The place is very welcoming and has that old school yet young feel about it. The bar tender knows his job and will make sure you get all the information and advice you need for a proper beer tasting. There is also a game of darts downstairs and a pool table upstairs, everything you need to spend a good night out! The upstairs section can also fit large groups of 10 to 20 people. Definately a place to go when in the beautiful city of Rouen. As far as the beers are concerned, the house advice goes to the kwak, a bitter not that bitter and the deliriun tremens. Drink responsibly still because, those beers are not what you are used to, they usually show a proud 8 or 9 degrees

Mind you, considering that there are a lot of those Tabac pubs scattered about, this one actually isn't all that bad, and is actually reasonably charming. At one stage it was apparently a scottish bar (if there is actually such a place), however it seems as if this is no longer the case, and is now a scandanavian themed bar. It is a little out of the way, which basically means getting does taken a little bit of time, but it is certainly worth it, especially with the river side (sort of, there is a road between the bar and the river) location.

I was a bit iffy about this pub at first because it simply seemed to be one of those old man pubs…read morethat only the locals visit (despite the fact that it is across the road from a hotel that doesn't happen to have a bar - though most people probably head off towards the Cathedral where there seems to be a bit more of some night life). Anyway, I wanted to bit of a break from doing stuff on my computer (namely uploading reviews, and photos, which seems to take quite a long time) so I decided to pop down here with my book and grab a beer. Well, all I can say was that I was incredibly impressed. I guess I had had a bit of a bad run with some of these back street bars however the owner, and the waitress, were really really nice, and were more that happy to have me around. In fact I liked it so much I went down a second time for another beer (and the only reason I didn't go elsewhere was because I was waiting for my brother to finish his meal and we were going off to the Cathedral lights a little later). Anyway, it is a great place for a relaxing drink in a much quieter part of Rouen.
