The range of foods on offer is good - my own favourites are the fabulous date and walnut/cheese and walnut breads and the wonderful lemon smoked mackerel on the fish counter. Very very good, but then every supermarket has its specialities. What I also go to Morrisons for are the low prices, and although not across the board, I would say on average it is the most economical supermarket if you are willing to fill half your trolley with items from their value range. (As most people are, of late!) Also they have a good stock of cardboard boxes readily available, often very handy to have around and helpful for transporting your groceries!

This is where I do my Friday big shop. I know that that's a pretty way to start a review, but hear…read moreme out... There are so many places to get what you need for a week, from posh to not so posh. But still i go to Morrison's. That annoying advert on TV tells us that ASDA is cheaper. But still I go to Morrison's. The place looks like it was built in the 70's. But still I go to Morrison's. To be honest, everyone uses the same supermarket that their parents use. I was brought up in a Morrison's family, and a Morrison's man i shall remain! The only reason that it doesn't have 5 stars is as mentioned above, it looks like it was erected in the 1970's and really could do with the bit of a spruce up. The deli counter is excellent and I'm now even on first name terms with some of the staff there. What more could you want... oh yeah, I already went through that didnt I?

Sainsbury's

This branch of Sainsbury's is a fairly impressive store, it is located on Marsh Way and is…read morebasically apart of the Trinty Walk Shopping Centre, it is located in the same part as ASDA George and Next, with a few places to shop and eat upstairs in a lift, just outside the store. I really like this branch of Sainsbury's, however as much as I'd like to give it a high three star rating, possibly even a generous four I can't for the following reasons - Service - Price to park - Opening Hours I will focus on each one individually Opening Hours: The store is only open between 7am and 10pm, I feel this is quite restrictive especially for a large supermarket, with many of them normally staying open until later, for example Tesco stores now are often 24 hours, especially stores the size of this one, and my local branch of Sainsbury's is at least open an hour longer most days until 11pm. Parking Charges: With the store being located in a retail park, you have to pay for parking which is around 80p an hour, in my opinion this is disgusting for a supermarket, and the fact it is located in a retail park might make the traffic and length of time getting in and out be longer too, even the Sainsbury's marked car park is charged which I don't understand. There was no signs for a money back scheme if you visited the store which in my opinion is a real shame and is putting off people perhaps to go to this branch, perhaps they might go to a rival. Not a smart move! Service: The staff once again seemed dis-interested, they didn't seem the most engaging and willing to help which was also a shame. Going back to my regular review, this store did impress me especially for gluten free selection, they sold the fresh bread (small baguettes and bread) at the bakery, which some stores do including my local branch at Heaton Park, however some do not. They also sold a good range of gluten free products, some I've found quite rare and hard to track down such as the full range of the Newburn Bakehouse by Warburton Artisan breads, I managed to pick up a tiger bread I was pleased about. The gaming selection was satisfactory, but it was merely average compared to other supermarkets, I found the prices to be on a tad of the pricier side when compared to rivals such as Amazon and more direct competitors in Tesco. The store is also nice because it just feels slightly modern when you look at it from the outside, especially towards the front of the store, but it just feels like a typical Sainsbury's as you walk around, perhaps similar once again to my local branches of Heaton Park and Oldham. This branch is okay, but as previously mentioned I sadly feel it is only a mid to high two star standard, with the service, opening houra and car parking charges seriously letting this branch down. UPDATE: After some consideration, this is quite a nice store and one of my more preferred branches of Sainsbury's, and it does deserve a slightly generous three star rating however some factors really do let this store down, as I discussed including parking charges through the location in the Trinity Walk Shopping Centre.

Do you fancy a place that has more awards than a pre Oscar's shindig? You know you do and…read moreSwillington Organic farm fits the bill. This is a great find and has an excellent reputation for some of the best organic meat and veg in the area. Not only do they have a long list of awards but they also provide supplies to Harvey Nichols as well. Not a bad boast. You can even try some rarer breed pork if that tickles your fancy. For me it's the organic free range eggs that appeal and some hearty herbs. You'll also be shopping in the knowledge that not only are they providers of organic produce but they also pride themselves on their fine animal welfare certificates for looking after all their animals. For me that is very important and I cannot praise them highly enough for it. They also offer guided walks around the farm and outlying area from time to time so it's a good idea to keep checking their website if you want to see more about where your food is coming from. Brilliant suppliers.

The people i spoke to really knew their product and were so very much commited to ensuring the best lives for their animals this level of passion is wonderful and the sausages i tasted were wholesome, nourishing but best of all I knew when chomping down this meat had been looked after and nurtured in the right way. My hats off to you and i hope this business continues for many generations xx
