First off, I want to make it very clear that Moriah is not only extremely professional but an amazing caring person! We have had nothing but the best experience with Del Mar Properties and Moriah. It is very difficult to find a property manager that is not cynical from dealing with crappy tenants that refuse to hold up their end of the bargain. I hope everyone puts into perspective that people seldom remember to give credit for a good experience and post positive reviews, it's always people with vendettas; and people how are angry that go the distance to post bad things. I do not want to fall into that category, and so I'd like to make it very clear that I've had nothing but amazing experiences working with Moriah. She is currently our Property Manager and we always get the best customer service with the most courteous and prompt responses. Moriah is a wonderful, kind hearted, funny, good natured professional. Oh, Moriah, how unprofessional and overzealous of you to assume this review is based on the owner's choice of another applicant. I fail to see how asking for credit reports we all paid for reflects our "disappointment" or even mine for that matter. Waiting an entire month for credit reports is unacceptable. This was our first submitted application. Whether or not we were chosen, we should be able to have our credit reports immediately. Every applicant should be treated professionally. YOU as the agent to the owner did not respond to me regarding the status of our applications in a week. I called you and so did my fiance' before we decided one of us should contact the owner to get some answers. Why not just conduct yourself as the professional property agent and deliver more efficiently? You sent my report immediately once I contacted the owner. It's beyond me why you couldn't follow through for the rest of our household. Also, Moriah, your facts are quite skewed. (Please, see our attached email correspondence.) I NEVER requested my fiance' or his son's credit report. My email clearly asks you to send my fiance and his son's credit report to their respective addresses as they filled them out on the applications. I also sent you a follow up email AFTER he called you requesting his and his son's. He had to call you a few times and leave messages before getting through to you. We just wanted the credit reports sooner than later! I think it's also important to take note that my fiance' never thanked you or mentioned anything to you for safe guarding his credit info from me. He laughs at this as I point out your response given I was present when he finally did get in contact with you. How presumptuous of you to create such a bold face lie. As a couple entering marriage, there is no need for a dishonest person as yourself to "safeguard" anything from either of us. Rather than concoct up lies to suit your reputation, take accountability for your actions by apologizing for not getting back to us sooner and ignoring us! That's what this review is about. Moirah, Moirah, Moirah.... Why am I not surprised at finding other negative reviews here with your name attached? You came briefly and rudely into my life when your company took over the management of the house we happily rented for 9 years. I have never met someone so utterly rude, insensitive, callous, dismissive and disdainful in my life in a business role. Your attitude to the tenants was absolutely shocking. I was stunned that someone in a customer service role (laughing at the insanity you could hold employment in this field) could treat its clients (yes both tenant and property owner are your clients, not just the property owner.) so terribly. Your attitude towards tenants appears to be that of someone who looks down on tenants, treats them somehow as if they are less than you. As if they are somehow deserving of your abrupt arrogant attitude. This should embarrass you. Look at yourself in the mirror. Are you really the person you want to be? Is pissing off tenants good for business or making anyone's lives any easier? Answering emails? You should try it instead of waiting for the frustrated person to email again. When you do finally reply, try being polite and helpful instead of condescending. I wouldn't be asking questions if I already knew the answers. Please try to be helpful in your "customer service" role instead of arrogant and presumptuous. It doesn't take any extra time to be polite and nice than it does to be brusque and derogatory. I would recommend ANYONE, wether it be property owner or prospective tenant to stay clear of this woman. How she has made it this far in her job is an utter amazement to me. Her attitude towards her fellow human stuns me. She does not respond in a timely fashion, if she does at all and when she does, the response is curt and insulting. Just because I don't own a house does not mean I an uneducated, unprofessional and impolite. Please don't treat me as if I am. Grow some manners, take a customer service course and have a good hard look at yourself. When I read on the company site that tenants sometimes find you entertaining I couldn't stop laughing. Del Mar Properties - Carole and Moriah managed the rental of my mother's house in Woodside during her final years. I really can't say anything except that the whole process was flawless, from preparations, to maintenance, to rentals and tenants, and direct deposits of rents into my Mom's account after bills were paid. During the years of management we had 2 changes of tenants without any issues and zero complaints. I can't imagine the process being better handled. Del Mar Properties also sold the property after my mother's death and that process was equally professional and painless. