FRESH CALAMARI! When…read moreI say fresh, I mean fresh! There was a line waiting to get fresh calamari and the smell was just too alluring that we had to line up ourselves. You can opt just for calamari or get a mix (fish, shrimp too). We went with the mix/combo and my tummy and taste buds did not regret it one bit at all. SO yummy. Next time, I want to get just the calamari. I love the tentacles :) Other than that, this place is cash only and it's located inside the Mercato Centrale.

Absolutely amazingly Delicious and super fresh food. We went…read morehere about two years ago, and we were blown away by the taste of the dishes. This time Florence was not in our itinerary, but because my husband liked their food Dom much, he drove extra 2 hours just to dine in this restaurant. That's how much we loved the food here))) I think it says a lot. This time we ordered seafood lasagna, and it was out of this word. Sensational!!!!

They were either overcooked or bad as it was just total mush. They apologized and took it away and we ended up splitting mine. The real issue was they were going to charge us 11 euro anyway for a bad fish! His response was it's normally 35 euro which makes absolutely no sense. After arguing, I got back the 11 euro. He was obviously trying to screw me. On top of that, the bread that we paid 2.50 each for was only 2 pieces and stale. Stay away!

We wanted to try the Livorno's famed cacciucco, as the locals seem to love it. We also had a seared fish (I don't remember what it is called now). We quite liked the seared fish. Unfortunately, cacciucco didn't quite match our food preferences. I blame our tastes, not the restaurant or the dish itself. The owner was so nice that we didn't want to see him being disappointed that we didn't care for the cacciucco and tried to get away without seeing him clean up after I paid for the meal. Unfortunately, he caught us as we were leaving and I heard him sigh after seeing we didn't consume much of the cacciucco.
