The entire complex feels like a relaxing resort and everyone loves walking around to take it all in. I thoroughly enjoyed walks with my kid, and going for runs myself since it connects to the Hockanum trail. Staff: Amazing staff who have been managing the grounds for many years. The manager I interacted with primarily, Sabrina, was receptive to feedback and had the maintenance staff address any issues with your unit with a quick turnaround time. When I first moved in, I wanted to make some modifications to my unit and they did it right away and without charging me a penny. Cost: You truly get your bang for your buck here. Every unit has its own privately connected garage and tons of storage space. You even have your own private front entrance. It felt more like a condo than an apartment. My unit had 2 balconies as well and a HUGE walk in closet which I miss so much!! Thank you to the Mansions community for making my stay there truly memorable. I will continue referring folks to the complex. Please keep up the great work of making the residential experience as luxurious as its name :)

Renting a two bedroom in the back of the complex, I find The Mansions to be an exceptionally well run living space. There is a 24-hour gym, heated indoor pool, garages in many of the units and easy access to I-84. The entrance to the complex is right next to Vernon's fabulous Cumberland Farms, which gives us a nice easily accessed convenience store, just in case. Management is responsive and considerate. They have a round the clock number for maintenance emergencies. Management also schedules social events for residents as mixers. All in all, The Mansions is an excellent complex and a nice place to live. I'm very satisfied.

For the rent, you get an apartment with decent ground and upkeep. The attention should be to the…read moredetails. You spend nearly $2k for a 1br and $2500 for a 2br to have the grass mowed and snow removed. You then get an additional fee monthly for trash ($15), ammentities ($30 because of the common areas like pool, gym, etc), your water and sewer is billed monthly as expected but they hit you with a Conservice charge of $5.25 each time just for the billing of water and sewer, and if you have pets expect the extra $40+ charge for that. With all this cost it adds up. As noted by others, the trash and recycling dumpsters are picked up between 3a-7a each week so expect that noise early. The snow contractor they have used for the past few years uses a payloader regardless of time of night during storms to open the main roads with a loud backup alarm. The buildings are slowly turning green on the outside from lack of basic maintenence like power washing spraying. The parking lot lights in the rear three buildings of the complex stop working for weeks at a time throughout the year. The playground the office said groundbreaking was occurring on 2+ years ago has not begun. The public grills are left disgusting by other residents and after a year or two you are lucky to get them to ignite. Maintenance tickets seems to get ignored for what should be simple items such as adjusting the main entry door to the building stairs so it doesn't slam, so we just have to get used to that. They sparkle the holes in the stairwell left from when people move in/out but never paint them to match in over a year. The electric pool gates failed last year leaving the pool area unsecured which is a safety risk and building violation which took months to fix. With the tight spacing of parking spots dont be surprised if you get a fair share of dents in your doors from others getting out of their cars. Mail and packages get frequently mis-delivered and if left in thr package room there is a risk it may be taken by someone else if the courier doesn't lock it in thr Amazon hub. The Amazon hub goes down once and a while and when it breaks, there is no way for anyone to open it until Amazon sends someone to fix it. Top floor apartments are warm year round, which will help you on your heating bills, but will be expensive for running the AC other times. Then when you go to move out they follow the rules strict. You can give 60days notice and have to pay a penalty value of 2 months rent extra, or you can give no notice, turn in your keys and still pay rent on a unit you no longer have access to until they get someone else to rent it or your lease ends (whichever is first). After they release your deposit, expect that they will do what is required by law and pay you interest on your deposit but expect your check will be less than your deposit regardless of how you left the apartment after they deduct water, sewer and damages from it. For any deduction from your deposit they are supposed to give an itemized list and cost but they dont. Its just grouped as one fee under "carpet replacement, items left behind and cleaning" which doesn't fulfill legal requirements of itemization of deduction. Remember this apartment is a business no different than others and will find every way possible to get every penny out of you. And those extra fees like amenities mentioned earlier they can increase or change anytime because they are separate from your rent. If you want a newer decently clean place to rent this is one of the better ones, but for all the little issues that shouldn't exist at this high of monthly cost you should consider others. Its obvious others see this with the high annual turnover of tenants.

