In decades of being fit for pointe shoes, including with professional companies, no fitter has come remotely close to the expertise and knowledge of Jamie. Their entire staff is friendly and super accommodating. They will go out of their way to find what you are looking for even if they don't have it and go the extra mile to make you and your children feel welcome and cared for. One associate even told us she cares about her customers needs as if they were her own ballet dancer children! If you have a dancer in your family I highly recommend a visit! I had my daughter fitted for tap shoes here and bought the size they recommended even though I told them I'd rather size up because she is growing fast. The shoes did not fit and gave my daughter blisters so bad that she did not even wear them for one class. I tried exchanging them for a larger size and they refused to exchange them saying they have been worn even though I assured them they had not been tapped in (zero scuffs). She also said "That's why parents have the final say before you buy." I let her know that I did not feel like I had the final say because I wanted to size up but they told me not to. read more

When I was a dancer I always came here for everything. Shoes, leotards, skirts, and accessories. They have every type of dance shoe and a wide variety of everything dancers need and want. I'm not sure how many dance shops are in the area, but all of my instructors always recommended this place which is not very close to our studio. The staff is all very kind and knowledgeable which trust me is a very good thing. Dance shoes can get confusing! There are at least three different kind of tap shoes! Dee's also has costume rentals so if you ever need a crazy costume at the last minute Dee's can help you out with that too! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This business sold my husband a pair of shoes for double what I found them through multiple places online because he didn't know better. In addition, my daughter who needs a shoe size of 13.5 was sold a pair of shoes that were a 2.5 because he was told that they ran small. When I called to speak to them about the price and the shoe- I was informed that they only do store credit. To me that seems unreasonable since their merchandise appears to be extremely overpriced. I would say this place is average. Customer service was good. The selection of dance wear was pretty good. It seems like they might get new shipments every few days. I will disagree with their return policy which is why the few stars less. There is no refund even on unworn things. It's either exchange or store credit. Just not a fan of that policy. read more

Super disappointed, went in today Sunday afternoon for some dance shoes and leotards. I walked in and the women standing behind the register looked at me and my family and didn't speak didn't say a word , about 2 mins later another group came in and the same lady cheerfully greater them with a "hello , welcome in can I help you " at this point we where looking a ballet shoes where a another associate again looked at me and immediately dropped her head. The whole experience was discomfiting. It doesn't matter if you know your size in a particular brand,they still won't sell them to you without making a specific appointment... Really?You're a retail location with an unlocked door;allowing the public in,but you need an appointment to buy stock shoes???? Or,did you just not want to sell to me? I realize I'm not your typical demographic,but understand you lost an almost 200.00 sale in the first place,in the second place,I will never be back,nor will I sing any praises to any other dancers looking for shoes or anything else. Maybe you have all the clientelle you need. If that's the case,lock your fucking door and only allow in whatever chosen few you deem worthy. It's a shame Phoenix is so limited in certain areas that shop keepers can come up with insane ridiculous rules because they know they corner the market on specific goods. My daughter bought a pair of shoes, wore them around the store, tried them on again at home and walked in her room. We didn't need them anymore because her production company found ones for her at the rental store. We tried to return them, no returns. So they said they would give store credit. Then they told us they were used so we couldn't do that either. That is awful!!! She walked around the store and her room. I barely call that used. We will not be shopping at Dee's in the future. There are few resources in Arizona for dancers, actors and performers, so it's best to order online if you have the time to wait for shipping. Dee's Dancewear is overpriced and because they know they are the only game in town, their customer service (and return policies) have suffered. In an emergency situation, you're better suited going to Mischa's Dancewear on 33rd Ave and Bell or Capezio's in Scottsdale. Otherwise, order online and steer clear of this establishment when possible. read more

Good enough. They have good customer service, and I found what I needed. The lady who worked with me seemed more than happy to help me and get more and more sizes, because I'm so picky with shoes. This place is amazing! I shopped there for my first time today and have never seen better service. They greeted me with a smile and offered help. When I asked questions about the dance sneakers they were full of knowledge and so helpful. They have so much stuff to take your time shopping but if you are like me and want in and out quickly they help with that and point you in the right direction. I bought a pair of shoes from Dee's. I was starting a new dance class and was excited about it! I was a little concerned about my final selection because of an injury, but the saleswoman assured me I could exchange them if they weren't too worn. I wore the shoes once to a dance class and they were just too small to dance in. When I went in to exchange them for a bigger size, I was told they wouldn't exchange them once they were worn. This surprised me. So, I talked to Jamie, the owner or manager, who said she would check things out with her employee and call me back that day, but based on her employee's notes, I had been notified of their no return, no exchange once worn policy. I didn't receive a call back that day or the next. Even if this is their policy, it wasn't clearly explained, and they didn't follow up. Now I have a pair of shoes I can't wear and need to buy another pair. I won't be buying them there. It's so short sighted. These shoes probably cost them $20 wholesale.
