We didn't avail ourselves of the $3 breakfast, but it was nice to have the option for such a reasonable price. It was located close -- a short drive or healthy walk-- to downtown Palm Beach, and to the causeway over to the shore. I managed to forget my computer in the drawer, I realized a couple days after having checked out (but fortunately before boarding a plane). Mike, the very friendly owner, set it aside for me when I called in a panic and personally put it into my hand when I came back for it. Definitely a foolish mistake on my part, but Mike and his staff helped me avoid disaster through their integrity and responsiveness. New Sun gate is a nice place to stay, and the honesty of the staff and owner are huge reasons alone to give this place a big thumbs up.

I rang the bell at midnight the day I checked in. The owner must live on site, because he came to the door in sleeping attire. He took me to my room, and showed me everything. After he left, I started unpacking, and he called my room from the front desk, and asked if I needed water, or anything else. I only have 2 complaints: beds were a little too firm, and the AC was a little too noisy. I knew there was nothing they could do about it, so I just ran the AC all day while I was out and about, and shut it off at night. Slept just fine. I was skeptic at first, about actually having to call and make a reservation, but I am glad I did. Saved a lot of money by staying here, and it got the job done.

My wife and I used to get Airbnb places all the time in the area, and we would walk right past the Coral Key Inn on our way to the beach. Recently, Airbnb jacked up their cleaning fees and made it more expensive than many hotels in the area. That's how we decided to go on Expedia and look up good deals in the area. The rooms are simple, but accommodating. We get room number 5 if it's available. It's a single king bed with a full kitchen. The kitchen comes stocked with everything you need to make a meal. The fridge is a full size fridge with a full sized freezer. The bathroom is simple, and a bit cramped for my 6'3" frame, but I managed just fine. Plenty of closet space, and the bed is above average comfortable, I slept like a baby. The pool is small, and in the peak winter months, it will get packed in the pool area. I think the negative reviews come from people that are not familiar with the rules. An "Inn" is not a big hotel like a Hyatt or a Hilton. Most inns in South Florida are for the guests ONLY. I understand people want to have their family over for parties and cookouts, but this is a small inn. The property is not big enough to accommodate all the paying guests and then extra family and friends who want to have a pool party. We found all the employees to be very professional and appreciative of our business. Our 2 nights cost us $280 including all the taxes and service fees. $140/night in the Lauderdale by the Sea area is a steel. Plus you don't have to pay extra for parking or wifi. Everything is in walking distance. The beach is literally across the street. There is a Publix supermarket two blocks away, and you gotta try Billy Jacks Shack for dinner/happy hour...just a 10 minute walk. We'll be back...

We've never stayed in the main building or used the other pool so I can't give an opinion about that side of the hotel. We just finished up our 4th stay there and have always had a great time. We were able to check in early and get some extra beach time in. We love that the hotel is clean, quiet and just a short walk (across a small road) from the beach. It's also walking distance to Publix, first watch and other restaurants/shops.
