Without notification to banks or their clients, Deluxe increased their prices while reducing the product by 20%. Costing the client around 25% to 40% more overall for the product. That is just customer gouging. Losing their integrity, respect, quality and trust across the board from the banks that coordinate with them and those customers the bank sends to them. In an effort to save their profit line for the CEOs pocketbooks they have sacrificed their reputation and credibility. We ordered checks from Deluxe and the paper quality and layout was perfect. Since we ran out of checks we reordered and we received cheap copy paper that tears easily when trying to remove checks and with a cheap looking layout. All the lines moved and the routing numbers are further up from the bottom of the page leaving the signature line to be pushed up and crammed. Deluxe management, please go back to your old version of checks or will no longer use your service. Whoever suggested this idea should be fired immediately. Quality over quantity read more

I do not have a printer. I do not have a fax machine. I was reviewing my accounts and realized that I was missing a $2,500 refund of a deposit from an auction house. I discovered that they refunded the deposit using a Deluxe e-check three MONTHS earlier. What is a Deluxe e-check? It is an email with a image of a check in PDF format. Deluxe expects e-check recipients to download a PDF of the e-check and then print it. My bank does not take PDFs of checks. I don't have a printer. Deluxe support recommended that I purchase a memory stick and bring the file down to an office store to print. I imagine I would have to also buy an adapter to connect my tablet to the memory stick. Don't know. Don't want to know. I asked Deluxe to just print the check and mail it to me. They refused. I asked Deluxe for a direct electronic deposit. They refused. They said I had to take it up with the auction house. Seriously, Deluxe should just provide a paper check option or an electronic deposit option upon customer request. That would make their e-check platform less onerous. The auction house said that to get a paper check, I would have to pay them a fee to issue a stop-payment of the e-check. I am giving Deluxe two stars because my $2,500 has not been completely lost but as of now I have not been able to retrieve it. UPDATE: After nine days, I was able to find a way to print the e-check. I carefully cut it out and tried to deposit it at my Citibank's ATM. The ATM rejected it. I will have to return during business hours to see a live teller. Arg! read more

