My gf has a deep dale, you know. And that's the way we both like it.
I knew a guy named Dale who used to always philosophize. So we called him Deep Dale.
First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've now seen 3 matches here, and been here about 7 times. During my 2011 tour, I went up to see them twice in a few weeks, and also I would sit near the stadium (at Sbux) and do my promo work, and pop out to the car park and look at the stadium and floodlights and be happy that I was so close to one of my fave places.
It is an absolute cauldron. A theater. It's like a mini Anfield or something. I absolutely love Deepdale and the industrial city of Preston in general. I am a huge fan. Huge in all kinds of ways. I was last here in 2014 (eating a kebab from a Persian place that Kristin found for me, lol), and I'll be back again in 2016, mark my words.
I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are from first-hand personal experience, usually from several visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, and visited most stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to hundreds yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at most, which I'll post later. Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia!

This is one of the best stadiums outside the Prem. It's got 25k capacity, all seats, and is intense and the fans feel like they are right on top of you. It was built brilliantly and is a truly historical stadium.
Opened in 1875, it's the home of Preston North End, and the National Football Museum is also up her. Up here, I mean, not up my gf.
The Kop is named after Bill Shankly, who doesn't love that concept.
There is a statue of Tom Finney. There are also roads named after both of them.
I hung out next to this stadium a lot when I performed in Preston which was one of my best concerts in UK. read more
