I was rather offended when I took my car into King Mazda for an estimate to fax to my insurance agent back home, and the staff laughed at me when I suggested I might actually want to get the body work done before I head home. Apparently, this dealership is doing just fine in this difficult economy and doesn't need US dollars. It's not as if it were as simple as letting me know they were booked up. The insult was in the complete unwillingness to try to accomodate a traveler in need... and further insult to laugh about it. I've been very happy with my Mazda, but if I ever move to Saint John, I can guarantee King Mazda will not be the dealership from whom I purchase a vehicle.

I purchased a mazda 3 from King Mazda a number of years ago. They had to "order it special", and…read moreafter waiting nearly a week (it was supposed to be in tomorrow, then the next day, etc) the car finally showed up. It had a bad scratch across the hood - they said that happened during the shipping and would take care of it in their body shop (really!)... then, I looked at the odometer, and it had 3000kms on it. This was supposed to be a new vehicle! Not a demo. I also suspect that the whole story about it being damaged during shipping was BS. I walked away from the deal - but, wow, their shiftiness was mind blowing. After spending all this time with them, and then anxiously waiting a week for the car, needless to say - I was pissed. From my experience, I would stay far far away from this dealer. Not to be trusted.

Originally had my winter tire change over & sticker inspection scheduled at our local garage, but…read morecould not find the locking lug nut that was missing from my vehicle which i have owned for 10+ years. Called Dobson who had it last working on the front tire and asked them about the missing lock nut and they claimed i lost most likely. I did not, it never leaves my vehicle. Anyway, i asked them to cut them off and replace them with non locking ones. I was also having my inspection sticker renewed and they called me to say that the back brakes needed to be done. I just had them done 2 years ago + 1 week. They only had less than 20K on them highway driven. When i got there they drug out a rotor and showed it to me claiming it came off my vehicle. I went to my car and showed them the receipt from Summit Dodge in Fredericton. If i had gotten in to get my service done in a timely manner they would have been less than 2 years old and still warrantied. Well after speaking to the them and letting them know i wasnt happy i left the dealership still thinking about all the crap they said to me and realized i had a voicemail from them on my cell phone. The message said " This is Justin calling don't bother calling us back you can take your vehicle elsewhere you're not welcome here anymore. I would not recommend taking your vehicle here i would never take it back there anyways. Worst customer service ever. I guess i hurt their feelings by telling them i was not happy.

Service Department:…read more I have owned a Jeep since 1986. I used to get pretty good service, at Maple Leaf Motors, but that was a long time ago. The local Chrysler Dealership is now owned by Dobson. For a number of years, one of their senior staff was the service manager and I was always very satisfied with the service that he provided. Sadly, the front end service staff has changed over the last number of years and the previous service manager no longer works in that department. While the work performed by the mechanics has been satisfactory, the customer service at the service desk is terrible! I won't use names, or bother going into specifics, except to say that since they are the only Jeep dealership in town, they take very much for granted that you'll be dealing with them...They are rude and discourteous and at best unfriendly and have no concept whatsoever of 'Customer Service'. (When they have nothing better to do, they do eventually get around to serving you..) They certainly don't care whether you give them your business or not, so I definitely will not be taking my vehicle back for service any more. I have received great customer service from Fairweather Tire & Automotive, (right next door) and from Canadian Tire in Rothesay and would highly recommend both. Parts Department; I have had good customer service from the parts department. New Vehicle Sales: The last Chrysler vehicle that I purchased, was a 2006 Jeep TJ. I wanted to trade in my Jeep Liberty for a new TJ, but the Dobson sales staff were unable, or unwilling to let me out of my lease. Instead, I purchased my Jeep through Erin Dodge Chrysler in Mississauga, who were more than happy to help me out. The service there was top notch! I can't comment on the quality of Dobson's current sales staff, but since I won't be having my vehicle serviced there, it's unlikely that I will be purchasing a new Jeep through Dobson.

Not being an expert, I really needed a knowledgeable assessment of what was going on before making the 12 hour return drive home. I found First Stop Auto on 41 Adelaide Street in Saint Johns North End by sheer grace and good fortune. I walked into the office and first off asked if one of the fellas would drive the vehicle so they could feel what was going on. Without hesitation, Tim had the key and we took a few block radius spin. Though the shop was fully booked for the day, knowing I was on my way back to MTL, and I believe, because it was obvious I was "camping" in the vehicle, Tim offered to hoist Honda and make an assessment at the end of the work day, so that I could, if it was possible, be safely on my way that same day. I unstrapped my bike from the roof and rode into the tourist section of Saint John for the afternoon. (The Busker Fest was fun. Wonderful artists. And the indoor market, a few blocks up the hill, is worth a gander.) Around 5:30 Paul, the proprietor (I believe), gave me the prognosis. =D Almost my worst fears. He suggested I take the bus back, and that of course, the vehicle was not worth investing in, several components were on the brink of failure, BUT that my most immediate concern was the radiator. I asked if Honda was safe to drive. "Yes. I would survive but old Honda might not." =D. K. I stocked up on jugs of water. Took a couple old bottles of that rad sealer fluid in case of dire need, and already had a good stock of overflow coolant. A few Hail Mary's, a few Tibetan Chants, Paul and Tim's blessings, and I was back on my intrepid way. I bought Paul a lotto ticket. If he won I may not see him and Tim when I roll back into Saint John in August with a couple cases of fine beer! I would, without hesitation, send my auto business their way! Beautiful. Great people. Immeasurably grateful for businesses like this one.
