I vowed to come back again, regardless of the final product, based on their warm personalities and the history of the store. After receiving my guitar today, only a week or two after bringing it in, I am in absolute amazement with the final product. Manuel went above and beyond to make sure my guitar was in better shape than it has EVER been. Not only does is play perfectly (he fixed the action and stings to my exact liking), but he also made sure to stain the damaged area- it looks beautiful! He ended up having to create a completely new head stock from scratch and it's just gorgeous y'all. He even detailed it a bit- so kind and purely out of the goodness of his heart. All of this for a more than reasonable price. They also never once made me feel like my guitar was less important for being less expensive or because I am a newer guitar player. That's special. Phenomenal guitar maker and repair business!!! How does this business not have any reviews?? I couldn't wait to write one about Delgado Guitars (and particularly Manuel Delgado) because my experience was so incredible! My boyfriend had a LivingSocial deal to have his guitar repaired by Delgado Guitars. I went with him to pick up his guitar (which was ready and fully repaired in 2 days). We ended up spending ~45 minutes with Manuel Delgado, learning all about the guitars he makes and repairs. He showed us his work facility where he builds guitars from scratch (including bending the wood, most of the wood coming from international types of trees, which I found fascinating). Manuel is a 3rd generation Luthier (never knew what that meant before- good Jeopardy question!) It means a guitar (or other string instrument) maker. He clearly has much enjoyment and takes pride in his work. He is the friendliest guy, made us feel so welcome, recommended some local East Nashville restaurants/establishments, and pricing was very fair. He takes photos of the repairwork so you can see what has been worked on. I'm puzzled how this business has no reviews yet, but I'm happy to be the first and give it a full 5 stars!! read more

The best I've ever had the luck to encounter! Manuel is the pro of pros! I live in California now and he's still the only one I let work on my instruments. I had a crack in a violin last year which I figured was the beginning of the end. He patched it up in less than a week and when I brought it back for some bridge work this year, neither of us could see any sign of the crack having ever existed. Besides knowing the instruments inside and out and being extremely dependable, he's also just a fantastic person! I have never Yelped before, but I created an account exclusively to shout-out to this place. I'm shocked that there aren't more reviews on here for Delgado Guitars. I brought my guitar here after recently having moved from Boston, and it was in pretty rough shape with a warped sound. Manuel and his co-worker were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. His business of repairing and making guitars has been passed down through the generations of his family, and this was evident through his expertise and skillful service (not to mention the incredible newspaper articles on the walls of the shop praising the guitar work and history of his father and grandfather). He gave me a very reasonable estimate and said that it could probably be ready within the week, which I thought was a great turnover since there were quite a few areas on the guitar that needed some TLC. I guess Manuel's co-worker overheard me saying to my cousin that I had hoped it would be ready in time for my dad to come and hear me play since he was flying in from Boston that week, and they called me TWO days later with everything completely mended. He said that they had made it a priority because they heard me talking about my family while I was waiting when I dropped it off. Not only that, Manuel took the time to write out a list of about twenty different restaurants and points of interests for my family and I to check out since I'm new to the area. He said that if we needed anything- the name of a mechanic, dentist- to give him a call. He was very genuine and my guitar sounds BEAUTIFUL now. I give them my highest recommendation.
