We had an old trunk that was my great grandfathers that had been in our family for years just sitting in a basement along with a cedar chest that had gotten damaged in a storage facility that we wanted to restore. I had contacted Michael Leo of Delaware Valley Restoration who requested we send pictures of each piece and he was very thorough at explaining everything that could be done to restore these wonderful heirlooms and that he did. Our trunk looks beautiful and Michael was able to restore the writing on the trunk that had not been visible before and we are using it in our family room it looks so fantastic. He also restored our cedar chest to its' original color and repaired the damages. They were also able to pick up and deliver both of these items which was a tremendous help to us. This is my second review of Michael Leo and his company Delaware Valley Restoration. This is by far the most professional and talented refinishing company in Chester County. I have been using Micheal for 30 years and the quality and pricing are always excellent. Michael loves bringing a piece of furniture back to life and he has done hope chests, dining room tables, chairs, and smaller side tables - all beautifully done. We cleaned out a family home and had well worn antiques from the 18 - 19th century. They were not useable in their current state so we were torn between restoring them or keeping them in the basement, out of sight. Michael restored them to their former beauty while respecting their previous finishes and making sure that everything he did to them was reversible so they would retain their value as antiques. We had them refinish a dining room set, a table and most recently they painted our kitchen cabinets. Michael was on the job site for the cabinet painting and as the owner doing the work, he had no one to blame if something wasn't right. DVR refinished a dining room table, 8 chairs, and 2 bedside tables for me. The old dining set finish had gone sticky over the years and would absorb moisture. The bedside tables had stains in the finish. My old sad furniture came back looking like new. I am very pleased with the professional work.
