of his life with my assistance. I was never once part of a care meeting, therapy session or anything. My dad was in full control of his faculties and asked me to do lots of things, which I did. I work a full time job and was NOT my dad's caregiver at the time. He was in fine shape and again, if he needed anything from me he would ask, and ask he did. We fully outfitted his unit in my lower level with a walk in shower, grab bars, toilet riser, ramps etc. I had taken care of my mom who died in Feb from advanced dementia as her only caregiver in that same lower level unit. That was literally why I bought this house. I had so many home health companies come and help and I never once heard anything but, "you take good care of your mother". She went on Hospice and was bed ridden for almost 7 months while I took care of her with the help of Spokane Hospice. They were fantastic and I never saw a single note that didn't say the I took great care of my poor mom. Having these people make such awful allegations has done so much harm to my mental health and family as I continue to take care of my dad who is in much worse shape after a series of terrible nursing homes. Sunshine wastes valuable resources from APS with these attacks. There are other reviews that say the same thing. The CEO of Sunshine did a letter to the editor in the Spokesman talking about the hero caregivers who take care of their family. What a joke. I personally feel like this report had more to do with my pride flag than anything else. In short, DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE INSIDE YOUR HOME!!!! There are so many other really good options but this is not one of them.

False reports were made to Police and APS; who found no violations or negligence. In fact, a certain manager, shower aide, and a social worker were characterized as vindictive and attention seeking by APS. Regulations were misquoted, as a matter of law, and generally caused completely unnecessary drama for our family. I can't imagine how much worse it would be for people with loved ones in assisted living. I highly urge people to keep looking for other resources.

Pressuring me for money upfront when I was laying in a hospital bed with tubes and IV's everywhere was also unacceptable. When I questioned all that went on at my home (or didn't go on) the woman I spoke with had an answer/excuse for everything. She was full of BS. It was so bad with neighbors for witnesses that I am considering legal action. The last 2 days with different caregivers went well, but by that time I was home having to leave the hospital early because of what was going on at home. I was also being called in the hospital every 5 minutes from people in this company and also by neighbors telling me what was happening. My spouse and pets were definitely traumatized by the shenanigan's in my home. I went back to the company I used before, Love In Home Senior Care, they are wonderful and bill twice monthly, not in your face when you are half dead in a hospital like an aggressive used car salesman not respecting your health and crisis. My husband was filthy and very stinky when I got home, he thought I was dead, my house was FILTHY and my dogs didn't even have water. I had to have someone come and clean the day after I got home. My list is endless... I can honestly say, 2 of the supposed caregivers and the 2 women I had to deal with did not care about us at all. I could go on all day about all that went bad, however I thank 2 of the true caregivers that came through for us in the end.

My mother opened an AFH in Spokane and we ended up taking care of my boyfriend's grandmother and ended up reuniting his father with his mother whom he had not seen or heard from in over forty years. It was one of the things that steered my final decision towards caregiving; making a difference and the unexpected soul-touching moments. I might just have caregiving in my blood as my mother was an LPN and my great-aunt an RN. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver, in AFHs and through agencies and of all the places that I've worked throughout my time as first an NAC and then as a CNA I have to say my favorite has been/is "Home Care Assistance". It's evident from the start that they care about their employees as well as their clients and the managing staff in Liberty Lake are beyond amazing. They all need to be honored and recognized for their hard work; Tia and Amy and Jen and Brandie should all get an award for going above and beyond mere management duties. I wouldn't want to work for any other agency ever. I am really happy that they, and all the clients I've been assigned to so far, really seem to like me because I plan on staying on for as long as they'll have me. They've got themselves a happy, experienced, very loyal employee right here. If you're a caregiver and are good at your job and can show it and love people and are currently looking for work then I wouldn't hesitate to apply with this company. Sincerely, AEB, CNA at HCA (Current Employee)

She is not ready to leave her home, so we thought we would try this and it is so nice to know there are people out there who want to help and it gives us such peace of mind to know they are watching out for our mom when we are not able to be there. They are professional and caring and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for some additional care for their aging parents. Great company, great people. Tammy F.