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I have waited over a year to write this review, I have started it and deleted it many times but here I go again. I would like to state this review is based on phone conversation ONLY, Moriah was not the property manager on our rental THANK GOD. Early 2015 was a terrible time for my family! We were happily going about our way, working and scrimping and saving to purchase our rental but the market got away from us and the home we were hoping to buy for $750,000 skyrocketed to close to 1 million. We had 8 weeks to find another home to buy or rent, the coast is a very small area, not many homes to buy or rent and at the time we were looking there was NOTHING. I was told by a friend to call Moriah, I called several times, no call back, I filled out the contact form online, no response, finally I called again and prefaced it with the fact I was following up with the contact form, when I finally got a call back she was MAD and explained that she was busy and that she would have gotten back to me eventually. Fine, we can move on from there. I told her our story, she asked if we were working with a realtor (yes we were) and then it goes downhill....Pets, we have pets and she said she did not rent to people with pets, I said we can give whatever down is necessary, she said I DO NOT RENT TO PEOPLE WITH PETS, she was rude and uncaring and I was crying and she did not care, it was just a terrible conversation that ended in me wondering how this woman can have ANY business?? Imagine if she had to get rid of her dog? a beloved family member? Her attitude was beyond terrible, no heart at all...I understand the policy, that was not what upset me, what upset me was the rude tone, no sympathy, no heart, I felt beat down when I was at my lowest from someone who I don't know but who knows many of my friends. I can't truly put into words how horrible this person made me feel, lower than low and sadder than sad. She actually told me "no one on the coast would rent to us with our pets", interesting because we lived in the same rental for over 4 years, amazing owner and we got our full deposit back btw. I would never ever recommend Moriah as a realtor or as a property manager, there are too many other people with a heart, people with feelings who actually care about others. The real breaker for me was when I tearfully asked "so what do I do get rid of my beloved pets?" and her response was "awkward silence" and a weird goodbye. If you are going to work with people in an emotional transaction (purchase, sale or rental) you MUST show kindness and respect. We purchased a lovely home, we had to leave our beloved coast but I must admit the sun is pretty nice here in the North Bay and if we decide to move back? well, we have an awesome realtor and lender already in place and many friends to welcome us back with open arms. read more

You may not find that perfect place right off away, but Moriah will be with you until you do decide "This house is perfect for us". She will go to bat for your best interest. She is truly a superstar. I can honestly say Moriah Bettencourt from Del Mar Properties provided the best customer service. She made our "need" list her priority and made house hunting a breeze for us first time home owners. We looked through many homes to get the right one. Moriah and Lisa worked together expeditiously to deliver our offer and communicated with us each step of the way. Kudo's to Moriah for once again finding the perfect tenant for our house in HMB. Having a rental home can be stressful, and we tried to make a go of it on our own but quickly learned we didn't know the first thing about renting a property. We got "lucky" the first time around with wonderful tenants that we have remained friends with but realizing that we didn't have what it takes, we have hired Moriah several times. Moriah takes care of all of the pre-screening, credit reports, walk through and such. Because we live next to our property and we built the house we do all of the property management but I find myself contacting Moriah from time to time with questions regarding the rental and she is ALWAYS more then happy to help me! Moriah has a vast knowledge of rental laws which is invaluable to the owner and tenant alike! If we ever sell any of our homes I would choose Moriah to represent us! Thank you Moriah!! read more

Moriah was a god send for my wife and I after we moved to the east coast and rented our townhouse. She is very knowledgeable about the area and the rental market. She protected our interests by choosing only the highest quality renters. Even when all of us were dupped by a renter with great creds who let her lying, evicted-prone brother live there, she worked tirelessly to help us get him out without going through the eviction process. She was awesome! Responds promptly and simply cares about her clients. I see the bad review from what looks like a potential renter that got turned down. It makes sense that someone might be upset because I know that Moriah only intends to rent to high quality people. If you want to talk to a real client about Moriah, ask her for my reference.