This has been the absolute worst experience with customer service I have ever had. I ordered my checks months ago, payed an extra charge to have them sent even sooner than they were expected (so they should have arrived in two business days) and they STILL have not arrived. I tried calling the company and they don't let you get a hold of a customer service representative! I have tried emailing through their website and they keep on saying there is an "error" and that the message can't be sent (this has happened every single time I have tried sending a message). I am appalled at the terrible service of Deluxe. And at this point, I believe they are a complete scam. They stole my money, never gave me my checks, and they won't let me get a hold of anyone to see where my checks are or to request a refund. I cannot stress enough how awful Deluxe is. Truly terrible. AVOID!!! They lost our check order 2x in a row. After waiting for a month, we asked for a refund and ordered through another company (and got those checks 7 days later!). Deluxe assured me that I would get a refund, but it did not appear. After calling several numbers, and emailing, to no avail, I finally talked to a human who said, "We can't process a refund from a request by a customer. You have to call your bank." I did so and am waiting to see if the refund shows up in my account. It it nearly 8 weeks since we originally ordered checks from Deluxe. They never sent us anything, refused to directly refund us, and made it as difficult as possible to actually reach their customer service. I have called twice, put in an on line complaint (to which I was given a ticket number. No one has ever even contacted me in reference to this "ticket number ") I have spoken to someone there twice. The last time over a week ago with a promise she would get back with me within a few days. I have received no follow up phone call or email. I placed an order for checks and envelopes in May. I STILL have not received the envelopes, even though I've been charged for them. It's been 2 1/2 months and I would have never known what the status is, as they did not contact me. I had to call three times, and each time "they're out of stock but should be in next week" but nothing. THEN the checks that they sent me had the WRONG ACCOUNT NUMBER on them - we have two divisions, and they switched the account numbers. I had proofed them as correct, but they did not print to the proofs. This caused one of our bank accounts to bounce by over $850K. I was furious, although I do have to say they did get me a corrected set of checks overnight and luckily my bank worked with me. But I am never taking my business back again, after I've ordered checks and envelopes from them for 12+ years. My bank uses Delux as their provider for customer checks. I ordered new checks from Delux and received a shipping conformation on February 4, 2022. As of February 21, 2022 I have still not received my checks. I contacted Delux and they told me "my checks are most likely lost and that if I do not receive them by March 30, 2022 I should contact my financial institution and alert them". Really? I have been a Deluxe Check customer for Decades. Two weeks ago I paid $25 for a Box of checks for my Mom, cost about $25 over the web, charged to my bank account. (turns out the box of checks was simply a book of 25 checks) Ten days later I get notice via email that the checks had "arrived via US Postal" at my Mom's apartment on Wednesday. She never got them. Took off work on Friday, chewed some ass at the apartment management regarding checks which were lost. Called Deluxe Cust Support, lady said "should not be a problem, email notices are frequently wrong, actual delivery of checks will prolly be 3-4 days AFTER notice of delivery was sent out by email". What the H? Is Deluxe TOTALLY crazy? Maybe. Perhaps they have the company in "harvest mode". Checks Unlimited, Deluxe Checks, all of the companies under the Deluxe umbrella seem to be operating the same way as this scenario: I was presented with an offer of $4.95 for the first box $.10 for the second box and free shipping. By the time I got the checkout my charges for my free shipping were $13.10 and $2.46 for sales tax which is weird since they are in Colorado Springs and I am just outside of Denver. I did not fall for their "EZ Shield" service BS and never finished processing my order. This company is part of the Deluxe Corporation. These guys have been around forever! Are you telling me they have built their entire business ripping people off with outrageous shipping/handling fees and ridiculous insurance service charges no one needs over the years? Absolutely shady business practices. I placed an order for 500 business checks, two different deposit book sets and two stamps for doing the deposits. All seems well, but on checkout I notice a charge on the bill for $30+ for fraud insurance and I can't seemingly remove it.. oh no.. I don't think so.. so back to the main website, look at the cart, find the item, remove it, as I didn't request this at all. Fabulous.. back to the cart, ready to check out for the 2nd time.. look at the items.. magically.. a new item has appeared.. for.. you guessed it.. fraud insurance.. but this time, it's only $20. Oh, I don't think so.. back to the main site.. cart.. remove the fraud insurance that I didn't ask for.. (at this point, I'm ready to kill the order and move to another company.. but.. I don't).. ready to place the order.. see my discount code for 60% off is in place.. total order around $300.. still overpriced, but alas, I don't have time to redo it elsewhere.. so I click.. place order.. and.. you guessed it.. Deluxe REMOVED the discount code and charged me $765.78. I'm guessing because I didn't want their fraudulent charge for insurance on my bill.. I've bought my checks from Deluxe for 30+ years.. haven't needed a new order in a long while.. so went back to them because of the good results I've always had in the past.. well, I will be cancelling the order with my credit card company in the morning.. I have been using Deluxe for so many years, I had stopped paying attention. Bad idea. I just assumed they had my back as a business owner since I had been ordering checks from them for 20+ years. Well, I was wrong. They have been ripping me off for years. They suckered me into the eChecks recently. I actually like that service and obviously it is the future. But I changed banks recently because well, banks suck. And you think Deluxe would just change my bank numbers for the eChecks that I paid $$$ for a month ago, right? Wrong. They wanted me to pay all over again for these "virtual" checks. What a money grab. The hard copy checks, $.45/check. Robbery. Go get yourself a Costco membership and save your money. read more

I recommend that businesses do not use Deluxe e-checks because they use deceptive tactics to cause your customers to incur excessive charges! In my case this amounted to $99.50! I was provided a refund e-check which a direct deposited to my account. It was short by $99.50. I contacted deluxe and was told it is a direct deposit fees. I had no way of anticipating such an excessive fee! I have been a deluxe customer for over 30 years and will never order from them again. I have contacted the business that originally issued the check asking them to intervene or refund this fee. Again, businesses should NOT use the deluxe e check service. I asked if I can have the same checks, but no, apparently business accounts have to use "business" checks, none of which I wanted. I have been a Deluxe eCheck customer for over 10 years. I had an issue with my account and the issue was sent to their Tier 2 Support. Tier 2 Support is unable to solve my issue. It's been over a month and they are still unresponsive. Worse Customer Support I have EVER Experienced. They keep saying Tier 2 is working on it, yet nobody at Tier 2 will talk to you. Over 30 days of been LOCKED OUT of my account, and they won't talk to me. read more

Imagine my surprise when my checks did not show up when I called to get a tracking number and was told there was none because "standard" means "bulk mail"! What vendor ships without a tracking number anymore? For checks no less! If that wasn't bad enough both the customer service rep and a manager told me it was "my fault for picking standard shippng". NOWHERE does their site say if you pick this option your checks are not trackable! Fortunately, my checks showed up today. read more
