Great people and a very thorough exam…read more Eye doctors I've seen in Holland left me waiting in the exam room then raced in and raced out again. Dr. Annis took his time and made sure any questions I had were answered. I have no reason to go anywhere else.

Dr. Annis is truly a good optometrist. However, if you want frames and lenses, the "optician" isn't…read morethe best - if she really is one. She's no expert on how to assess what frames are best for you and the selection is limited. If they don't have the color you want, she shows you what they can order from her I-pad. They had a style that I thought I wanted. I was wrong on that. Also, the only color (of 3) available on the rack had really dark frames - they were navy. Later, I found out that all three of the colors available had really dark frames. I couldn't tell by looking at a partial view on her I-pad. Furthermore, she informed me that the plastic frames I liked would fit my large (broken from falling on it in childhood) or wide bridge. Well, they didn't. My bad, had I known. I found plastic frames at Walmart that actually DID fit my wide bridge. Either way, I was wrong about the plastic - I had metal for YEARS; put off getting new glasses far too long, and like a babe in the woods I didn't really know what would work. I have them and realized eye pads would be better. However, when I went back and found the exact frames that I wanted (again, not the color I wanted - I had to see the color I wanted on the little I-pad in a close-up partial view) I was quite pleased; I picked these out myself, ignoring her selections. The color they did have in stock was a metal frame and vivid enough for me to know that any color, shape, and size would be fine in that frame and also much more comfortable. I told her I was sure on those (since I picked them out myself, knowing this second time how much her "expertise" was lacking). Then, she told me, "fine, but you'll have to wait until this color frame arrives here before WE can put lenses into them." I told her that I was sure that they would work and to go ahead with the lenses. She refused and said, "Oh, no" I'd have to see the color first and then wait another week (two weeks total). After all, it was my fault that the color wasn't there (supposed to be some rose swirl color - no matter - all 3 colors had the same DARK frames) and that they were the wrong size for my wide nose. Of course, she reminded me that I was the one who wanted plastic frames. OK, sure, I thought I did and I was wrong. Who is he "expert" here? For the $$ I was laying down, I'd expect an expert. Finally, knowing how inexperienced she truly was, I just told them to give me a refund. I found out that the whole package was over $400. Wow, I'm glad I got the refund! She NEVER did quote any prices to me on any of the available frames. A month later, I still don't have new frames as I have to go out of town to find reasonably priced ones; my time is limited. The doctor is great - a thorough exam was done and i was happy with that, for sure. He also sent me a letter of apology. However, if he wants to sell glasses, he needs to pay up for a real optometrist who knows how to advise a client in the right manner. She was young, curt and pretty clueless and I'm being nice. Also, in order to choose from a variety of frames, They should have better pictures available for colors. The ones I chose ALL had frames that apparently, looked black, aside from the one that they had on display - the sides were right but I couldn't tell by looking at the I-Pad (guess I mentioned that before). Someday, I'll get to "Eyeglass World."

I called and receptionist and she was very rude and said she was contacted awhile back and was told to cancel the appointments which did not happen. Not surprised tho. The business is a money maker with little to no customer appreciation and as the customer I've always felt like an inconvenience. 0 stars. By the looks of the reviews I'm not the only one that has had issues here. Charles thank you for the quick response but that is just a professional way of telling me to pound salt the same way your receptionist did when I called your office with concerns and to try and resolve the issue. Thanks for the abandonment of care for me and my family. Thank you, Come to find out this is just an automated response. Thanks for the sincerity Charles.

HOWEVER, Dr. Cohrs office is still doing the full service and taking their time and giving us excellent un-rushed service. Dr. Cohrs and his staff are the best. I can't recommend them enough!

MAH Horrible experience…read more I would like to preface this by stating that I have previously had a very positive opinion of Dr. Cohrs personally. I firmly believe his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dental work are truly impeccable, and I appreciated his clinical care during my previous visits over the years. During my most recent visit though, things had changed. I was told by the hygienist, Lyndi, that a panoramic X-ray was "required by law" to maintain their license, with implied risk if refused. No such Michigan law exists--regulations cover equipment safety only, not mandating patient imaging (per LARA-Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Michigan Dental Association). My low-risk profile (excellent hygiene, no cavities in years, healthy gums, recent normal bitewings) showed no clinical need. ADA 2026 guidelines require panoramic only when necessary, to minimize radiation, not routinely. When I raised the issue feeling misled about Timberview losing their license, the hygienist called in the office manager who was beyond rude, defensive, interrupted repeatedly by obscuring and pivoting to "our standard of care," then asked my opinion of their standard. I said it felt revenue-driven rather than evidence-based. She immediately told me to leave. This was gaslighting: obscuring the obvious falsehood with vague "patient care standards" and punishing honest feedback with abrupt dismissal. Deceptive communication and unprofessional handling erode trust. Patients deserve transparency, not pressure and deflection. Unfortunately the unprofessional conduct of the office manager--particularly her repeated interruptions, twisting of the initial misleading statement, dismissive attitude, and abrupt decision to ask me to leave after I shared my honest opinion--has eroded my trust in the practice as a whole. Despite my high regard for Dr. Cohrs' skills and care, this experience will unfortunately prevent me from returning. Perhaps the business/name change to Timberview Dental has caused the business to now become profit driven over patient care driven. Be VERY careful about agreeing to unnecessary procedures that are lining their pockets.

After trying three dentists in the area and feeling unsatisfied, I decided to finally try one more time and wow am I so glad I did. Not only was the staff so considerate and welcoming, but I actually felt like I wasn't crazy for my concerns or worries. I felt like the things I was asking for to make the experience more manageable wasn't hard but several other dentists treated me like I just needed to get over my fear rather than helping me overcome it. This is the first time I left a dental office feeling confident and comfortable about scheduling my follow up appointment. My filling was also so well done and super smooth, not gritty like I've had in the past! If you want to have a better experience at the dentist, be sure to give this place a try. I was referred to Dr. George Kirby at West Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after a routine…read moredental exam indicated the need for an extraction of a couple of wisdom teeth. This being my first surgical experience, I was quite nervous. At my initial consultation with Dr. Kirby he informed me that one of the teeth wouldn't need to be pulled at this time. This was a refreshing surprise for a dental practitioner to not push for as many procedures as possible. During this consultation, everything was explained and easy to understand. Dr. Kirby stayed to answer any questions I had and I didn't feel rushed at all. It was as if I was his only patient that day with the level of attention he and his assistant showed me during that consultation. Upon leaving the consultation, I felt more at ease about the procedure and felt confident that Dr. Kirby would take good care of me. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Kirby was running a bit behind schedule due to some additional work a previous patient was having performed. But, Dr. Kirby's assistant checked on me regularly and kept me informed the entire time. When Dr. Kirby arrived in my procedure room, he answered a couple more questions I had and then went to work. The procedure went perfectly and Dr. Kirby even spent some time in the recovery room with me to answer after-care questions and make sure I knew everything I needed to before heading home. In the months following my procedure, I ran into some issues with my insurance company. Dr. Kirby provided a letter for the insurance company on my behalf and ensured that the situation was completely resolved. The fact that his high-level of care and compassion extends beyond the surgical room shows he truly cares about his patients' whole experience. Dr. Kirby's ability to quickly put me at ease and the level of care and attention he provides is extraordinary. While nobody looks forward to dental surgery, if I ever find myself in need of it again, Dr. Kirby will always be my first choice.
