DJ Del was a wildcard for the wedding. We found this dude on Reddit, jumped on a video call, and immediately connected with him. We had no idea how it would go. We loved that he was a family man and was easy-going, down for whatever, and decided to give him a shot. He killed it. First, he mixed our first dance song (a mash-up of 3 songs) and completely knocked it out of the park. He then did all of the audio, the uplighting, and the dancing, as well as the speeches. He made an effort to provide captioning for me during the best man/maid-of-honor speeches (I'm hard-of-hearing) and actually did an incredible job of providing that despite never doing it before. Found Del on Yelp, hired him for our wedding. He helped us create the time line of the event, gave us recommendation for the game to play during reception since we didn't do bouquet toss. He made sure to call us one week before the wedding to go over everything. He worked hard from 2:30-10pm on wedding day. One thing we wish he would have done different is to play one slow song during the dance floor so older people can dance also but that didn't stop everybody from having a great time. For our wedding, He took on my very specific requests and made my vision a reality. I went to a wedding a couple of weekends ago and Del was the DJ. I used to DJ back in college so I was paying close attention to what he was playing and when. During the reception everything was pretty spotless, a lot of slow jazz but I know the groom loves jazz so I'm sure that was a request. When it got into the late hours after the program was over Del got the dance floor crowded and it lasted throughout the night. I made a request here and there and he was able to squeeze a couple of the songs in when that genre of music was in rotation. He had a wide array of music, so many times me and my friends said to eachother "oh dang he has this?". Let's say I had a really good time when let's be honest, a lot of wedding can be kind of dull. What stood out at the end of a great night was Del kept everything very professional. He played just the right type of music to get everybody hype, but not too hype if you know what I mean. My wedding day was a nightmare. Sheets of rain were coming down sideways. Caltrans closed all roads to the wedding venue due to rockslides, mudslides, and rivers flowing across. My vendors were being turned around or stuck on different roads and DJ Del was one them. He was stuck for hours because of road closures and instead of quitting on me, he muscled through it, toughed it out and waited until Caltrans cleared the roads and showed up. My wedding was delayed overall but Del set everything up and we had no audio issues during the ceremony and all of reception - everything was perfect.
