My nephew who is 16 just wrapped up his junior year in high school. He was chosen to attend the AF JROTC Academy for the summer with the end goal of earning a private pilot's license.
His father who served in the National Guard and was active duty, will be retiring from the police force in 10 years. He has his own plane and plans to flight privately to keep income coming in once he retires. His son is interested in going into the Air Force Academy at this time.
During the flight he had to combat a wasp in the cockpit which he is not fond of and his mom was so proud he was able to handle the situation so maturely. It won't let me post the video clip so I took a pic of it as a visual.
