Our food was quite slow to come out to a point where we had to speed through the rest of our visit to make the ferry in time. The view was simply unreal. The accommodation itself was cozy and huge, with your own fireplace! From the bed and pillows to the lovely bathroom, it was also perfectly thought out, efficient, and just want you need on a quick two day holiday. The staff was incredible and amazing to chat with. We enjoyed speaking with every single employee who takes pride in what they do at the boatshed. The food was also perfect, the first night a lamb dinner was perfection, and the best thing we've eaten so far. Breakfast included was a cherry on top. The proximity to the beach is unbeatable and we enjoyed a swim early in the morning before we checked out-- a completely empty beach too! Plus it helps that the boatshed supplies you with the beach materials you may need as well. Lastly, I had a painful bike accident and when I got back to the boatshed, Barbara was quick to assist, giving me antiseptic and calling the local medical center for me. Night in Auckland. The weather here is fantastically warm, 10degrees less than back home in Hawaii and this is their Summer Season. Kiwis have told me that the weather of 80degrees is hot. Man, come to Hawaii where it's humid plus almost 90 in the summer. But hey, it's different, not bad different. It's just different. The weather is perfect. The Moorings was a place I saw on hotels.com and from the moment I saw a picture of the ferries from the balcony was an eye catcher. It literally is the same view I saw from the pictures. The studio place was beautiful, very accommodating, got everything u needed and cleanliness. Kitchen with appliances, living room with a bed, and a bathroom. Definitely come back and book another night or two with the Moorings.

The hotel has private parking with access directly into the hotel - this costs $10 pr. night and is well given, so you don't have do drive around looking for a parking space. Some of the perks were they allow for guests to use shovels for hot water beach. Which certainly came in handy digging holes in the hot sand. Also, you can take a beach towel and I noticed a boogie board. There is a lounge room you can read or watch TV, check your email. We didn't use it much, because there was the patio facing the garden. Brekkie is about $12 paid the day before for continental. Let's talk about the restaurant. Ate here on Valentine's Day. We made sure to make our reservations. Gorgeous restaurant inside an old wooden church. You can eat inside or outdoors. My husband order the muscles and a beer, I ordered the baked eggplant with a glass of wine. Perfect meal.

They had two tv screens which she used to display pictures all evening. The bartender was pleasant and friendly and everyone looked like they had the best night.