Lived here for almost a full year and I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. The prices…read moreare absolutely ridiculous and the property is not worth the monthly rent. When we first arrived, the washing machine was littered with mold. The pool is nice, when it's open. they often shut down the pool at absurd times for "maintenance." They have TVs throughout the common area, but there's no cable or streaming service connected. Can't forget the time when they were doing sewage work and failed to notify anyone parked within the vicinity of the sewers. I come outside to go to work at 9:00 AM and my car smells like feces. Lastly, the staff is abysmal. They are terrible at following up complaints, a rumor went around that they were allowing tenants to review security footage of the property and it turns out, the staff has no power to make any decisions! And if there's a chance you may be short on rent one month because of an emergency, do not expect any leniency. Upper management (the people who never present on the property and are unavailable by phone) has no problem evicting you! Even though they have empty units right now!! Maybe if single family/owner or a smaller company took over, I could see this apartment filling out its potential. As long as the current management is in place, I strongly advise everyone who reads this to not live here.

In 2014 my rent was $1230/mo, in 2015 it increased to $1245/mo in 2015, with heat and hot water included. I paid $35-$65/mo for electricity (Eversource), and $35-55 for internet (Comcast). The living room had a wall-unit A/C which kept the living room cool, and with fans to help air-flow kept the upstairs cool. The basement kept naturally cool in the summer. (My basement sliding doors were in the shade from 10am on.) In the winter, the basement was a bit cool near the outside wall (socks were necessary), but otherwise the apartment kept very toasty. The staff were very helpful. I locked myself out 3 times (during office hours) and each time they very promptly drove over with me or lent me a key. After that I did make a copy of my key, which is allowed. If you lock yourself out when the office is closed, it's a $50 call to the locksmith. The online bill payment system is great - responsive on computer and mobile, and very easy to use. I lived in the apartment above the row's furnace, etc. and one night it started making weird clunking noises. I called the emergency maintenance phone number and they got someone over to repair it within 90 minutes. My neighboring residents were a stable presence. There was a college-aged couple, several older couples, and at least 2-3 families with young kids in our row. I saw only one of them move out in my 2 years there. There were maybe 1-2 moving trucks a month in the larger vicinity that I saw, but in general, turnover didn't seem particularly high for a large community of rental properties. Also, the soundproofing between apartments is excellent. I never heard my neighbors unless they were vacuuming and we both had our windows open. The gym at the clubhouse is available to all Santini residents. It was always kept neat and clean, and it's 24 hours. I went at random times, and in general there would be 0-5 other people there. Enough to be friendly, but not crowded and no fighting over the machines. Snow-plowing was always very prompt, especially salting of the steps. They clear out the visitor spaces and then everyone moves their cars there so they can plow the main parking spaces. It would happen at 8 or 9am, so not compatible with sleeping in, but worth it to have a nice clear lot. Trick-or-treating is also nice. You grab a sign from the office during October, and on Halloween if you want trick-or-treaters, you put it on your door, otherwise you're left alone. Kids from the complex and other nearby complexes come around, so it's not an overwhelming amount of kids, but enough to make it satisfying to give out candy. I did sometimes find some house centipedes in the basement as the weather turned cooler, but they are harmless. Also, while some areas of grass are nicely maintained, my back area was a smaller strip that got less attention, and did become a bit dry and weedy during the high months of summer. The kitchen was a bit small in terms of counterspace, but it was manageable so long as I didn't let the dishes pile up. The shower drain also had a weird design that made it a bit difficult to pull out hair that accumulated. In general, pretty minor complaints. Since at least March 2014, there is a specific Model Home apartment for the Woodbrook apartments that Santini takes prospective tenants to tour. That means you don't have strangers tramping through your home after you decline to renew your lease. Overall, I loved my apartment here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the apartment was spacious (that basement!!!!!), had big windows, lots of parking space, and the gym and pool were always well maintained. I'm sad to move, but a new job in a new state awaits! 3 weeks after my lease end-date, I have received my full security deposit back with no problems.
