I really like their chicken tikka masala (spicy) and the servings are really big for the price you pay. I don't write many reviews and only left this review b/c of the customer service, I made a mistake and ordered twice cause I didn't order a coke on my first order and the app didn't notify me that it had canceled the first, anyways I called they answered on the first ring and canceled my first order and threw in an extra can of coke for free! I haven't been there in a long time, so I don't know about the ambiance anymore. I have my food delivered now. The food is good and filling - if you get the "combo" between 4 PM and 9 PM. I can always tell when a new cook is in the kitchen, though. Sadly, "the heat" (the spiciness) is not as strong. The last time I ordered Chicken Shahi Korma, I had to add my own chopped pepper. Was in the mood for Indian food, so my partner ordered chicken tikka masala with garlic naan on the side. I thought the curry base was good because it was smooth and flavorful with a bit of tomato taste. They gave a good amount of chicken with it as well, which I appreciated. Pretty flavorless chicken curry. It felt like the chicken wasn't seasoned at all and it was just plain. Even the curry wasn't that great with all of it either. The rice, sauces, and the samosa were awesome. The naan bread is hefty and like one big pizza dough. Those were all great, but unfortunately the main dish was nothing special. Super rude! I used to dine here around 6 years ago. The staff used to be kind and friendly. I'm not sure if it's under new management. But the workers are very dour, almost as if they rather you not be there. I don't like to feel like I'm bothering or harassing wait staff if I ask for something. The place is also extremely dark. Coupled with their depressing demeanor, it's just not a good atmosphere. I had to ask for condiments (the green mint and chutney sauce-it should automatically come w my meal. I ordered the lamb vandiloo which comes with a side of rice. I also order plain Naan. It was my first time ordering from them and I dislike the curry because it was too oily and very very spicy. I have had my fair share of Indian cuisine but I believe it would have been a great idea to have different level of spiciness. The chicken tikka masala was quite good and the portion was quite generous for the price. The main dishes come with a serving of rice. The naan was also good, although not as fluffy as other places I've been to. I had the gajjar ka halwa for dessert, which was basically a warm bowl of sweet grated carrots. I couldn't really taste the pistachio in it, sadly. My friend enjoyed the kheer. The server was friendly and fast, and the main dishes are all very reasonably priced. I've enjoyed their chicken tikka special - it's a lot of food for a good price, and when the chicken is tender the Masala is really nice. But the issues I've had with Delhi Masala is their delivery drivers. It has finally reached a point where I can no longer support this restaurant. Each of the last 3 times I've ordered, the delivery person has called and refused to deliver the food to my door. They have lied about the reasons they can't (they forgot their bike lock, their legs hurt) or argued with me that is it unreasonable to expect them to walk up to my apartment. This is the only restaurant I've ordered from where it is a consistent problem. If you don't have an elevator in your building, be prepared for them to complain. Lasuni Gobi is all I have to say. I use to be a vegetarian before years back and this was always something I made it's so interesting how the flavor of battered friend cauliflower can remind you and chicken nuggets. Delhi Masala takes this recipe and kicks it up with there sauce. It really feels like your eating sweet and sour chicken. I ordered take out because I had some running around to do. Next time I do come here if I'm not going to sit down and enjoy these right then and there I'm going to order the sauce on the side. That way it's not all mushy, still tasted excellent for sure. Made a quick reservation on July 4th for six people around lunch time. Inside is toasty as the AC wasn't working all too well (and no fan), yet was manageable since most of the place was empty aside from us. Wasn't too hungry, so opted against any appetizers and settled on the Lamb Saag ($15) with a glass of red wine ($5). Each dish thankfully comes with its own rice, so didn't need to order anything extra. Food comes out in about 15 minutes - large portion of meat and spinach served in a metal bowl along with the rice. Lamb is cooked well and the saag is balanced (not too salty or spicy). Wine is your regular fare, probably would have been better with a beer. The waitress was nice and helped us through the menu since they were out of some things. I should have listened to the reviewer who had the watery tikka masala. But I was craving vindaloo and decided to take a chance. My order arrived quickly, but maybe too quick. Before I even opened the dish, I could tell my vindaloo sauce was too thin and watery by the way it moved around in the bowl. I was still hopeful since it smelled good enough. I received my order at 10:02p. By 10:09p, it was in the trash. Not only was the sauce thin, it was flavorless, as if water was actually poured on top of it. And yet, it was still somehow entirely too spicy. Like could not get through one bite without water spicy. Could barely taste the food because my tongue was numb spicy. And this comes from a spicy food lover. I could eat hot sauce out of the bottle. This sauce tasted like peppers and water, nothing else added.
